54 /100 1122 VIDAL STREET Nice location near the beach, with a pleasant interior. They had maybe 10-12 taps with custom flights available. Beer list was boring, with almost nothing of interest, just standard pedestrian styles typical of Greater Van's beer scene. I tried 5 beers and wasn't too happy with any of them except the porter. Friendly service but they are clueless about beer. Not very competent beer and surely not targeting beer geeks at all. |
62 /100 1122 VIDAL STREET Right off the White Rock strip the inside is tiny with a few bar stools but to make up for it they have a fine spacious patio. Service was friendly and active, beers were very average at best, some need work, and many weren't ready for prime time. White Rock is long overdue for a brewery in this area, and I hope they up their beer game as it's a worthwhile stop if you happen to get down here on a warm afternoon. |
68 /100 1515 JOHNSTON RD Now at their new spot on the corner of Johnston and Russell, this is a pretty big and trendy brewpub that was absolutely packed when I visited. Beers are hit and miss, service is adequate. Can be hard to find a place to set your glass during peak times. Food was okay, standard pub fare. This is really the top spot for beer in the area, worth checking out anyway just to try a few. |
62 /100 15181 RUSSELL AVENUE A small tasting bar in central White Rock. Only a few beers on tap, they were all serviceable but not amazing. Seemed to be a popular spot for dog walkers on a saturday afternoon. Prices were reasonable. They only had some snack mix available for food I think. Not bad but not great, they will get some competition once 3 Dogs reopens next door to them. |
66 /100 White Rock Liquor Store (Tag) (Beer Store) 15144 NORTH BLUFF RD A tiny liquor store that has a reasonable selection. Not beer focused, but good hours and carries all the latest and greatest locals. Had 4W seasonal a as well, so not all bad. The best in the immediate area. |
66 /100 15181 RUSSELL AVENUE A small brewery and tasting room. Owners and Brewers pouring so very nice and knowledgable. No flight but free tasters. I am pretty sure they didn’t pour off the first bit as a couple of the beers tasted just awful. If you are in the area, might as well stop, but definitely not worth a trip. |
80 /100 Uli’s (Bar) 15021 MARINE DRIVE Easily the best place for Craft and imports on the White Rock strip. Interesting and varied beer selection with great food menu. Nice patio view. |
68 /100 15181 RUSSELL AVENUE Brewery owned/run by two Surrey teachers, their limited hours are because of that. They are super nice, and it will be great to see how the business develops. The Christmas Ale, if you can get your hands on it, is lovely with orange peel and cocoa, but only by the glass, not available in growler yet. Most importantly, this brewery also has the BEST KITTY CAT EVER. His name is Brewski. |
46 /100 15181 RUSSELL AVENUE Small place where you can fill growlers or have a 12 oz. glass of any of their beers. Extremely limited hours though that aren’t consistent (keep an eye on their FB page for weekly hours) -- usually it’s just twice a week for a very limited hours. Beer quality is average, nothing special. Service was super friendly and the guys were really nice. Worth a stop if you’re in the area and they happen to be open. |
