“lunch visit ... parking was on wayne ave with parking kiosk ... long bar with booth seating on right side ... bar taps in the middle with scotchs on the whole left side of the bar and bourbon all on the right extensive menus for both ... beer offering had lots of rarer but simple Belgians and a few US micro and local brews ... you definitely come here for the food but the beer offering is very solid ... the menu is very eccentric, but well put together ... it was very hard to pick just one thing to eat the lamb kebab was insane and bunny bites were different ..... had a bottle list with a lot of common brews but I scored some super rare Abyss cognac and abyss Whiskey bottles with 20% for take out .... bartender was sweet, knowledgeable and gave great food recommendations .... very clean place and the food and beer service were prompt ... if this wasn’t out of the way I would come here very often .... the reputation definitely did not disappoint and the prices were very fair“

“As a restaurant this place gets high marks. Highly inventive fair like rabbit tenders, pulled goat and a ham and suck sandwich. Fries are a bit of a downer as I wish they were crunchier. Prices are a bit off as if you want a sandwich and fires its around $17. The draft list was heavy with Belgian stuff I don’t care about. Sadly no HF on, but they had Pliny and Blind Pig. I’d come here knowing you’re going to have a good meal, and if it happens to have a good beer by happy, but I wouldn’t venture to just get beer.“

“recent visit for lunch..been trying to get here for years...parking isn’t a problem with pay lots across street..place is split in two...went right upon walkin in..long bar that runs most of the place with tables parralel to bar..proper glassware galore and a pretty stellar draft list and bottle list..one of few places in world where you can get de garre on draft..russian river and hill farmstead were available as well but nothing exceptional from both on my visit..food really was good, cheese plate was well put together, got 3 cheeses with 1 meat..american type country ham benton from tn i believe which was excellent...cheese board was great but would be nice if you could get a price fix 3 cheeses 2 meats deal for about 25 bucks...board seemed pricey but was good..apparently on Sunday they have 1/2 price cheeses..mussels, tacos, chicken kebob, and burger were all very tasty..really liked that I could get a taster sample of a few things..beer prices are really pretty good for some world class stuff..bit bummed that they didn’t have a few more HF selections, or that a Cantillon reserve bottle wasn’t an option, but hey it is nice to have expectations..stayed with the Belgian theme and had a De La Senne and also a Russian River draft..All in all for my book this place lived up to the hype..the bottle list had a few really well priced gems that those in the know can spot out for sure...can see how this might be mobbed around dinner time..worth a visit for sure...“

“Came for the special pre-superbowl Saturday event. Only a couple miles of 476 so fairly easy to get to. Parking mehhh, but i dont mind walking. Overall small but clean place. Just booths and the bar. No TVs. Not sure what they usually have on draft but this was nice line up. 6 Russian River beers, Hill Farmstead plus others. No complaints there... Food wise, I had a gyro/kabab which was tasty. Food menu is a little different which I can appreciate it. Clean uni-sex bathrooms. I even got a small growler of supplication to take home... F**k yeah!“

“Lunch stop before leaving town. Parked around the corner at a pay spot. Not busy at lunchtime. Great service. Taplist was impressive but no real whales on it. They did have a gueuze on tap, plus a Hill Farmstead offering. Didnt check the bottle list. They did have pours of Xyauyu Gold which was nice cause I was dreading the $50 bottle cost for that one. Food was decent. Overall a good experience and one I would be happy to repead“

“Just a hop, skip and jump from Wayne train station. The bricked building is inconspicuous from the outside but upon entering is a different story. The Belgian bar to the right is a real treat. Excellent beer selection with a few local breweries on offer as well as the likes of Russian River, JP etc. I had delicious escargot and scallop brochette to eat. The bartender was very attentive and gave prompt service throughout. Impressive glassware selection lining the bar wall and also a great selection of whisky. This was another highlight in PA.“

