52 /100 Pat’s Place (Restaurant) 1526 SOUTH LEE STREET This is a hole-in-the-wall pizza place/bar/pool hall that’s been in Americus for a long time. The pizza is so-so (I recommend the chicken alfredo pizza) but occasionally they have decent beers on tap. You can find English beers, micro brews, and occasionally a nice porter. Better get here quick when Pat advertises craft beer. It’s gone fast.

62 /100 Americus Package (Beer Store) 1040 E FORSYTH ST Of all the package/liquor stores in Americus, GA., Americus Package is the best. It’s the only place where you can find craft beer and the prices aren’t too bad. However, the selection is limited and my favorite craft beers tends to sell out fast. I have to give the store props for having a decent hard liquor selection and for carrying local brands. |
42 /100 Floyd’s Pub (Bar) 125 W LAMAR ST If you’re looking for a place to wet your whistle while visiting Andersonville or Plains, GA, then Floyd’s is your best option. The bar is located in a beautiful historic hotel and they have a fabulous patio that’s perfect for people watching. However, this bar lacks quality/craft beer and their hard drinks aren’t much better. On a busy night, you’re lucky if you get a smile from the bartenders. Floyd’s is not a place for beer snobs, but it’s the best option in this small town. |
