“About 15 minutes from The Alchemist, we decided to pull in for a quick tasting as it's right on the main road. It's a bit confusing when you enter, as there are separate places for a wine tasting, cider tasting, and a retail shop for buying all sorts of local foodstuffs. 3 ciders are available for sampling for $2, or you can do a full flight. If you're hunting ice ciders, better go check out the wine tasting, as they were selling a Boydon Valley ice cider - that made it worth the stop for me, but other than that, pretty forgettable.“

“I took a quick stroll through the gift shop and cider making side. Highlight was watching the press in operation and trying the apple juice from a tank. You can buy the cider from the beer store next door. Tons of parking, even if you're driving a bus“

“A nice stop between Waterbury and Stowe with indoor and outdoor service, along with a general store that has its own bakery and another building with hard cider, a few other offerings (liquer and ice ciders), and gourmet sandwiches. There were three ciders on draft, but two were brand new and not even named yet (just "Cider #1" and "Cider #2"), so I didn’t enter them into the database, as the server said they may change names. We didn’t eat lunch, but the food looked great, and we did have cider donuts, which were outstanding. Worth a stop if you’re passing through, particularly if you’re looking for baked goods, maple syrup, honey, and other VT goodies.“

“Stopped in on my way home for a little excursion out to Stowe. Though I’m not a true cider fan, every now and again, I’ll try some fermented ciders. I didn’t today. Looks like they only keep their cider on tap. Sandwiches looked exceptional. Their cans and bottles seemed like a nice ratio from cider to beer. Some wines too. Value seemed reasonable.“

“nothing special to see here, just a grocery store in Waterbury Center, actually, on the Northside of 89, not sure why I’m even saying anything here other than tickers gotta tick, right, as I would agree with the other two ratebeerians. If worst comes to worst and you’re even too lazy to even go to Crossroads, I guess this place works.“

“Visited on a Wednesday around 2 pm for a late lunch. The place is a big tourist hot spot. The are a regular cider mill as well as delving into the fermented world. The restaurant next to the mill is where you can try the cider along with several other ciders and wines. They also carry around 50 bottles of beer. The lunch we had was pretty good. I had a roast beef wrap and my wife had a chicken pest cheese sandwich. Both were very good. Service at all locations here is excellent despite their obviously heavy load. I would stop in here again even though the house cider isn’t all that great. They have an ice cider you can try in their wine selection, so keep an eye out for that.“

“This place is attached to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill, which we stopped at because my fiancee loves tourist traps and because I love cider and wanted to try some cider donuts. Apparently they also now are making hard cider on a seasonal basis and it’s available in their little on-site restaurant.

The main building is the cider mill and shop. They were not pressing any apples during our visit, but you can see the equipment and watch a little video about it...and sample some of their cider. Lots of souvenir garbage and plenty of things like jam, jelly, mustard, hot sauce, maple syrup, etc. for sale. They also have cider donuts at $0.50 a pop.

In the little restaurant, you can sample the house hard cider and get bottles, growlers, pints, etc. They also have a few other drafts and a couple coolers with some random bottles and cans of other ciders and some beers. The house cider is pretty decent, though nothing earth shattering.

A little bit south is a shopping center which houses a tasting room for Smuggler’s Notch (distillery) and also an outlet store for Cabot cheese (free tastings). Worth a stop there. And of course, Ben & Jerry’s is just a little bit further down the road, too.“

“Honestly, I can see very little reason for this place to be on the site. It’s really just the regional grocery chain and they don’t have that much beer of interest, other than the Von Trapp stuff that Radek Kibler mentioned, but even those beers are available pretty much everywhere in the area.

The only reason we even stopped here, actually, was to get a cooler, some ice, and some snacks for the remainder of our road trip. Mainly because grocery stores seemed kind of sparse in this part of the world. I only noticed after the fact that it had been added as a place on RateBeer.“

“Good stop if you are with family as they sell other gourmet items on the other side of parking. They do have small tasting room for ciders. Food was decent.“

“Big grocery shop with decent beer selection. They offer make your own 6-PACK with Von Trapp beers. so thats cool for tickers. If you are in to grab food this might be your stop. Beyond that. there are many better places just 10 minutes away (by car).“

“Deli affiliated with Cold Hollow Cidery (which makes only N/A ciders). Recently added a craft beer nook to the store, which makes them Rate Beer worthy. As of now the nook consists primarily of a selection of Vermont beers and ciders, plus a few localish meads. Quite a few ciders are represented. Food was good, service a bit slow.“
