“As the name implies, Strandbaren is located right on a sandy beach (Hosnasand) on the island of Stokkøy in Trøndelag. On the inside it looks more like a café than a bar or restaurant, but the stunning view of the islands and ocean just outside the windows more than makes up for that, and with a top kitchen and a decent selection of local beer you’ve really come to the right place on Stokkøy. The bar offers around ten beers on bottle and E.C. Dahls pilsner on tap. During my visit they had three beers from local brewery Stokkøy Bryggeri and a couple from Reins Kloster, in addition to the more well known brewery HaandBryggriet. The food was superb, I went for the tasty fish soup but they also offer meat of various kinds. All in all a very nice place to enjoy some tasty food and cold beer, if you’re in the area.
