“Fairly large pub-restaurant located near the harbour area. They have an award winning fish & chip place next door and a more premium seafood restaurant upstairs. They have 3 cask ales on, most of which are from the local brewery An Teallach.“

“The FBI is an Ullapool institution. It has a great waterside location and is pretty much always full. There is tiny bar area that serves up to 3 cask ales, but don’t expect anything exciting just stuff like Deuchers. Come here for the regular live music and atmosphere. I have also stayed here in the past and found it a rather enjoyable experience.“

“Nice and cosy on the seafront of Ullapool, Scotland. Pub atmosphere and restaurant quality food, with some nice Ales. Very enjoyable place.“

“Pretty much a real ale tradition in these parts, don’t expect time to have moved on much in the last 25 years, Deuchars IPA is about as exciting as it is likely to get.“

“The place was very crowded so we had to wait at the patio. They had three cask ales, at least two of them were local brews, An Teallach brewery. Ales were average as well as the food. Not sure if I’d visited it again if I had an alternative.“

“Great modern Scottish restaurant located on the waterfront. This is my favourite restaurant in Ullapool, the seafood is delicious! You can either go to the formal dining room or the more casual bar area. They usually have a small selection of local An Teallach beers on cask if that floats your boat. Otherwise they have good coffee and whisky!“

“Fairly large pub-restaurant located near the harbour area. They have an award winning fish & chip place next door and a more premium seafood restaurant upstairs. They have 3 cask ales on, most of which are from the local brewery An Teallach. There is also rare Scottish keg delights such as Tennents Ember…. To be honest I come to this place for the whisky selection, as they have 150+ on offer. Quite a popular place, so gets pretty busy at the weekend.“

“Probably the best place for cask ale in Ullapool. The Argyll hotel is located one street back from the waterside, almost directly behind the Ferry Boat Inn. It’s a traditional Scottish hotel bar, with a solid selection of beer. There are 4 Scottish cask ales and some bottles, including at least 5 ciders. They have a good whisky and gin selection also. There is live music on numerous nights every week. A solid pub all-round.“

“The FBI - has undergone some change in recent years with new owners. In the past it used to have bar stools and low tables. Now it looks a bit cramped and makes it hard for a band to play an instruments as it is all rather packed. Has the usual drinks on so nothing special but it is the place to be in Ullapool. Always a good laugh when you pass by.“

“It’s not just a bar. It’s an inn. The bar is not large, but it can hold 30 people and a musician. The trick is to enter from the North door - cause the bar is on the North side and the musician(s) will be on the South side - which tends to block the South door. When it is really on, folks go sit on the sea wall across the narrow roadway. It only has 3 or 4 real ales, but that’s more than anywhere else in Ullapool, I’ll wager. Restaurant food was good. When business was slow, staff was talkative. Ambiance is great, especially if you include the bay which is just across the road. It is the place in Ullapool. Spend the night.“
