“Meh. Small place, but a decent selection. Laughably small single selection (maybe 2 shelves over some seltzers). A few warm singles. I would have gotten a 4 pack of something to go, but prices ranged from high to astronomical. Shopkeeper was friendly and offered assistance. Good place to stock up, not a good place for tickers. Overall decent.“

“HUGE place. Probably a hundred people in there but I was mostly able to social distance at the bar. Big bar. Big beer hall setup behind. Loud music, bar games. Heard some real instruments a few times, but it wasn't a concert and didn't seem like a warmup. Weird. Bartenders were nice. Lots of house beers and guest beers on tap. Had both the IPA and the Porter. Both could use a bit of tweaking but both were pleasant and drinkable. Good enough that I got a mixed 4 pack of pint cans to go (haven't tried those yet). Lots of Alt Brew options for the gluten free crowd. Bartenders were friendly and helpful despite being very busy. Definitely stop by if you're in town.“

“Hmm so I see it's been 9 years and 2 days since the last rating. Stopped here cause I needed beers for the hotel room. Moderate sized grocery store. I didn't go in the grocery section. Large liquor store attached. Lots of beer. Good selection. Separate shelf of a few less common beers. Four doors of BYO selections. Individually priced so there's not a set price for the BYO six pack. Decent selection. I could not find 6 new ticks, but you probably have fewer Wisconsin ratings than I do so you'll probably do better. Parking was fine. Only employee I ran into was the cashier and he was not rude, but not friendly either. Prices seemed decent all around. Not worth going out of your way, but a good stop if you're in the area.“

“This brewery needs to be sent down to the A or AA minor leagues for more seasoning. They went 1 for 14 with a bloop single and 13 strikeouts in their major league debut.“

“A small, aging gift shop with a few taps available. Staff didn’t seem to interested in the visitors. Prices were cheap and there were a few beers on tap. Overall, not the best of the area.“

“Dumpy, rambling building with small gift shop that featured some general swag (shirts, pint glasses etc.) plus a few six packs. Staff seemed generally disinterested and not particularly knowledgeable about the beers on sale. At least prices were decent and parking was easy. Overall, not a highly recommended spot. Only worth a visit if you’re on a deep dive of the local scene.“

“Visited here in the summer. Plenty of parking across the street in a large lot. Older building with a small gift shop. Six packs available for sale. Tour was $3, lasts about 30 minutes and was informative. Three samples available, with take home glass, at the end of the tour in the tasting area. Overall a decent tour, and worth a stop if you’re in the area.“

“Two visits, each of the last two summers at the end of July; I think I might have been here one other time too, around ’07 or ’08. As others have mentioned, this is *RIGHT* off the interstate, so it’s super-convenient if you’re driving through, which I’ve done each of the last two years on my way to my family reunion way Up North. You know you’re in a beer-friendly place right away when you walk in - through a large beer barrel. Inside is your typical rustic Northwoods décor, but in this place it looks and feels authentic. Beer list is basically all Wisconsin, and half of it Point or Central Waters. If they ever have rarities I haven’t seen ’em, but if you appreciate those breweries, or New Glarus, Ale Asylum, etc, you’ll find something. Food is typical pub grub but a bit better than average; I had a brisket sandwich special one time that was really excellent. Prices are low by my standards, and I now live in a very cheap area; hard to imagine anybody complaining about prices here. Both kid and biker-friendly, which is rather cool.“

“This is by far the best place to get a couple drafts in Stevens Point, WI. A solid wait staff will gladly provide their insight as well as a sample of any new beer you are apprehensive about. I have been living in Point for almost 10 years and I keep going back to Guu’s every time. I wish there were more places like this around here.“

“There’s no mistaking that you’re touring a 155-year-old working facility when you drop in on the Point Brewery. The gift shop is small but very pleasant with a nice selection of Point’s current beer and soda pop offerings at reasonable prices. If you put down $3 for the tour, you get to squeeze through sections of the brewery made for brewing and not touring (many steps, ladders and slippery floors). At the end of the tour, you have 20-30 minutes to enjoy three 10-oz tap samples. Choices include current Whole Hog limited editions, a full lineup of Point’s year-round and current seasonals, two different ciders from its new Ciderboys line, and four of their gourmet sodas. A real eye-opener is their shipping area, where you see all the contract brewing or bottling they’re doing for other beer labels. Tour guide Cassandra was friendly and informative.“

“Solid place - happened to be driving by as I was driving from Wausau to Stevens Point, saw this place and thought "I wonder if I can stock up on Wisconsin beers?" Turns out, yes, absolutely! A whole fridge of WI beers in mix-and-match format, and 10% off if you build a full 6-pack. Also saw a large shelf of other craft brews, and picked up a Struise Pannepot. Solid place!“

“This is one of the better pubs in the Stevens Point area. It also has a long history. The bar area has a nice ambiance - a lot of wood. The food great - especially the specialty burgers. They go great with either a macro of local craft brew (e.g. Point). I strongly recommend if in the area. It’s just off of I 39.“

“I had a ’private’ tour of the brewery as part of a UW-SP activity. A small brewery feel with a knowledgeable guide. The tasting at the end was great. This was a free tour, which is not normally the case anymore. I would still recommend a visit if in the area.“

