“Quite big place but quite cold too.. service in the average with young girls dressed in a typical Austrian dress that just make their job but fair enough.. the food was just decent .. we tried a dunkel and a pils ( the pils was terrible ) .. come here just if you’re in town doesn’t worth a detour“

“I think the previous review must have been teething problems, service is fine so far, place is clean and tidy, and a menu comprehensively lists and describes the bottled beers. More modern in appearance than next door, and brightly lit. 5 taps, but only 3 in use, 2 Villacher and 1 Schleppe. 4 Schleppe bottles in fridge behind bar, and about a dozen other Austrian craft and a few world beers in another fridge out of sight. Not many people in but acoustics meant it seemed noisy purely down to a group at far end of the room. Had a few bottles, but as I was alone didn't get through as many as I'd have liked“

“Note new opening hours from May 2017 posted on door: Mo-Th 11-21, Fr-Sa 11-24, SU 11-20. This is just 4 minutes walk from the main Villach station (Hauptbahnhof). It is right next to the Villacher brewery, and the main tap. This seems to be Villachers attempt at a craft bar. I visited on a Friday on a perfect August night at 1830. There was one other person in the bar, but they were not drinking. There were some tables outside, and two tables were occupied. Inside there is a long brick bar, and a separate room. I waited for just under 10 minutes to get served, despite it being dead. There were a couple of dozen dirty glasses stacked on the bar, even when I did get served, the server made zero effort to clear them, how amateurish. The bar had four or five Villacher branded taps, of which three were shown in the menu, Marzen (E3.50), Schleppe Zwickl (E4) and Dunkel (E4). I had the Zwickl and it was fine (3/5). The menu mentioned other bottled beer, but not which beers, let alone prices. There was a fridge behind bar full of different Schleppe beer. There was a display of beer bottles, which included Sierra Nevada, Anchor, Fullers, Sam Smith’s, St Bernadus etc. I didn’t recognise two which may or may not have been Austrian micros. Food seemed limited to four main dishes priced between E9 and E12. If this is Villachers attempt at a craft bar, it is seriously disappointing and a fail as they are not doing the basics of having somebody behind the bar, not clearing up when quiet, and more importantly, not advertising the beers. “

“Tiny shop in the very center of Villach. They offer beers and also other drinks like champagne. I estimate there are around 60 different beers, maybe a bit more. Beer list is mostly based on austrian micro breweries, but also some international ones, most notable some nice Brewfist beers. Prices are a bit on the more expensive side. For Villach definitly a nice addition, but overall selection is a bit small.“

“very nice biergarden just near to the brewery, in the historical center of Villach. here you can find all the brews from Villacher plus some other beers to complete the offer. typical Austrian food mixed with beer recipes, price aligned with austrian restaurants.“

“Good beer garden. I think the Villacher Märzen Zwickel is one of the better ones in Austria. All the beers quite fresh, food good too. Would stop here when close by.“

“A nicely located restaurant by the Villacher brewery, offering 3-4 taps, one of which is reserved for their seasonal available exclusively here. Did not eat nor asked the menu, so can’t judge the food. Only a few tables inside, but it has a nice outer space on a square with some dozen tables, although all of those are small, for drinking only. Nice place to take a break from sightseeing with a special beer.“
