64 /100 THE GLADE, FELDAY ROAD
“The home of the Felday Brewery, which is located in a large purpose built shed just outside the pub. Holmbury St Mary is a picturesque hamlet up in the Surrey hills. You get there via narrow lanes so expect to get stuck behind lycra clad menaces. We entered via the rear sp the pub appeared to be surpisngly empty, with only a couple of other people in it. However as it was a sunny day there were a number of walkers and cyclists sat out front. Felday Legacy is on permantly along with Surrey Hills Shere Drop. Young Bitter is apparently the other regular but one of the four pumps was not in use. The guest beer was Twickenham Naked Ladies but I understand that they have the occasional season beer from Felday, at least at Christmas. Standard macro lagers and ciders on the main kegs plus a fancy stand-alone Goose Island IPA tap. Food was pretty decent but cold. The barman thinks he's funny, but I suspect his blunt sense of humour may not come across well for all people. Only seemed to be one kid taking food orders, which could explain why I spotted people waiting for some time at the bar, when they couldn't handle a queue of 3 or 4 people! Nice enough pub and will return as it's convenient for meeting people but for Ratebeer presumably really a destination for a Felday tick. The barman told me it was not available elsewhere but that does not seem to be true, other Time Well Spent pubs have had it on.“