“When you walk in you’re given the option of Belgian or Italian as you either walk left or right. I opted for "next door" (Belgian). The draft list was solid with a good mix of local beer, is craft beer and Belgians. I opted for some captain Lawrence as I don’t get up to the northeast very often. The food was incredible. I would highly recommend the bunny bites which are super spicy crunchy and delicious. I got the Thai ginger version. I followed that up with an order of hobbit ribs which were good but paled in comparison to the bunny bites. The bar is long and there is a trendy vibe. The service was semi slow and relaxed but once I got my beer, things started rolling along nicely. Overall a good experience.“

“Stopped here recently while taking a scenic drive back from DC to northern NJ. Actually after reading the reviews on RateBeer I pretty much rearranged my drive to accomodate a visit here...and boy was it worth it! If you’ve read any of the reviews you already know about the unique setup...Italian restaurant one side (with all beers available from the other side), and Belgium restaurant and beer bar on the other. What amazed me about this place was not just the huge bottle list...or even how strong it was from a Belgium perspective...but just the overall knowledge this place (i.e. staff) has and the incredibly large selection of correct glasswear. It doesn’t stop there though. This is an authentic Belgium menu and I highly recommend this food...especially if you think Belgians only eat two things (frites & mussels). I would say that eating (and drinking) here is not cheap...but I would also say it’s worth every penny for the amazing experience. This is clearly a destination craftbeer bar you should go out of your way for or plan a special trip to. You can also couple a visit here with a trip to Victory Brewing in nearby Downingtown.“

“Wow! I’m not sure if I’ve ever been to a better beer bar than this! An incredible beer menu with very good servers that are quite beer savvy. They also feature a pretty exotic and delicious food menu. The beers are very fairly priced as well. I go to try Ale Smith’s Speed Way, Russian River’s Pliny, and Baladin’s Xyauyu amongst a few other in 1 sitting!!! Incredible!“

“By far the best place I went to on my last visit to the philly area. You walk in and you can go 2 different directions; on the left is I think Italian and on the right Belgian. I choose wisely and went right. I was by myself and hoping for a bar spot but it was a busy Thursday and the bar was packed so I grabbed a table. Service was a little slow but from then on it was good. The beer selection was pretty good and I went with a Nugget Nectar and a Union Jack. The food was great! I tried the Mussels and then the Gyro and both were awesome. Cool place and I would go back if in the burbs again.“

“Reviewing a Pennsylvania bottle shop is always tough because the beer laws still SUCK in this state. Am I just happy to be able to get a decent selection of beer in 6-packs at a grocery store - oh boy how exciting - thank you Pennsylvania legislature! - or do i rate it against a decent bottle shop in a "normal" state, for beer purchases, like Maryland, where 50% of Pennsylvanians buy beer anyway? So I will be tough and compare this Whole Foods with say, State Line Liquor, in Maryland. How does it stack up? Decent selection of beers, and yes, oh boy, I can buy in 6-pack and not be force to purchase a whole friggin case. But was there anything that got me excited? no. This place has a decent selection of say, founders, lagunitas, all the regional breweries. but they were out of maine brewing co, the reason i went, and nothing i had not seen before. if you are driving by, I would check it out, but it does not rise to the level of a destination retailer. i left with nothing really worth worth the trip. I give it an overall higher rating because they DID have 6 decent beers on tap, and that was pretty cool.“

