“Towards the northern end of the commercial centre of West Kirby before the road becomes residential as it runs parallel to the world famous Links golf course used in The Open. It's a small looking buildings, but deceptively so as it's quite a large open plan space once inside. The bar is set back from the front of the building on its left hand side and has a healthy mix of cask and keg options, with some ales from their own Spitting Feathers brewery on its hand pumps, but guests are here too. It's has a mostly traditional pub styling, but quite a fresh looking one. It's a couple of minutes walk away from the railway terminus.“

“Friendly local close to West Kirby Station, owned by Spitting Feathers but featuring just one of their own beers, the others are far ranging guests. Comprising of one long room with the bar to the left plus a few chairs and tables out front, handy for taking in the afternoon sunshine. Really worth a trip, I cycled there from the Wirral Country Park Caravan Club Site, easy peasy.“

“West Kirby is a bit of a tourist trap at the end of one of the Merseyrail branch lines on the eastern side of the River Dee Estuary. This pub is in a large mock tudor building and whilst it’s history does not go back that far, it’s clearly a period building of note with some fine features that still exist in its current converted form. It’s an open plan maze of rooms in the traditional Wetherspoon pub style with a decent enough selection of rotating real ales available. This place is very handy for the station as it’s practically on the other side of the road. There’s a small rear outdoor area too.“
