THE GEORGE INN, CHURCH ST
“Не дурный магазин крафтового пива. Есть даже пару уникальных стилей. Сайт понятен и хорошо работает, много новинок. Слегка не хватает классики.“

“Taken here by friends on Monday, 13th November 2023. Old dilapidated barn with about eight people drinking, helping or just hanging around (14:00 ish). Met the Cider Maker who blended us three medium's from the sweet and dry barrels, they were pressing on the visit, so we watched the juices run as we drank while chatting to Roger Wilkin's. This is a proper Cider Farm at it's best (but don't tell the Health & Safety department), a real throw back into history, one table and maybe six old chairs, we stood. Very cheap and exceedingly friendly set up, nice blend too, just don't lean up against anything and wear old cloths' when going.“

“Nice little beer shop / taproom kind of hidden away within the side yard of The George Inn, which may or may not be run by the same family. This is very much focussed on modern, craft-focussed breweries, mostly cans, with many of the larger players represented. Unfortunately I have a rule to only drink local when away from home, so struggled to find many options. However, others will be more than happy with the range here. There are around five beers on tap covering a range of styles - IPA, dark and novelty sour - but was too early for me. Seats outside to drink.“

“loved by joe strummer and lots of other earthy stars that have decamped to the west country. great ambience, its nearly impossible to not join in and stay far to long! dry or sweet cider on offer or med(mix of the two) left foot wellies in a big pile and plenty of tractor parts. ciders free as long as you buy some to take away or some great local cheese.“

“We were in the Wells area for a wedding and felt the strong urge to go visit a proper cider farm. Wilkin’s is the absolutely epitome of such a place. It is located deep in the Somerset countryside, yet is only about 20 minutes’ drive west of Wells. It would be easy to miss the turn-off had it not been for a very weathered hand-written sign right underneath the turn-off for Mudgley. The farm is a collection of old buildings of wood and corrugated Iron construction. We were greeted by a friendly weather-beaten, cider-consuming chap who turned out to be the one and only Roger Wilkin’s. He showed us indoors to slightly dilapidated building were delicious traditional cider flows aplenty. He pours his cider direct from large wooden barrels in the form of dry and sweet. If you want medium he will blend it right there on the spot. Cider consumption on-site was actually free! Proper bonkers. I found the cider to be of exceptional quality and I have had nothing like it to date. We chatted with Roger for quite some time and he was full of rather interesting stories about his past and the history of cider making. Cider is available for takeaway in containers from 2 litres all the way up to polypins. Impressive value. Truly an exceptional place and if you are a fan of cider I implore you to visit.“

“This is the cider farm visited by Jamie Oliver. When we got there we were unsure who was running the place and who was there just drinking or working. We were soon greeted by Roger Wilkins who is a top bloke. Cider is free when drunk on site and you just help yourself. I’ve never been to a place like it and would certainly go again“
