Blue Ridge Beer Hub (Beer Store)
21 EAST STREET
“It is a great place with a large selection. Beer not often found in the mountains of Western North Carolina outside of Asheville. A bonus is the 6 rotating taps found onsite.“

“We went here for some friends’ wedding rehearsal dinner. I really like the laid back, dog and kid friendly vibe here. Very comfortable, great service, and the back patio overlooking the river alone make it a worthwhile stop. Really fun stop.“

“As the address implies right on Main Street downtown parking can be tricky. Medium sized seating area as you enter with a long bar area as well. Flights of 4 available. $$ don’t remember. Beers ranged from solid to very good. No WIFI at this time. Bartender knew his beers well. If you can only stop at one place in Waynesville I would stop here. Many shops and restaurants located within a short walk. Nice place“

Sunburst Market (Grocery Store)

“Small grocery store just up the street from Tipping Point Tavern. Beer selection is small but local. Main selling point is that they car a large selection of Frog Level bottles, in case the brewery itself is closed.“

“This is an incredible re-use of an industrial space, and the back patio with tables all the way down to the river was very pleasant. Hints of industry are still churning away a bit upstream, but face the other way and it’s very relaxing. The beers are tasty and creative. Nice aroma from the coffee place next door too. Very worthwhile stop.“

“This place was a great find during a random tour of rural NC breweries. Cool music, great beer, darts. It looks like they sometimes have live music. From the outside it’s a warehouse, but inside has a cool feel.“

“I really liked BearWaters. It’s on a small industrial estate but has a tiny, welcoming doorway. Inside there are various wall paintings, including a mural showing a lakeland scene so you could almost imagine yourself in the mountains. Behind the small stage at one end there’s a painting of a bear in a beer glass flanked by musical notes and a paddle which serves as a hanger for the many medals BearWaters beer has won in the short time since the brewery was established. The paintings were all done by Kevin, a very nice chap who owns the brewery. He and his brother are keen kayakers / canoeists so there are also some plastic kayaks hanging from the ceiling and some attractive photos of watery scenes. There were 12 of their beers on tap, all of which were rather drinkable. (Visited 10 February 2014).“

“Located in a warehouse down a road with a dead end sign. It has an outdoors theme with a kayak hung up behind the bar. It kind of reminded me of Nantahala Brewing. They had 9 of theirs on tap plus a guest tap, the beers were solid enough and they were reasonably priced.“

“Great totally laid back place to have a brew. Staff is friendly and a dog Gypsy is running around. They even let you bring your dog. Food is limited to hot dogs and pretzel sticks. Free basketball and fooseball. I thought the beer was very good particularly the winter warmer and stout. They have a high gravity IPA. I’m not an IPA guy so didn’t try it. They sell grolwlers but only of their low gravity beers. Thought beer was a good value. Patrons are all friendly. About 8 of their beers but only one guest tap.“

“They have done a great job with this space in a warehouse complex. once inside, you’d never know that it is indeed a warehouse. There’s a long wooden bar, some tables and couches for seating. Two TV’s are behind the bar and they have free foosball, darts, and a basketball hoop set up for entertainment. hot dogs and chips are available for some munchies. The beer selection was pretty decent. The hoppy styles could’ve been hoppier, but the porter and the rye were both completely enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back here for a pint when I’m in town.“

“Nice renovation to a relatively industrial space. Local art, cool brick walls. Small brewing set up but from the look of things I’m sure he’s just getting started. Tasting bar is fine and lengthy with a space for music in the corner (live celtic music was being played by about 7 people when we were there. The back deck is very nice. Shaded seating with a little creek running along the back. Peaceful. The beers were ok and there was not that much selection but again, seems like he’s just getting started. I think it’s a great addition to Waynesville and I will be back to check on his progress next time I’m in the area.“

“I love what the owner has done with this space. The tasting room could not be more tasteful. Lovely artwork adorns the walls and furnishings are comfortable and trendy. There is a lovely wooden deck by the creek to boot. Four beers are available and they are solid. Three taps are usually something fairly standard for craft brew and one tap is dedicated to more adventurous styles. Growlers are available. The brewer was here working alone and was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is a must stop if one is in the area.“
