“Everybody comes for the pizza, which is exceptional, but the beer selection is a pleasant surprise. Every month or two they will change some selections and bring in two or three craft brews from around New England. Jack and Steve manning the taps know their beers and are generous with tasters. Worth the ten minute drive from I-84 to the UConn campus.“

“Up here for my sister’s graduation from UCONN, short drive from the campus, and worth it. Homey feel to this joint, nice wooden beams and cheery locals and solid service. Tons of crazy crap on the walls. Surprising selection of quality brews and most of them are from smaller local breweries in the area: Berkshire, Magic Hat, Sam adams, plus a few brews made specially for the restaurant, I had the Irish red and it was pretty tasty. The pizza is great and there are a bunch of things on the menu, pretty good prices too. If you’re in the area it is TOTALLY worth a stop. Although its not a beer pilgramage per se but a place to go for tasty brews with tasty food. A good time was had by all.“

“I send a week or two every year in CT visiting my in-laws and have been completely underwhelmed by the beer scene. This has been one highlight, however. The main draw for most people is the award winning pizza - really tasty. But they do have a decent selection on tap - a lot of midrange stuff (Guiness, Killians, Newcastle, Sam Adams), but also some good stuff too (Dog Fish Head, Magic Hat, Spaten, Sierra Nevada) and features from New England brewers from CT, Mass, and Vermont. Bottle selection focuses on macros. Great ambience. We always go for lunch and there’s always people there, but never crowded. There is a college nearby, business probably picks up on evenings and weekends. You make any earth shattering new beer discoveries here, but go for the pizza and enjoy something drinkable while your there. And please, if someone else knows about a GREAT beer location in North Central CT - let me know!“