“A Belgian style restaurant on the bar side. I have been going to Teresa’s Next Door off and on for years. I have been there when the place was empty as well as when there were 30 people waiting outside for a table. Very good, ever changing, well rounded beer selection (good wine selection too). Check their website for bottle & draft beers. http://www.teresas-cafe.com/TNDOnTap.htm My menu favorites: cheese & charcuterie, bunny bites, Moules-frites and chocolate chip waffles topped with crème. I tend to order the same items so I don’t know about other menu items. I use to travel in to Philly to a very popular spot if I wanted Moules-frites and Belgian beers. I don’t bother going in to Philly anymore. The quality of Teresa’ mussels has improved over the years for the better. I don’t know what changed but it was for the best. The place isn’t outrageous in price for the quality of food and beer/wine selection but it isn’t cheap. I don’t go there to eat on the cheap . Wait staff is good. Bartenders are really knowledgeable in beer and wines. Tables turn quickly. No reservations are taken – just walk ins. I have found over the years that they cannot accommodate a party 6 or more. I went there with 6 people on two different occasions, the tables in the front window were free, no waiting list and the hostess refused to put us all in front together. Only offered us three tables for two around the restaurant. No big deal, we went down the road. I would call ahead and reconfirm if this still is the case if you plan to go as a group.“

“This place is really a Belgian style restaurant with a long bar that runs the length of the place. Crowded but comfortable on a Saturday night, most people at the bar were waiting for tables - but sampling an amazing selection of draft and bottled beers while they did. Staff was very good, generous with the samples, and had good beer and food recommendations. Definitely worth the easy trip from Philly. Best selection of Russian River - draft and bottles - on the East Coast.“

“Unassuming small town in PA with a world-class beer bar. Selection was completely insane when I was there. Literal tap list was 5 Russian River sours, Pliny, Blind Pig, Lost Abbey Angels Share, Deliverance, Older Viscosity, Hill Farmstead Arthur and Anna, Grassroots Sankt Hands (never seen before on tap in my life), Peche Mortel on Cask! Bottle list impressive, you can get bottles to go at 20% discount. Food looked insane like dry aged Wagyu beef burger (!) but we had just eaten at Tired Hands. Nice, wooden, long bar to sit at or tables. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Ridiculous place that I will return to many times before I move to California. Value was great, all the tap beers were $7.50 despite many being insanely rare and high abv.“

“I have stopped in here a few times now, figure it is time for a review. Not sure how much atmosphere a pub in a grocery store is supposed to have so I will just ignore that part. Quality is fairly high. They serve in the correct glasses and the beers are all very nice. Service has always been good for me. The guy at the front is always willing to help and he really knows his stuff. Selection, compared to the other grocery store bottle shops in the area, is quite good. They have quite a few tasty, and sometimes rare, bottles kicking around. I found a couple awesome gueuze’s for a more than reasonable prices. Overall an awesome bottle shop option when you are in the area. Worth a shot for sure.“

“A classy and comfortable bar and restaurant located not far from a couple of universities. The tasteful surroundings and low-key lighting are a little unusual for the craft beer scene, but beer is not all this place has to offer. There are some intriguing items on the menu, although I must admit I was a little disappointed with the size and freshness of my elk burger. The beer list had a number of exciting choices on draft and a lot of bottles too. It deserves to be (and is) one of the Philly area’s top brew destinations.“

“Visited yesterday before heading into Tired Hands. Ambiance was nice. Very long bar with plenty of seating. That reminded me a bit of the Moeder Fontainas location in Brussels. AMAZING selection of glassware behind the bar. That goes into ambiance, but will also be included in selection. Service was spectacular. The bartender was funny, engaging, and clearly into good beer. Draft selection was fantastic, with a nice mixture of import and domestic. All quality. We didn’t really eat, so I can’t comment there, though I will compliment the cheese that came with the Tripel van de Garre. Gret value and overall just a very fun place. This will become a go-to stop for us.“

“Located just off the exit inside of whole foods. They offer 6 taps or craft at really good prices for this area. The focus is on craft which makes sense given whoe foods mission. They had a lot of local and regional stuff but also some Mikeller, nogne 0, Nebraska, Maine brewing, etc. the staff were super-enthusiastic to share their beer knowledge. They also offer singles and a pick 6. Forget case stores, this is one of the destination spots in Philly.“

