“Right in the centre of Arundel, below the Castle area. This is a smart hotel bar but mostly cut off from the hotel itself. There is seating in the bar, through the stabling area and into the garden. It's very popular and certainly busy on our visit putting strain on the service. The beer range is pretty decent.“

“This is a large, high ceilinged ex engine room on the edge of the castle grounds. The beers are produced by others so no brewing equipment around. It's super cool on a hot afternoon with traditional tiles covering the walls and wooden boarded floors. There is a long bar to the far end, all keg choices. Very quiet on a Friday lunchtime. Might struggle possibly. Update, they are building a brewery next to the bar which they expect to be running by the end of the summer.“

“Large hotel/pub/restaurant about a mile outside Arundel town.Reasonable rooms and food, with the benefit of four handpumps on the bar - three with local beers.“

“Dark Star Hophead in good form. Three other ales available, mainly national brands. Most tables set for diners so we ended up sitting at a perch between two pillars... awful layout/décor.“

“The only pub we found offering beers from Arundel brewery. Sussex Gold was the choice among 3 other national brands.“

“The only Harveys pub we came across. Sussex Best and Armada were on as were bottles of Old Ale. Unfortunately the castle is not visible from the beer garden/terrace.“

“Not a very touristy place this, though not that much cheaper than things in the center. Four casks on tap. Rather rude service. She was more into chatting with the regulars than giving me a nip. Fairly small though apparently there were rooms somewhere to the side that I didn’t notice.“

“Not the most jovial of places. Fairly crowded though plenty of room to sit outside even though a hot day during Arundel festival. Slow service, food took forever. Poor selection, four casks. Food was plain. Fairly expensive as well. Wouldn’t go again, I would think.“

“One of the more central pubs in the small town of Arundel. Its front area has a mix of wooden tables and furniture and a couple of sofas by the fireplace. The bar stocks four ales on pumps. The rear area is more suited to dining and like the majority of the pubs in the historic town offers decent fair at slightly tourist raised prices.“

“One of the most popular choices in town, closest to the train station and the only pub on the south side of the river. This pub like most in the town opts for simple wooden furniture on wooden floors, but very appealing and easy on the aye making good use of the building’s features at the same time. The main drinking action takes place at the front with Harvey’s Ales on offer and the back geared up for dining. There’s an outside area too with an attractive side area to the building.“

“In an old building with the most eclectic mix of rooms and ales in the village. There’s a bar area at the front and two more comfortable best room areas that are decorated without uniformity with a mix of rugs and furniture that creates a cosy feeling. It has a good local contingent that appear for a drink throughout its opening times and several craft ales available, probably the best in the town. When the weather is good its outdoor area or picnic tables in the pedestrian path next to the building make for a perfect place to rest.“
