58 /100 AEZ (Grocery Store) KURT-HUBER-RING 12 Very nice supermarket with a good craft beer selection for German supermarket standards. Lagers from local microbreweries and German and foreign craft beers are available e.g. Bellhaven, BrewDog, Boulevard Brewing, etc). |
58 /100 AUGSBURGER STRASSE 41 Cosy restaurant with very large biergarten just next to big brewery. 4 taps with fresh and well treated beers, I like Kellerbier, smooth and soft. Service OK. |

Quite nice pub with large biergarten. Four taps, especially kellerbier was very good. Usual Bavarian prices. Fine service. |
66 /100 AUGSBURGER STRASSE 41 Visited on a Saturday evening in late July ’11.
Located a good 10-15 minutes walk from the Hbf, which is in turn around 30 minutes or so from Munchen Hbf on the S bahn.
We spent a few hours in the busy beergarden taking in the late evening sun through the foliage.
The place was busy but there were stilk a few large circular tables going spare away from the two serving hatches, 1 for beer (3 taps) and 1 for food.
I used both, decent beers and a plentiful ’haxe.
Service was pompt and friendly, they seemed quite surprised that a bunch of brits had stopped by.
Overall a solid venue. Not a go to destination as you’ll spend a good 90 minutes getting here and back to central Munich. We took Kaltenberg in having come in from the Memmingen direction and dropping onto the S bahn at Freilassing. |
