“Off licenses with a bit more besides. On top of the wide selection of wines they have a good selection of the usual macros and a good number of local brewery beers. However the big selling point for me is the dozen different Kernel beers and a decent but limited selection of UK craft beers. Those available on my last visit were from Buxton in cans, Runaway, Weird Beard, Thornbridge, Fourpure, Redwillow and a few others. Perfect for me on my way home from work. .................................................................... ...... Update. Really dropped of the edge of a cliff. No new beers in 3 months. Kernel on sale two months past its BBE date. Won’t bother again.“

“Nice pub, great community feel. Brilliant food at great prices-go for a curry! The beer selection is limited but the ales are easily quaffable. Has 2 pool tables, the one closest the bar is slightly better! There is a sit down restaurant next to the main bar, owned by the curry house, but you get the same food in there as you do in the bar. Football or sports are often on.“

“Very modern JDW, in a reasonably modern/90s building. Large Bar area, but the place is more geared towards diners than drinkers. Bar service is poor has taken me ages to get served every time I’ve been. expect a 5-10 minute wait most times as it’s heavily understaffed. A good range of ales on, atleast 10 different ales any one time with plenty of bottles too. Food is the same as anywhere, the value is great. Just it doesn’t feel like a great bar. Cheaply fitted, feels like an airport bar, no character.“

“In a new build complex just away from the shops on the main road into Sutton, this Wetherspoon pub is extremely modern in decor and opts for a metal bar instead of marble. There’s plenty of fine art to enjoy and the decor compliments this but the drinks and food are the same of course. There’s two rows of ale pumps as per usual in most of these chains. One difference is that you won’t see a toilet sign as they are called ’Restrooms’ here. It is more geared towards diners with isolated tables than the more social open plan pub and attracts plenty of families and older women having a natter over lunch. Small patio out front.“