“Took the brewery tour today and enjoyed it. This brewery is the 4th oldest continuously operated brewery in the US. Lots of history, some older equipment but also some new equipment (keg filler/washer and bottler labeler) . They also contract brew and bottle for other breweries. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. Plenty of beer and soda samples with popcorn in the hospitality room. With over 150 years of brewing tradition, there was plenty of memorabilia to view and enjoy. For a cost of $3, the tour was a good value.“

“Stopped in on a trip to Central Wisconsin. Nice liquor store attached to a grocery store. Plenty of beer along the perimeter of the store with almost all of it in coolers. Three of four coolers in the back with singles. They carry most of the major brands and a lot of the local Wisconsin stuff with some nice offerings (like GI BB Stout and handfuls of Belgians) I didn’t see anywhere else in the area. Store is separated into beer by Country.“

“Stopped in on a trip to Central Wisconsin. Decent selection for the area with a full cooler wall of singles. A lot of the major brands I find in Milwaukee plus a few others like Shipwrecked that I saw for the first time. Clean store with wide aisles and a friendly attendant.“

“Nice little brewery tour with tasting. The brewery has a bit of interesting history. They also make sodas which could make it an OK place to bring the kids. Even though I had my first root-beer here and never gone near one since. The tastes kinda macro-ish.“

“Like nflmvp, I was pleasantly surprised by this store. I was in search of O’so brews and had printed out the list of establishments from their website that they distribute to. I was on my way to Point Brew Supply and looked on my list and realized that I was just a block from RJ, so stopped in. Although their selection of O’so was limited to two different ones, they had a pretty large selection of American craft brews and also, like Kelly Liquors in Wisconsin Rapids, have a make your own six-pack, singles cooler as well. Good selection of New Glarus brews. Overall, pretty similar in its offerings to Kelly Liquors, likely due to the fact that they use the same distributors. I didn’t end up buying anything because I wanted a larger selection of O’so brews and the ability to buy them in singles (both things you can do at Point Brew Supply), and the cashier was noticeably disappointed, not responding when I said thank you while leaving the store.“

“A long-held favorite with friends/family in Steven’s Point, but the first time I’d been on the tour. The guide knew the material and was funny, but didn’t give the impression that brewing was her passion (beer, maybe). Tour’s fun, though. Some samples at the end, and a lot of small-brewing history rolled into the presentation.“

“I didn’t really expect much from the front of the store. It’s in an older, nondescript builing with your typical macro neons in the window. When I walked in, I found it to be larger than I expected and with a little better selection than expected. All the major Wisconsin players are represented as well as some regionals I don’t even find in Appleton or Green Bay. A good example is the Great Lakes Brewing Company....so I just had to pick up another 6er of Edmund Fitzgerald. Imports were well represented, Germans, Euros, etc, however Belgians were weak. This was explained to me by either the owner or the manager (I’m not sure who I was talking to). Apparently, it’s a distribution problem and they are hoping to get it resolved soon. When asked about availability of certain beers, I was told "It’s all a matter of what the distributor brings us". At any rate, there seems to be a good enough selection for just about every taste. and lucky for me, there was a hidden gem that I’ve been looking for since last fall. It was a bit pricey but OH SO TASTEY (one of my favorites so far) and I’ll be reviewing it soon.“

“Another Stevens Point place we stopped at frequently. I think the most memorable time was when we had a UWSP student give us a tour and you could tell she just wasn’t too excited to be there on a Saturday. We later found out that she was supposed to be off but one of her co-workers called in because he was too hung over from the party she attended with him. I just laughed at the story and told her that she didn’t drink enough.“

“Great eats at a coll place. We used to go to Point quite frequently and I always insisted we stop here for the food. Actually it was because they had a huge Keg as their front door. Great selection of beers, Point specials, Central Waters, and some New Glarus.“

“A very nice tour of a small and expanding brewery. I think everything they make is able to be sampled at the end, either on draught (for some of the Points) or bottled (for the rest). Nothing there I’ve never tried before, but still a good value. Gift shop has some values but much of it is kind of pricey. Get their beer at a local store to save a few bucks. All in all, an enjoyable tour.“

“I ended up at this place in October 2004 on my way to a wedding in Wausau, namely because one of the brewers for Central Waters (makers of the reknown Bourbon Barrel Stout) was working there as a bartender. I ordered three growlers of his beer ahead of time and picked them up at this brewpub. Hilltop had 4 Central Waters beers on tap, 2 New Glarus, and a handful of Point beer products. I didn’t eat, just sat up at the bar and talked to some interesting folks while sampling a few of their tap beers. (The conversation started when someone asked me, "Why are you smelling your beer?") Anyway its a convenient stop off Highway 51. Note that this place is in no way affilated with the Hilltop beers listed above. Not sure why they show up here.“

“This is a tiny brewery hidden Stevens Point, WI. You’re somewhat surprised that a brewery with that as well distributed in Wisconsin as the Point line would be so small. I have been here numerous times and believe I have been on a tour, but I can’t recall. The shop, where the tours start from, has a gift shop with quite a few souvenir items you can choose from. You can usually get a six pack of one of their beers for very cheap. Worth a visit.“
