68 /100 George Inn (Bar) LONG STREET, CROSCOMBE The George Inn is a pretty pub by the roadside in the village of Croscombe. It’s light and open, but also cosy and homely, with hops festooned around the stone walls. There are six hand pumps with mainly local ales plus local ciders served from boxes. The landlord was very friendly and welcoming.

66 /100 George Inn (Bar) LONG STREET, CROSCOMBE Now this is a serious, fun pub in a little hamlet. Good selection of beers, fun proprietor. Well worth a stop. |
80 /100 George Inn (Bar) LONG STREET, CROSCOMBE Recently won the CAMRA rural pub of the year for this region as well as the Good Pub Guide new pub of the year award in 2008. Excellent rural pub/free house with an Anglo-Canadian proprietor who is a good source of knowledge about the local beer scene. Some unique real ale offerings when we were there include Dawkins Pit Head Porter. Take note the siesta hours. |