“Ate lunch on the Belgian bar side. They have 30 on draft with two on cask. Nice selection of Belgian and English stuff but also several taps for local stuff which is nice to see. The interior was gastropub with lots of polished wood and mood lighting. They also have an extensive bottle list though the organization by color was a bit weird. I was the only one in there so the bartender let me be which is fine. Prices are what you’d expect for mainline. The only thing that annoyed was their zero substitutions vibe but it seems like a nice neighborhood place to share a couple of drinks with friends.“

“mediocre sports-type bar trying to be a touch upscale. Servers and bartenders are patient and accommodating. Have some good things on tap occasionally, but generally most of the common things. Menu is a bit more interesting than the standard sports-bar, but nothing crazy good. I like to go here to watch hockey games because I don’t have a TV subscription. That’s about it.“

“The next door bar is pretty narrow but deep with one side being almost completely taken up by a very long bar with plenty of seating. Behind the bar there are a bunch of shelves full of glassware and a few chalk boards with the draft list on them. Opposite the bar is a bunch of booths to handle the overflow from the bar. The service was good but we had to wait for a while to get a refill when they were standing not even five feet away doing nothing in particular. The quality and selection of food is excellent. They have a great selection of appetizers, seafood, cheese plates, sandwiches, burgers and a few full entree’s. I had a burger with gruyère cheese and Prosciutto. It was awesome but it comes with greens rather than fries so be prepared to pay extra if you want them. The selection of beer was very good. I had a RR Pliny the Elder, Cantillon Saint Lamvinus, and a cask Allagash Black on the hand pump. All were served in the appropriate glasses and they were all awesome. There was still a few more I really wanted to try but I just didn’t have the time. They also have a very large bottle list of beers from around the world. The "rarer" beers are pricey but they are worth every penny. Next time I will get one for sure. Overall, a great bar with good food and even better beer. I will return for sure.“

“Good place. Nice atmosphere, slightly obnoxious staff, but friendly enough to be above average. Fairly knowledgeable and capable of answering questions. Good selection, pricey bottles, but draft tends to be about middle of the road when it comes to pricing. I think there were 12 varieties including 2 casks being poured when I went in the other night. The food was actually the highlight. The drunken mussels and pommes frittes were damn good. I will definitely be back, just not as frequently as if they were a bit less expensive.“

“A little bright and kind of small. Intimate place where you can get to know the people dealing your beer. 6 rotating draft beers, all of which are generally interesting and off the beaten path The bottle selection is nice, and constantly being updated. New items at least twice a week. Prices on all bottles and packs are generally 2 to 3 dollars below anywhere else. Some are lower (Marahaja 22oz bottles sell for 7.50 here, they’re $15- literally twice as much- down the road at TJ’s in Malvern). Their value rating is at 100 because I’ve never seen lower prices anywhere else in the area. Regardless, selection is good, the guys working there know what they’re talking about and you can feel real passion and interest from them. Music is always good, the sandwich selections they have in their jewel-case are pretty good, but you also have a whole store full of food to choose from. Overall, just fix the blinding lights and keep up the good work.“

“Went here for Sunday Brunch. Wow. Gourmet cheeses for half price and a beer menu to die for. Had Hill Farmstead Abner and Double Citra but they also had Pliny and Blind Pig and a whole slew of Belgian stuff I hadn’t even heard of. It’s a sort of upscale hipster kind of place, with a lot of fancy stuff on the menu (lamb, buffalo and other weird meats), but lots of normal good looking stuff, too. All that I ate were the half price (Sunday) cheeses, but everything else looked delicious. Great stuff.“

“Came here to burn some time during Jess’ reunion weekend. Rates seemed great for this place and for good reason. Sat at the bar and the tap list was most excellent. Offerings from RR, Pizza Port, and even Fantome on tap. Really friendly and knowledgable bartender. Prices were very fair in my opinion. I’d definitely come back here next time we’re around this area. Hopefully sooner than Jess’ next reunion.“

