“Five beers on tap, including their own IPA made by Færder Mikrobryggeri. In addition, their beer menu had 11 on cans and bottles, four of them from Cervisiam. A restaurant with beautiful seaside location just over the foot bridge in a short walk from the city center. I had a very well made fish n` chips here. Fair prices and friendly service. “Apollon in Tønsberg is located right in the central part of town at the pedestrian way towards the town square. Decent place with a live scene to the rear, vinyl records along the walls and seating, benches and high stools, close the the entrance. And, of course, the serving bar with 26 taps. They do sample tray with five beers, each with 200ml. During my stay early on a Saturday afternoon there was first a soundcheck by a local band called ManBand, and after that the friendly waiter played great music from the "Hackney Diamonds" album by the Rolling Stones. This is what I call a great beer drinking session in the right kind of atmosphere. Btw, they have closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Open from 12:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. “In my opinion by far the best place for ratebeerians in Tønsberg. Solid beer selection. Mainly bottles. It s in Norway….so Norwegian prices. Just cross the pedestrian bridge in the harbor and you are there. Nice location and a fine patio when the sun is up and going. Good food is a fine bonus!“

“In the basement of Farmanstredet Shopping Mall. 3 min walk from the main square. Not really a big selection. Disappointing actually. I had some hope of getting some new from Færder brewery. They only had one local beer….“

“Nice cousy typical Irish pub. The beer scene is what you can except. 2 min walk from the main square and 2 min from the harbor.“

“Came here mainly to try their excellent selection of craft beers. In addition to a very extensive bottle menu, they also have some quite exclusive stuff on tap - at quite reasonable prices by Norwegian standards. Some really good stuff by To Øl (on tap!) and Barcelonas Edge Brewing (bottles only). Food menu is mainly US-influenced with burgers and BBQ, but with some creative twists. Food is very very pricey, but really that not special. Service is a bit up and down, with some young waitresses quite clueless wrt the beer menu, but got a particularly good response from the more senior male staff who were knowledgeable about their beer. Visited late Saturday afternoon, and found the place packed with young couples some with small children - still very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Central seaside location just across the footbridge, on the quieter western side of the harbour. Spacious outside seating area, overlooking the water. Evening reservations probably required. Delighted to find such an excellent gastropub in sleepy Tønsberg.“

“Nice burger joint in every sense of the term. Really loved the food, delicious Thai inspired burger, fresh and tasty with good Parmesan-parsley fries and chipotle sauce. Beer on draft was ok, 4-5 taps mostly of To Ol beers and German Erdinger. Bottles selection was good, did not see much in terms of many local beers, settled for a Swedish beer which still came to about 9€. Good to sit outside with view on the old docks across the river and the viking ship works. A top place for craft beer which shines more by it’s bottle selection.“

“At the entrance of the Farmanstredet mall. Again, a rather thin and disappointing beer selection even in local standards. I got more of the Faeder beer selection in Drammen than here when the brewery is 300 meters away. Find most of the main and bigger Norwegian names, Nogne, Haand, some Aegir, other bigger Euro names and US names along with some small US can offerings that I also saw in other Vinmonopolet.“
