“We and when I mean me, I mean me, Loz, my brother Scott and his eldest boy Oscar visited here on Saturday 6th September 2014 whilst camping in the Forest of Dean at Bracelands campsite, we cycled here through the forest and then went down the hefty slope to get here. I’d been here a few years back with Loz and her mum and dad so remember it well. The pub is situated on the banks of the River Wye next to the old rope ferry. It is close to the large loop in the river as it goes around the wonderful viewpoint at Yat rock. The pub has been refurbished in recent times, it looks olde worlde from the outside but much newer inside, the layout runs lengthways with inside seating offering great views of the river. There were six handpumps for beer and one for cider with Wye Valley, Kingstone and Bespoke all local breweries on offer. parking (albeit limited in high season) outside or you could walk, cycle or even canoe/kayak here. Overall a pleasant pub in a beautiful spot.“

“Nice renovated inn, restaurant and pub located right above the river. Really cool feel but doesn’t quite add up. Food was just ok, nice menu. Interesting tap selections, well done.“

“Lovely pub situated right on the banks of the river Wye. Newly furnished inside the premises. Six beers on tap and all seem looked after. The beers do rotate seasonal.Top quality Wye Valley HPA on tap all year. You can eat in a pub environment or in a more restaurant feel. The food is very good. The only downside to this would be the pub has gone rather expensive, both for the price of the beer and the menu. If you go to the otherside of the river the HPA is cheaper.“