“Nice long bar with plenty of booths and tables. Not much space between the bar and tables so it can get cramped during a rush, especially during beer events. No TVs! Service is fantastic. Bartenders are attentive even when standing two-deep at the bar, and all are very well trained on beer, food, and pairings. Food is excellent. I love the gyro and the rotating wild game burgers, and the bacon-wrapped scallops are some of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Beer selection is great, a large number of Belgian and American drafts, a couple of hand pumps, and an extensive bottle list. Nothing is cheap, but it’s on the Main Line so let’s be real about it. Draft prices aren’t bad, comparable and in some cases better than Capone’s. I think this is my second favorite bar in the world after Max’s in Baltimore. Everything just reeks of awesomeness.“

“I go here for the Belgian beers. The selection is outstanding. They seem to have almost everything Belgian. They pour correctly and the glassware is appropriate. The bartenders are friendly. Atmosphere? Why don’t U.S. "Belgian Bars" act like Belgian bars? The place just isn’t set up for milling around and meeting people. When I’ve been in Belgium people share tables, meet and talk to everyone. They need to overhaul the interior.“

“Talk about a weird place. It’s like walking into a pizza joint in a strip mall and then you walk next door and are met by a 50ft long bar with a ton of cool taps. And then the bottle coolers keep you guessing. I originally came here to pick up some bottles and stayed for a few beers. Talking to the waiter, he was willing to take off the sparkler from the engine and agreed it was unnecessary. Definitely a great place to grab a beer, though it is in the middle of nowhere relative to Philly. Still, awesome place with an awesome selection.“

“Nice upscale beer bar. Often has an allstar line up on draft including Port/Lost Abbey, Russian River, and Bells. Great bottle selection as well. Can be very empty but gets crowded very quickly. My fiance loves to come here in hopes of seeing the alleged Alexander Skaarsgard/Eric Northman look alike bartender, who has evaded us thus far. Food is very good and decently priced. Booths are big enough to accomodate large parties and facilitate a great evening.“

“Convenient, friendly with thought and attention to both their tap and bottle lists. Their website is kept up to date with the tap list which is appreciated. The bartenders are knowledgeable and helpful. They even spend time each day acquainting their wait staff with the day’s offerings (I have seen the manager pour samples and go over them). Their special events are great. On Friday they had a Troegs night (complete with a firkin of Nugget Nectar) and perfect food pairings (I had reindeer stew with Naked Elf), Sunday was DIPA night (NN, Pliny, Ballast Point, etc) and Monday was buck-a-shuck! SWEET! The only downside to this place is how fast you can run up a LARGE tab - whew.“

“This place is fantastic! Outstanding selection of both drafts and bottles, very good/knowledgeable Bartender, and the most impressive Beer Glass collection I have ever seen - stretches 6 feet high and 60 feet long - length of the entire bar. Did not eat there but the food looked and smelled really good. I had the Racer 5 ale from the Cask (hand pump), Summit IRA, Weyerbacher India, and finished off with a nice Tripel Karmeliat in a bottle. Perhaps the best part of the night was that the Tripel Karmeliet mysteriously followed us to the vehicle afterwards! Can’t wait to visit this place again!“

“Went here with JRedmond and PatFannon. In a nice, family friendly, downtown area with lots of upstale shopping and restaurants nearby. Teresa’s is divided into two areas... the important one is to the right - has the bar and some bench seating. Fairly upscale place. For a Saturday night it was crowded but waited at the bar over pints for about 45minutes until a table freed up. About 20 taps.. atleast a hand full I’ve never heard of. More impressive is the bottle menu (discount if having to go) … boasting Port/Lost Abbey, Russian River, Stone, etc. A wide variety of styles too. The bartenders do their best to match the beer to the best corresponding glass. Food is outstanding.. We had the Pomme Frites, Mussels (A++), and Meat/Cheese/Fruit sampler. All were large portions and reasonable. A great bar and restaurante.. Worth the trip outside of the city.“
