“A wonderful little shop in Aartselaar. Expect very rare beers, paired with equally rare cheeses. the people running the shop are extremely knowlegdeable, so this really is a must do“

“Well, what a discovery! This is not a common cheese store, nor a bistro. The primary focus is probably the cheese-store. But Philippe/Filip (not sure about the spelling) is clearly passioned about beers and cheese. There’s place for about 15 - 20 persons to sit or stand while tasting. The place has a modern interior. The selection of beer is not the largest at first sight, but he has a hidden collection somewhere, so don’t be afraid to ask suggestions. But in the end you come for the cheese. And that selection is really nice! You can choose some cheese in particular, or let the owners decide. The price is really fair. For the beers it’s maybe a bit expensive but that’s the price for the charm of this place. I’d surely recommend this place. The location is not the best, but easy reachable since it’s not far from the road that connects Antwerp and Brussels.“

“If beer-cheese pairing is a hot trend then surely there ought to be pilgrimages aimed here. About 90 bottled beers and several local and European cheeses. The owners know how to treat both, they know several winning combinations, but they also see it as a topic of ongoing experimentation and study. You can lunch here, but there’s not a lot of room. So bring one friend and stay a while.“

“One could call it ’bistro’, but basically it is a cheese store with a few tables that specialises in great and hard to get cheeses, combined with good beer. Philippe, the owner, really knows his business and comes up with great suggestions.
The ambiance is rather store-like and it isn’t very cheap either, but this is more than compensated by the passion of the patron.
I’ve had a great Sunday afternoon here, enjoying the beer and cheeses. Some of the combinations were brilliant: Framboise with ripened goat cheese and aged orval with fenugreek cheese were the highlights of my day.

There aren´t too many places that specialise in pairing beer and cheese, and within the ones I know, this is amongst the best. I’d recomment it to everyone.“
