“Attractive brick pub serving the hilltop conurbation of Scholes. Visited a decade ago but has long since been closed and converted into housing stock. Never much of a beer destination but always sad to see a public house wiped off the map.“

“Sitting on the junction of the busy Halifax A-road and the one that leads into the small town of Scholes, this freehouse does a fine line in cask rotating its selection with mainly local and regional brewers. It has a fine cosy decoration inside although given it’s of a fair size there are areas where little is happening and these feel somewhat sparse, but if you keep close to the bar area you won’t feel away from the friendly atmosphere. There’s six cask ale pumps here and keg options too. It has a large car park to its side.“

“Proper old fashioned pub with a top pint of Golden Pippin, also has Tetleys on draught will try that next time. Nice menu only sampled a few free chunky chips - very nice.“
