“"Traditional" American-corporate brewpub with the expected food menu and ambience. Friendly service. A few interesting silver city seasonals on tap in addition to the regular lineup. Not bad.“

“Not very good at all. Bad beer, bad service, and okay food. This area of Silverdale is nice, but that’s about it.“

“This is your standard Total Wine experience. This being the Kitsap peninsula, this has the largest selection around. It’s easily my go-to when looking for something new and interesting. Local Boys has a better Washington selection, but if you want something from outside the state lines in Mid-Kitsap, this is pretty much your only option. I don’t dislike this place nor do I love it. It’s serviceable with a solid selection of sixers and singles. Out of the dozen times I have been I don’t think I’ve ever actually conversed with an employee other than checking out but that doesn’t really bother me. The standard craft selection is pretty good and they do offer a solid seasonal/specialty section, too. Prices are average (and much better than the nearby BevMo). Worth a stop if in need of good beer in the area.“

“Silverdale, from what I can see, only has a few key places to go out on a Saturday night. I hope that doesn’t sound like a stuck-up Seattle guy thing to say, but it does seem kinda small. CBC, though, ho lee crap, they appear to have cornered the market as the place to be on goin’-out night. It’s a big, bustling operation, much more like a sports bar than a fledgling brewery. I’m giving it 3.5 stars, rounded down because it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. If you’re local, though, or passing through and really hungry (or thirsty), you can probably call this a 4-star joint.

It’s an older building…I think? If so, it has been restored and cleaned up well. There’s a nice little vestibule of glass doors on the sidewalk, then you huddle in to a host station inside, with big dining rooms and a bar space filling the room. It’s packed, and bustling, and there’s a waiting list, and it’s full of chatter, but not overly noisy.

There are flat screens for almost every table in the bar (you have to see how many TVs they can screw into one ceiling, seriously), nice tables and chairs, nice bar, nice divider walls, solid stage in the back corner, big gleaming stainless tanks in the brewhouse in back—they spent a fortune building out this joint. It feels nicely informal and welcoming, but they dumped a bundle into getting this going, and it has borne fruit.

The menu seems to focus on familiar favorite bar food items, lots of batter, lots of deep frying, heaps of nachos, and so on. The menus are all laminated cards—they’re restaurant vets, and they don’t waste time with house-printed stuff. They give everything a chipper name and a colorful logo, and print up cards for it. It felt more like a Red Robin than a northwest brewery, at least in terms of the menus and beer lists and table tents and all that.

The staff are SO nice and energetic and they are right on point throughout the meal. They never miss a visit, and they ask all the right questions. They’re clearly also being hired because they’re the best-looking kids in town, which of course helps business too. But they’re here to work, and the mission of the joint is to make sure that every customer has a good experience with food and drink—not to just look pretty and be chatty. They’re succeeding.

The bar has all the basics, from hard licks down through wine and on to the house beer list. They have a flagship lineup of anglo ales—a pale, a brown, a blond, etc. Nothing very bitter, no spicy yeast esters anywhere, nothing too adventurous or off-putting. In fact, about 4 of the beers tasted almost the same, with a little bit of lightly toasted caramel flavor and very gentle herbal counterpoint from the hops. No resiny bitterness ANYWHERE. They had a rye IPA seasonal pouring, which sounded a bit more aggressive, but I didn’t get around to trying it. ALL the beers here are immaculately clean, but they’re aimed at the neighborhood folk, not the beer geek. The idea here seems to be that if 25 families come in after a youth soccer tournament, at least 21 of the dads can order a beer and knock it back without having to wince at anything too harshly flavorful or surprising. I totally respect this approach, though I do my beer shopping in a totally different aisle. I really love how clean all the beers are, and you can tell after trying them once that they will be really consistent time after time—no fiddling around with recipes or processes once they go into production. “

“A big sports bar themed brewpub. Only about 8 house beers on tap, not including many of their more interesting beers. Cheap flights though. Food is typical American meat-centric fare, with little for vegetarians (nothing for vegans). Wasn’t very impressed with this place -- it’s not what I look for.“

“A big sports bar not dedicated to the craft beer drinker. Only 1 house on beer on tap with a few generic guest crafts and some macro shit. Service was friendly though. Food options are typical meat-centric American fare, with essentially nothing for vegetarians (never mind vegans). Not worth going to for the beer.“

“A loud, busy sports bar restaraunt. Lots of money and not really tailored to the beer geek. They only had 1 beer of their own on tap and it was just drinkable. Capitalizing on the swilling crowd. We didn’t eat but they had a good sized menu. I will not be back.“

“I stopped in looking to kill a couple hours but could only really stand an hour of this place. It wasn’t bad, per se, it was just too Applebees feeling with little to no core emotion behind it. The bar had a few big screen TVs above the bar. They had their regular lineup with a few seasonals and one guest beer. I got the four beer flight of which all were good but nothing sensational. Service was good and generally pretty attentive. Atmosphere was pretty loud, but I was here on a Friday evening. Overall, this is a very restaurant oriented brewpub. The beer comes third here, IMO, after the food and environment.“

