Farnham Frensham Beer Guide: Your Farnham Frensham guide to beer, beer bars, breweries and brewpubs

“First the directions: go down a lane, go down a narrower lane, go through what appears to be an abandoned farm, go down an even narrower lane. And you’re there. Could do with better sign posting. Sat nav took me through a ford and into the woods, but not to the brewery. Use Frensham Garden Centre’s post code. Basically this is an old farm building which has been restored and has tables inside and also on a patio area. Had a musty farm smell. A small bar area with their beers straight from the cask (4 of 5 available today). Operated by the husband and wife who own the brewery. Both are very pleasant and thanked me to my support. Difficult to judge the atmosphere as I was the only customer, other than a dog walker who dropped in for takeaway. Being near Frensham Pond and on a public path I guess it’s busier with walkers and cyclists on a weekend. One thing to take into account: to get to the tap you pass through a working dairy farm. By car there is only one way in and out. My departure coincided with milking. The brewery owner told me to drive up slowly and if the cows did not move then to get out and shush them on. Let’s just say there was a lot of cow shit on my pedals and I threw my shoes away. Should probably warn people. Took me 30 minutes to get down the lane. Also health and safety??? Suggest people go there as part of a walk!“
