Mega Package Store (Beer Store)

“Reincarnation of Suwanee Beverage Superstore. On the upside, more product is kept cold. Relative pricing seems higher. As before, convenient location near I-85. Limited number of singles, mostly larger than 12 oz size, relative to the number of beers available. Good representation of local, national and international brews. Still primarily a wine and liquor store, the friendly service reflects this emphasis.“

“This store has just about every sort of liquor you could imagine, except possibly authentic Romulan brandy. The staff are alert and helpful, evidently well-trained. I found some good beers there, including a couple that are hard to find (just missed the one I really wanted, but not their fault). Prices are not low, but are still reasonable. Strongly recommended if you live in Gwinnett County.“

“Your typical Taco Mac, on the large side, plenty of tables and booths but the bar seems a little shorter than usual. Service is good as always. Their selection is impressive, what one expects from this chain. Do try the Black Bean Burger.“

“This big store has lots of hard liquor and wine. Beer seems to be an afterthought - but their selection is impressive, including lots of crafts and locals as well as the expected industrial swill. However, the latter is relegated to the farthest coolers in the corner, while the good stuff is in the coolers and shelves nearer the entrance. Service is helpful and reliable. They make you glad you visited the place. Easy to find, good parking, worthy of a visit if you live and/or work in the Suwanee area.“

“Pretty clean, open floor plan with patio. Incredible wings. Beer selection was good and there appeared to be a lot of tap rotation. Plenty of parking. Uncle Doug picked up the tab, so I’m not sure how the prices were for food - the beer prices were average.“

“The "little brother" to the other Beverage SuperStore in Suwanee. This one is about 10 minutes down the road and a little bit smaller on the inside. People are pretty friendly and the people actually working in the beer section seem to be relatively knowledgeable. The selection is about on par with the other Beverage SuperStore, maybe not quite as many bombers but the cold beer selection is respectable.“

“Nice big shop with a great selection. Better than a few of the other growler shops in the area. Every time I’ve been in the person working the counter has been very friendly and helpful. More than willing to let you sample a few beers. Prices are pretty standard for the area. Overall this place is great. I wish it wasn’t out of the way otherwise I’d frequent them more often.“

Catch A Draught (Beer Store)

“Small growler fill shop with about 10 taps and like 6 bottles. Definitely a locals place, and a good one to have nearby, but for traveling through there’s not much to bring you in. The dude working the counter was genuinely nice and seemed to enjoy his job. Picked up a glass and a bottle of Red Rock from Utah, which unfortunately was old and oxidized and ended up down the drain.“

“Seems like an average store. A lot of expired bottles. A lot of dusty bottles as well. Very few singles / bombers in the cooler. I walked out without buying anything.“

“This resturant is formerly Old Towne Tavern. under new ownership. Had a horrible experience there note that it was only a weeks or two after they opened. the food was very badly cooked. the owner was gracious and took care of it, but it left such a bad taste in our mouth we wont be going back.“

“Big liquor store feel, with the beer stashed in the back in coolers and a line of shelves. The employees seemed to be actively trying to avoid me. The selection is respectable, but nothing I haven’t seen elsewhere. The prices are a little high, and they don’t have singles. Unless you live nearby, I wouldn’t bother with this place.“

“Big, open growler shop, The employees were very efficient and friendly. Same good selection as the other ones. Standard pricing. A nice store. A little out of the way for me, but I would return, if it were convenient.“

“Standard Taco Mac. Far too many TVs, subdued decor, and loud music. The service was spotty, but not bad. Unfortunately, they were out of the first two beers I wanted, despite the beer menu, but the selection is still very good, and the prices are on the low side of average. No complaints.“

“This place aight. They got enough beer to where I will find something I want to drink and prices are quite good. The bomber selection is okay, not very extensive. I’d like more 6 packs in the cooler also. But the major quality breweries available in the Atlanta area are fairly well represented here.“

“liquor, wine and beer store with a lot of good craft beer including Lost Abbey, Founders, Bells, Stone, Dogfish, Allagash, Ommegang and many more... a lot in coolers with a few shelves of non-cooler space. average prices... service seems to be very accommodating on special orders, etc. some stuff will linger around a bit longer here than other stores, and they get most special releases like Lost Abbey Red Poppy...“

“I have only been to the place a couple of times, but I thought it was quite nice. It mostly a liquor/wine joint, but they do take some pride in their beer selection. They have a lot of cooler chilled 6 packs, many bombers, 750s, seasonals, one time releases, etc. They even get some of the hard to get stuff like CBS, KBS, HopSlam, etc. They certainly have enough of a selection that it would take you a very long time to get board with it if this was your go to. And very impression for this section of town. Only reason I rate not as high, because my standards are the Hop Citys of the world.“