“A very commercial and well appointed brewpub. Service is OK, but when they didn’t have something I was looking for they made the decision on a replacement, not cool. Food was decent, but overpriced. Not a bad place and beer was decent, but catering towards the masses not the enthusiast.“

Silver City Texaco (Grocery Store)

“This is a gas station but it has a very respectable beer selection. Four coolers of craft beer and mostly sold in the large format bombers. Some six and 12 packs, also. Loads of Washington and other PNW brews. A small selection of imports. They even had a bunch of seasonal/limited release bottles. Not a place to go out of your way for, but if you’re in the area and need gas and a beer, this is worth a stop.“

“A slightly odd juxtaposition of a furniture/home goods store and a market that carries beer, wine, spices, etc. The beer selection is pretty decent. Sixers of a fair amount of craft beers. They also have a decent selection of Belgians and a few other imports. It’s not really worth a special trip but if in the mall area and curious, it is kind of fun to poke around. They have one small cooler keeping about 8-10 beers chilled.“

“Like other BevMo! locations, this is a liquor store with all the fixings. It has a large selection of craft beers and you should be able to find something interesting. Like other area stores, it is very PNW heavy with little from the east coast. Most is in six or 12 packs but they do have a decent selection of large format bottles available. Not much in the way of single bottles smaller than bombers. They have 10 or so taps in their growler fill station. Prices are definitely higher than other places in the area. Beyond the beer, they have plenty of wine, hard liquor, glassware, etc. A pretty solid stop if in the area.“

“I wouldn’t really consider this a brewery. It was more of a stop along the brewery tour that just happened to have awesome food. I would recommend for dinner, and a beer.“

“Great food, best scotch ale on tap in the area, and usually good service. Price is a little up there but overall competitive with the area. Usually have a decent seasonal as well. As far as the brewpubs go probably the best in the greater kitsap area.“

“Since they have installed sound dampening surfaces, I can much more enjoy hanging out at Silver City. And damn if the beer isn’t getting more interesting and better! Great burgers, beer sampler is sweet, and very nice guest taps as well. These guys just seem to be getting it right, building their business and keeping customers happy. Old Scrooge is awesome, as is the Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. Put some age on the Panther Lake Porter, and you have a really special treat!“

“This was a nice brewpub with lots of seating and ambiance. The food looked good although i didn’t have any. They had about 8 of there traditional offerings and 4 seasonals. The beers had high ABV and were very tasty. My only complaint was that I was there on a Thursday night and they had last call at about 10 PM, while there were still alot of patrons at the bar.“

“Silvercity has become somewhat of a Kitsap county staple. Their beers are unique and flavorful and their menu is quite diverse, good appetizers and great happy hour deals after 9 pm. Fat Scotch is a great Scottish Strong Ale, has notes of scotch and is quite strong. Mix a Fat Scotch with a Ridgetop Red and you get: FRED! The Panther Lake Porter is also quite good and always on tap. Their seasonals are typical very good as well. Old Scrooge is a great Barley Wine style ale, Gold Mountain Pils is a superb pilsner and Whoopass Double IPA is a very good IPA. Silvercity offers something for everyone. The service is great and the staff is friendly. Restaraunt and bar both get super crowded at times so it’s always best to go with plenty of time at hand.“

“The ambience here is nicer than anywhere else in Silverdale, though not that cozy. Silverdale is strip mall central, and they at least avoid feeling like part of that. They have excellent beers here, with the Fat Scotch ale being a real standout that’s always available. They put out some excellent seasonals as well. This place is one of my favorites as far as food at breweries goes, with great sandwiches, pizza, and a fantastic brownie sundae. It is more expensive than a lot of the Seattle options I have, though. Definitely an excellent brewery in an unexpected place.“

“If you want to go here on a weekend, good luck. I think the pagers work next door at Red Robin, where you’ll have plenty of time to grab a beer there while you wait forever. weekdays are usually not too bad. The food is definitely tasty and the service isn’t bad. Not really a place to go to if you’re looking for a nice conversation when it’s packed. a lot of the beers brewed on location are as good as any micro brews in Washington though.“

“I recently visited this brew pub when visiting the in laws. The place was absolutely packed, and we had to wait a half hour, not quite what I was expecting but not unreasonable. The service was decent, the bartender was great, our waitress talked about abortions with her friends within earshot, not exactly dinner conversation. The food was pretty darn good, but over priced. My IPA was very good, when I asked for a hoppy recommendation for my next beer the waitress told me I should try a seasonal of theirs, it was not remotely hoppy, but then again she wasn’t 21 in my estimation so she probably doesn’t have much experience. Overall a nice place, probably better to visit early or on an off night. The prices are a little high.“

