| 34 /100 Old Hall Inn (Bar) MAIN STREET “Reviewed during lockdown release phase 2, indoors drinking, socially distanced. This is an old dales inn on the edge of a small village just outside of Grassington situated on the main road into Wharfedale. Large comfortable rooms, you currently require to book to be indoors though. Rather an officious manner to the staff about Covid, really we don't need lectures after all that we have been through. The beer range is particularly dull when you think what is available. Didn't really linger too long.“ |

This is an ex Gamekeepers Lodge at the centre of a caravan and mobile home park, which is much better than it may sound. Visitors seek the place out from off the park, bookings to dine are recommended as it has a very good reputation locally. They serve 4 Real Ales under normal circumstances and it is well kept. A couple of nationals and a couple of rotating local beers. It's a touch upmarket and hotel lobby in it's approach but it's fine.“ |
| 70 /100 Old Hall Inn (Bar) MAIN STREET “To the west of and close to the slightly larger village of Grassington, this pub lies on the main road heading north-south in the eastern part of the Dales. It occupies a fine position on the road directly opposite a well kept and fenced village green that demands photographing if you are a visitor. The pub itself oozes quality just from its attractive exterior look, and this country inn does not disappoint with a marvelous interior that allows you to fully relax in traditional surroundings. Dogs are allowed and will like the dual open stove fireplace in front of the bar. There’s plenty of seats in several rooms either side of the bar, one specifically set up for dining, although food can be taken anywhere. Food is also worth ordering here! There’s a fair amount of parking in front of the building but plenty more at the rear. To the side of the building is a fenced and hedged garden area as well as a children’s play area that is also secured to keep the little ones in, although there is distinct lack of any objects to help stimulate play. There’s several real ales to choose from including from North Yorkshire’s own Theakston’s brewery.“ |
