“Large taproom in a restored older warehouse type building. Small patio with a few shaded tables, but next to a bright sunny patio that belong to the apartments next door and so is off limits to beer drinkers. Good variety of beer styles, beers were tasty, and available in flights. Servers were friendly and helpful. Away from the crowded spots, popular with cyclists from the nearby river trail, which is worth a look just a couple blocks away.“

“Early Saturday afternoon visit. Nice newer brewery located in an historic refurbished building. Great service and about a dozen of their beers on tap. Prices more than fair. Most of their selection were lighter beers for the arriving summer season. Food truck parked out back. Enjoyable visit.“

“Super friendly staff that was conscious of the current health situation. Not a lot of people on a Friday night (but it's summer and COVID sucks). Great original beers on tap. Lots of local flavor with vintage neons from long gone establishments. Something for St. Joe to be really proud of!“

“when I initially moved here I saw the joke of a selection at hyvee and the other local grocers, and the convenience/liquor stores, and I got a bit scared. Then I found Smooth Endings, and thank god, I knew everthing was going to be okay. A fair selection of local and Colorado craft beers and an even better selection of bombers and small batch stuff in the walk in cooler. Staff is very helpful and fairly knowledgeable, always friendly. Yes, they have some room to improve in terms of selection and getting some of the local breweries in (needs more Tallgrass, Weston, Free State, etc) but far and away the best beer selection in St. Joe.“

“Staff has always been very helpful amd friendly. Their selection may not be as good as KC area shops but they seem to make an effort to get new releases and they carry the best of the available breweries. Prices tend to be a little higher than Hy-Vee but they certainly have a better selection. Bottom line is that were fortunate to have them a they’ll continue to get my support.“

“Smooth Endings is hands-down the best beer store in St. Joseph. Their selection might not have the most quantity in town, but they more than make up for it in quality. Anyone who hasn’t been by in a while should check it out as they get new beers in almost every week. I know because I go by every week. Nice variety of craft brews from across the country. The staff is friendly and helpful.“

“I have stopped in a few more times. They now have a mix a six option and have slightly upped their selection, but they are still not the best in town. This may be a little early to rate as they are still building up their stock of beer. it is getting better, but still not up to speed with Hy Vee or even Apple Market. It is the only dedicated liquor store in St. Joe and they are making an effort to bring in what the customers want. They have a walk in cooler and humidor. It should also be a nice place to get cigars as well as quality wine as those are the other things where they focus. So far, when I have visited, the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Their prices are competitive for St. Joe and actually cheaper than what I have seen between here and KC proper.“

“Ok, this will probably not impress any out of town folks that are just visiting. However, it is easily the best beer store in St. Joe and in between Platte City and Maryville or Omaha. They get the special beers from Boulevard and also get the standard CO micros. However, do not go in expecting to find special edition brews from CO. They have the Schalfy and Scmhaltz standard line up. It’s worth a stop if you are in the area and can’t make it down to KC for beer.“

“I found these guys in the yellow pages. When I ran into a problem, I called to ask questions. Even though I bought my stuff at another supplier, the lady that answered the phone was very patient and very helpful. She even put me on hold to call another brewer with one of my questions that she couldn’t answer. When I came in later to pick up more ingredients, she chatted with me for nearly an hour about beginners brewing techniques. I wouldn’t have expected that since I bought my starter kit elsewhere, but it was great. This was definitely some of the best customer service I’ve experienced.“

“We took a road trip down to St. Joe in order to check out this place. Their web site suggested that this would be a pretty solid homebrew shop. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the shelves were pretty bare. The hop pellets and the yeast cultures were all expired. I suppose that they simply middle-man most of the things they purport to sale online. The worst thing was the fact that once we made our purchases, the actual prices were HIGHER than the price tags. The woman running the cash register stated that they had increased their prices and none of the price stickers were correct. This just seems like a bad business policy to me. Maybe the woman was just ripping us off. Regardless, I would suggest that you stay away from this place. Both online AND off.“