“world market is just that a market with a worldly theme, lots of packaged food, wine, other items from around the world. service is okay for a market, they do always ask if i need any help when im looking at their beers. selection is okay they have a about 60 different beers but don’t change it up. they have had the same beers for over a year, with just the small change during christmas when they bring in a few holiday brews like "lump of coal". the prices are about the same as anywhere else, so i would say that they are reasonable. “

“extremely friendly staff on our 10+ visits, food it well above brewery/pub food..which has it’s pros and cons...sometimes feels too fancy for my taste, but I’ve never had anything that wasn’t fantastic. Beer is always great...Sasquatch Stout and Fat Scotch Ale are excellent!“

“Very solid place, if lacking a tiny bit in character and imagination. It’s in a strip mall, which doesn’t put you in a great frame of mind to start with, but it’s kinda not their fault they were pretty much on their own when they built there as Top Notch Burgers years ago, and the growth has exploded around them. Now it’s in between department stores and drugstores, which makes it feel like a chain or something. It’s very clean and tidy and well-run, though it looks like it could either be brand new today or 20 years old. No ambience in terms of aged wood or any sort of patina of friendliness that’s built up over time. Oh, the people are friendly for sure, it’s just that the building materials look very pre-fab. Anyway, the food’s pretty good, nice mix of pizzas, comfort food, and some mainstream american entree favorites. Nice big flat screens and plenty of cute servers. Not much to make this worth a special trip they don’t offer any vintage stuff or anything exceptional that way. But I’d certainly rather eat here than any other place within 25 miles if I were driving through Silverdale on a road trip.“

“ambiance is a big box filled with seats. service was good, typical for a brewpub, you can tell that the people enjoy working there. selection was fine, they had there typical 6 plus two that were not there normal seasonals, no stouts, or porters at the time. food was tasteless, had the calimari (no taste) the boston chowder (is that new england) tasted processed, and not as good as ivars processed chowder, the ribeye - cowboy style was not that tasty, kid had the El Diablo pizza that was not hot or spicy, and rather bland, wife had duck which was the only item that had flavor... overall not impressed at all with the food nor the beer, skip this place, just because it is the only brewpub on the kitsap pennisula does not mean that it is good. “

“This was a great place to visit. You would think this is the typical local city brewery pub trying to be good and they only serve bad beer. They had great beers the staff was attentive and they really love there beer. The beers where good cold and served very well. A great place in an area in need of great beer. Had a great time the food was awesome. This is perfect for a trip out on the NW area of Washington.“

“Okay, it was a surprise to find this place. The beer was good! Let’s get one thing straight; Silverdale is not quaint or cute. It is little more than a sprawling super mall -- a bleak sea of franchise joints that is generally void of any discernable character. Silver City Brewing Company is refreshing in this environment. How well it would be received across the Sound in a hip Seattle neighborhood is quite irrelevant. No, the large, rather industrial interior is not cozy. Yes, they seem to cater to the after-shopping crowd (a PC way to say “soccer moms and their families”). Yes, it does remind one of a Red Robin or a TGI Friday’s. My fear was that Silver City would prove itself to be the kind of place that only uses the “brew pub thing” to provide character. Like a shtick. All of that being said, the beer was good. The bartender was quite knowledgeable about the beer. They had an impressive assortment of their own beers on tap. And the beer was good. In fact, it was quite good. Obviously they are serious about their beer. We took a few bottles home with us and enjoyed them. They make good beer. That’s most important. “

“Somebody dropped some cash on this place, cavernous interior, 30’ ceilings, clean and somewhat corporate feeling though. Lots of selection, some good. Bottles to go. Food is typically forgettable. Tiny bar, huge restaurant with a whole cross-section of the town in there when we stopped by.“

“Big, fresh wood, high ceilings type of place. Uberclean. Bar area is small so ended up in restaurant area, which sucked. Table service is the bane of brewpubs. A restaurant for the whole town, so hardly a beer geek vibe. Some people weren’t even drinking beer! You can buy bottles to go. Long list of house beers, though I wasn’t thrilled with any of them. Food...very industrial, and I didn’t like the looks of any of it. Glorp and glop all over the place and plated poorly. Not my scene.“

“Review based on 3 visits in 2003 including their Oktobefest event in 2003. Mall parking lot, great for RV owners. Nice bar, nice dining area. All meals were good. Typical expensive food as you find in Seattle area. Decent selection, decent beer. Good quality liquors at the bar.“

“A large restuarant located in a mall parking lot - it resembles more an Olive Garden or Red Robin... or perhaps a BJs, if you catch my drift. They had a nice patio area outside, and I was able to sample all of their beers in good sized portions. The food was very pricey for the type of restuarant and the quality of food offered, but I was actually really impressed with their clam chowder. The scotch ale was the highlight of my visit, much more so than the Fat Bastard. Recommended.“
