“Quite small bar with a cosy atmosphere and a HUGE selection of exclusively Belgian beers. The owners were really helpful and a pleasure to chat with ☺️. Lot's of exciting stuff to try and I will definitely be back in the future 😋. The beer list includes old vintages of Orval, every vintage of the Horal megablend, all Trappist beers, and lambic from almost every producer (they have a huge selection of the Boon Monoblends). I'm a bit confused this is the second review as the bar has existed for over 11 years and literally has the best selection of any Belgian bar I have visited so far 🤨?“

“13 taps, +/- 75 bottles, located on the main square. Irish pub with some brown bar features. Friendly service, okay prices. Tap selection is mainly big brands, going from uninteresting Jupiler, Guinness, macro cider to okayish like Jack’s IPA, Bolleke and decent like Gouden Carolus. Beer selection is similar, mostly big brands, some uninteresting beers but a few nice ones like Pils 13, Verzet beers, basic lambiek selection, one or two I haven’t heard of before, nothing impressive but you can find a handful of nice beers. They seem to organize a fair amount of events.“

“Are you looking for some original local beers that you won't find in any local store? Are you looking voor some special Belgian Beers or import from other countries? What do you think about an Ouwen Duiker (Old Diver), a Tongsneyder (Tungcutter), a Baskwadder (an old mythical creature believed to have roamed the forests in the northern part of Belgium)? Those and other beers that you'll not find in any other place in Halle can be enjoyed at this original 'brown pub' as it's called in Belgium. Blue Note Beer Pub is always looking for something special, tastfull beers that can't be found in the regular shops. With 13 beers on tap and more then 80 beers on bottle (from which several beers are limited editions) you won't be bored when you come to this place. Maybe choose a night when there's a music band coming along! Blue Note Pub is all about music, tastefull beers, friendship and enjoying life.“

“Never visited this place physically, but since they do online orders, I'll probably never have the need to. My rating is therefore to be considered incomplete, as I can only judge their online shop qualities and as far as that aspect is concerned, they do a pretty good job: selection holds most of the classic lambics (only because the style is indigenous to their region - after all, this store deals in 'streekproducten', i.e. local products) but also a number of very local Pajottenland and Brussels ales, some of which I never heard of before. As said, I am unable to judge either their other products (the food items etc.) or the actual shop, but as an online store, I have no complaints whatsoever: very reactive, helpful and friendly, with the goods delivered quickly in prime condition. If I ever pass through Halle again, I will surely remember to visit the actual shop there!“

“Small shop specialising in Payottenland drink, wine, beer, cheeses, spirits and other things. And well worth visiting for the Lambic selection which included Boon VAT series, Lindemans Ginger Gueuze, Girardin Black Label (which has so far been out of stock in every beershop I've been to in Ghent and Brussels) as well as all the regular lambics. Also bought some smoked ham, kriek washed cheese and kriek jam.“

“Small shop. Went there because of the Weekend van de Lambiek, organised by the Lambiekstoempers. Prices are OK, selection is decent.“

“A nice place to pick up lambics from around the area. Great selection although there wasn’t anything really hard to find or limited. Maybe the HORAL Mega Blend counts? I don’t know. It’s nice to have all the good lambic in one place. The selection of local foods was nice too.“

“Beer-wise they have the common lambic’s at what are pretty good prices. Ok place to stock up on your basic lambic stash. Other some of the common De La Senne beers & couple of other somewhat interesting beers. Local products, jam, whole lot of organic juice, cheese, etc. Not a bad place.“

“Little shop with a nice range of beers, especially lambic and geuze. Very difficult to find parking place. Finded BVS beer shop better (larger range, better parking).“

“Small shop in Halle with the always difficult task of finding a parking spot. Shop carries mostly local beers from the Pajottenland, mostly Flemish depsite the proximity to Wallonia. They carry many gueuzes ranging from Boon, Cantillon, 3F, Timmermans, Hansens, etc. Nice and clean with a friendly shopkeeper. Beers are more than reasonably priced. They also have a wide range of local produces and other small liquors that are worth checking out if you want to sample more of the local food cutlure.“

“This is certain the best place for buying the local stuff. And the local stuff are the Lambics, Geuzes and Kriek. All the breweries are found here: Boon, Cantillion, 3 Fonteinen, Oud Beersel etc.“

“Visited 26/4/08. 75-100 beers on sale with, as mentioned below, a serious focus on lambics. Had plenty of good examples from Drie Fonteinen, Oud Beersel, de Cam and Boon amongst others, without stretching as far as the most rare bottles - 3F Doesjel was as interesting as it got. Also had a fair range of other Belgian ales including most of the de Zenne range. Worth a visit if you are in the area.“

“Nice shop if you like lambic. They have most of all the regular stuff and some specials. I bought 3 Fonteinen Hommage and Doesel. But didn’t see any Selection.“

“Little store with a limited and unusual selection. There are a few common lambics and some classic Belgians but there are also some obscure Belgian micros that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I tried a few of them and unfortunately none of them were any good. So I guess the only reason to visit the shop is to buy a bottle of Belle-Vue Selection Lambic 1999. There were still plenty of them when I was there sept 2006. As far as I know it’s the only place to find it. Little tourist note: Halle is a really cute little city to visit. You can rent a bike in Brussel and get to Halle in less than 1.5 hour. Not only is Halle really cool but the bike ride along the river/canal is also very pleasant. I even did a little detour on my way there and stopped by 3 Fonteinen in Beersel. Very nice way to visit Belgium countryside and please the beer geek in you. Recommended.“

“A nice little shop, worth a stop if you’re in the area, if only for the Belle-Vue Séléction 1999. They also carry most of the basic offerings from Drie Fonteinen, Girardin, Boon, Lindemans (Cuvée René) and Hanssens as well as a few random non lambic-based beers. The store is not dedicated to beer, rather they sell traditional foods and drinks made locally. The prices are quite cheap and the staff friendly though they seemed busy when I visited.“

“Fine selection of lambics ! Some nice rarities (Mort Subite Oude Gueuze, Belle Vue Selection Lambic (!)) available; it’s a must and worth a journey for every fan of fine lambics and gueuzes.“

“The ambiance here isn’t all that great considering it’s just a small shop off of a main strip in Halle. Seems like a nice little town with tonnes of people milling about (students and others) though I guess that’s because I went through right at around 16h30. Beer selection was very good - lots of lambics that I haven’t seen elsewhere and the prices were the best I have seen anywhere. Belle-vue Selection Lambic (750mL) for only 9.50E from 1999! Also plenty of Girardin and Drie Fonteinen for under 2.50E and sometimes even under 2E. Other Belgian micros are represented as well but the catalogue is by no means extensive. They also had some other products like wines and some food. I’d recommend this place anytime.“

“A lovely place to go, but choice is limited to a good choice of artisanal gueze, lambic and kriek. Very cheap place. As this place is in Halle itself, you have to drive into the city center. Check their website to see what they currently have, as offer seems to be changing from month to month. Always worthwhile to go if you are Lambic-Gueuze fan.“

“I loved this place. No Selection Lambic or Schaarbeekse Kriek whilst I was there unfortunately, but the regular lambics are as cheap as you will ever find them. The people are very nice and friendly and they have a lot of other interesting produce too. Great mattetarten too! They don’t accept VISA (from foreigners at least).“

“Worth a visit for its good selection of lambic beers. Belle Vue selection available! Cheap. Ideal if you don’t have much time and still want to bring home as many lambic beers as possible.“
