“Heritage listed pub a couple of minutes walk from what passes for the centre of Wednesfield (a Wetherspoons !). It’s on the main road, but set back – just continue walking away from Wolverhampton. A 1930s pub in a style that is a cross between Dutch and Art Deco. Nowadays it has a large outdoor drinking area, including a marquee, in front of it. On entering, the public bar is on the left and the “smoke room” is on the right. I believe there is a snug at the rear too. I’ve only been in the public bar – which is doen out in typical Black Country Ales style. Cream walls with local prints, long settles round the outside, tables and cstools to the inner. The bar has 10 handpumps, serving the usual Black Country selection, 3 of their own beers, a couple of ciders and 4 or 5 guests. Beer quality reasonable. I assume they serve the usual fresh cobs. Serve was a bit slow on my last visit, due to there being only one member of staff on duty. This is a pretty good pub – but I’m finding it hard to be too enthusiastic. Certainly worth visiting if in the area. “

“A bit off the beaten track but well worth the trek. Such a traditional boozer, like going back 100 years. A friendly landlord who knows his beers and supports many new microbreweries. Cannot recommend highly enough.“

“A CAMRA heritage pub and also a cracking pub to boot. Friendly landlord and a cracking range of ales. Definitely worth seeking out.“

“Average wetherspoons. 10 cask ales. A lot of locals drink here, I used to drink here a lot when I worked in Wednesfield.“

“Situated on the High Street of Wednesfield with market stalls opposite the small commercial centre during the days its on this has a local feel and a traditional Wetherspoon look, it’s big enough to cope with the football though and for warmer times there is a patio at the rear. Two rows of ale pumps to choose from and the standard fair.“