“Not a terrible place. The food is good. I’ve had the wings and the French onion soup, both of which are tasty. The places is nice in a kind of community park area with lots of restaurants around. A Mellow Mushroom is just down the block, but if you’re looking for more than pizza give this a try. At the tables the waitresses are very nice, but not very knowledgeable. At the bar, we’ve had some trouble. The bar keep girls know next to nothing about beer and appear to try and use their appearance to garner larger tips than by actually being good bartenders. One of them gave me a dirty look when I asked for a glass that was not frozen for my IPA. Overall a good place, just don’t go to the bar unless you really like that kind of crowd.“

“Decent selection. They had about 7 Lost Abbey beers, 4 Mikkeller Black Hole variations, a few New Belgium (la Folie), lots of local stuff. I was there about 15 minutes and was asked by a couple employees if I was finding everything I needed and if I needed any help. Prices were reasonable. I will definately go back when I’m in the area.“

Taco Mac - Suwanee (Restaurant)
3443 LAWRENCEVILLE-SUWANEE ROAD
“50 taps with only a handfull of BMC, lots of bottles. Nice selection, bunch of locals, a few Belgians. I went on a Monday night, so it wasn’t crowded and the bartender was pretty attentive. Drafts were reasonably priced at $5-$8. There was one annoying guy at the bar downing pints of Guinness telling everyone how it was "so thick and heavy" and "it’s like drinking a meal". He was pretty amusing.“

Taco Mac - Suwanee (Restaurant)
3443 LAWRENCEVILLE-SUWANEE ROAD
“Ah, Suwano Mac. All Taco Mac locations essentially boil down to: booths, bar, ONE THOUSAND televisions. The food is pretty tasty, plentiful, and reasonably priced for bar grub. Typically, I go for their Turkey and Swiss Panini or Havana Cuban (until discontinued) or Smothered Kettle Chips (until discontinued). Okay, so, I guess it’s just the Turkey and Swiss Panini for me! The service, as is true for any bar, ranges from adequate to proficient. This is another reason for sitting at the bar, as it expedites the bar-getting process, plus the bar staff is usually a bit more knowledgeable, beerwise, as they spend their shifts stationed right next to the taps and coolers. I find their draft prices to be wholly acceptable and cannot remember a single time I balked at the bill, though their prices on large-sized, imported bottled beer can be a bit high and knee-buckling (particularly with the shape of the economy). Now, I’d wager their bread and butter is the sale of macros, the Budmilloors stuff, and in catering to that particular crowd they serve their beers in extremely frozen glasses, so be sure to ask the staff for a non-chilled glass. The parking situation for this particular location is acceptable, as it’s a stand alone building with it’s own parking lot wrapped around the joint. Overall, it doesn’t display the grace, finesse, and the rich experience that a trip to the Brick Store Pub can provide, but, for those of us facing long drives to Decatur, a Taco Mac, with their many locations, will do in a pinch. This particular unit, regrettably, only has 50 beers available on-tap. According to the bartender, they’re limited due to some silly city ordinance. I cannot verify the veracity of that statement, but that certainly sounds like Bible Belt rules to me! So, with one beer-hand tied behind their back, the selection is somewhat bleak. Though, at the time of my visit, they had Victory Yakima IPA, Victory Wild Devil, Terrapin Dark Side, Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter, so, at least they’re not simply sticking to only Budmilloors fare. However, the Buford location is only one exit further and sports 100 beers on draught (plus the beer engine), if you’re in need of a few more choices.“

Beverage SuperStore (Beer Store)
2820 LAWRENCEVILLE-SUWANEE RD.
“Located just off of I-85 in Gwinnett County, Beverage SuperStore offers a respectable range of craft beer offerings including, of course, a nice representation of the Georgia breweries. Plenty of Stone, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose, Victory, vintage J.W. Lees Harvest Ale, and Dogfish Head, as well as some smaller, lesser known breweries like Warbird and Saint Somewhere. Prices were fairly comparable to most store in and around the Atlanta area. Also, I found the staff to be friendly, which is fairly uncommon for me, as usually liquor store employees are unhelpful, unknowledgeable, surly, and completely deserving of a good, hard slap in the mouth. Not here though, so that’s a plus!“

“This place is like any other TacoMac location. Nothing to big to talk about. Close to the house. Easy to get a decent beer. At times you’ll find the family with the bratty kids running around the place. Prices for the High Grav’s are pretty high. But if you want to get that one beer rated without having to waste money on a crappy 6 pack this is a good place to go. Bailey was our waitress and seemed fairly knowledgeable. 100 BEERS ON DRAFT 250+ IN THE BOTTLE 41 HIGH DEF DISPLAYS 3 HIGH DEF BIG SCREENS “
