“Much has changed since I visited 25 years ago. Back then you got cases from the brewery direct into the trunk of your car. Today they have a nice tap room and beer garden on the main street in St Mary's just below the brewery itself. They've also expanded their lineup to include a wide variety of styles and not just the lager they've been known for over a hundred years. Great location, great service, good beers. Definitely worth a stop for the beer and the history.“

“THE eternal tap is HERE!! Finally I FOUND it! What more do I have to say? I am now 0 for 2 in getting here at the wrong times to take a tour, but wow, what a wonderful little town St. Mary's is- like going back in time. They have like a drive up beer distributorship in the back of the brewery where you can order- cases, 15, 12, or 6 packs of their beers. They have styles of beers that I did not even know that they brewed, like a wonderful IPA- the "Hop Blaster". I like their Lager even better than Yuengling's! One thing- every employee that passed us here- smiled, greeted us, and seemed happy that we visited. How about that? “

“A little out of the way but worth a detour. They have been busy, last month both expanding (a new tap room/bar with outside seating, one-offs) and installing an on-site canning line. And it seems the proud lager brewery has taken several steps to diversify, with IPAs and a Kölsch, perhaps others. Tour was awesome, hadn’t ever seen a traditional gravity-fed brewery, makes much more sense this way. Beer was solid all around, merchandise was interesting and a bit more varied, prices very reasonable. The Eternal Tap is a simple gimmick but seems to represent a larger, denser web of community, and I think there are good people at work here. Support them, they deserve it. [2019.07.18] “

“Simple brewery in a small town ... Had an old time brewery feel .... Didn’t stay for a tour, but I did drink some of their tasty IPL from their eternal tap .... I also bought some sauces made with their beers .... They had a real nice staff and warm throwback atmosphere .... If your traveling stop here and don’t be a beer snob. Appreciate an old family run brewery .... And some free IPL!“

“Everything they say about the eternal tap is true. I had to see it for myself. They had over 5 different straub beers on tap when I visited and they even had a few rare bottles as well. Friendly girl from the gift shop also provided the tour. We visited about 8 different areas in the brewery. Went out of my way to see this place and it was worth it. BTW, how could you give the value anything lower than a 10 since you could drink all the beer you wanted for free? The beer is so fresh and tasty, especially the regular straub, you got to try that fresh from the eternal tap, its so much better than the bottle, so civilized with its mild hay like flavors! If you like lager, this place is a must.“

“This is a tiny place in the middle of town. This is one of my favorite places on the planet. The people are friendly, the gift shop has cool stuff at killer prices, tours are fun and FREE and the beer is good and also FREE. Yes I said free. The Eternal Tap is inside the brew works with a bar sink under it. You can have a few free beers and all they ask is that you wash your glass. If they had food I’d never leave.“

Emerald Diner (Restaurant)

“Excellent selection of on-tap craft beers plus the amazing food of Adam Bernard-- their tap line-up changes but always includes many from local brewers Tallgrass and Boulevard, plus seasonal craft beers from around the U.S. The food is not your average pub grub because it WAS NOT trucked in from corporate--they make the breads, sauces, ice cream, ground meats, etc. This owner-operated restaurant is a real gem.“

“Bulldog is a great local liquor store that manages to carry a surprising variety for a shop whose clientele seem to favor Natty light, Franzia box wine, and Skol vodka. The selection is not huge, but does have good quality. They guy that does the ordering tries to keep a good variety and his orders reflect the seasons. Any time I make a suggestion about a beer I would like to see in stock, it always seems to turn up in a week or two.“

“This is a grocery store. It is a smaller store that has a surprisingly good beer selection, including many seasonals and craft beers that you can’t get at other places in town. Not a beer destination, but if you are visiting family or friends in the Grand Lake St. Marys area, you should stop by to stock up.“

“The beer, while limited to their basic stuff, is free every day of the week. You walk in and grab as much as you want for as long as you want. If this gets your drunk enough to want some apparel (yea that happened to me) it’s dirt cheap and the people are nice. Limited, but can’t complain when the beer is fresh and free.“

“A pretty good selection for the area. But, the staff aren’t very knowledgeable & the management doesn’t much care to expand their offerings.“

“Stopped here on my way up to Savannah in early May ’11. Decent selection for a small town liquor store. Entire wall fro a beer cooler - plenty of common micros - Fat Tire, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog, Heavy Seas, Rogue and a new brewer I had not seen before - Strangford Lough - supposedly from Ireland, but bottle says brewed in Rochester. Plenty of common imports. Even has a cooler full of singles. Nothing earth shattering, but if I can walk into a liquor store in rural Georgia and pick up three ratings...I’m a happy traveler.“

“What everyone else said..........but seriously, this is a cool, family owned and operated, brewery, which also just happens to be one of the last regionals left. Very friendly crew making a good product. Support them, before the day comes that you wish you had.“

“I happen to like the beer. Not that it’s the best but enjoyable. LOVE the Eternal Tap. I always stop when I’m in the area. Gift shop is great, the drive up Beer Store is cool too. Love the whole aspect of this great old brewery.“

“Very small brewery operation in the middle of St. Mary’s, where there’s not much else honestly. Tours are available until noon or by appointment. During the tours, you’re able to see the brewing process, and if you time it right, the kegging. The Eternal Tap is open to the public to grab a few free fresh Straubs (and Straub Lights now) direct from the tank. The guys who work there are very friendly and helpful. They let us into the keg room to take pictures even though they were done brewing at that time. The gift shop has a lot of quality merchandise for extremely cheap prices. Cool glassware and shirts. Drive-up beer store open Mon-Thu 9 am to 8 pm and Fri- Sat 9 am - 9 pm. Extremely great prices on fresh Straub. Well worth a visit to see a small brewery in action even if you don’t like the beer.“
