Eagle River Liquor (Beer Store)
1501 10TH AVENUE
“Good place to find stuff you cant for miles and miles in the area. Latley it has had a good new surprises often, having some better known good beer like Firewalker or Port brewing. Has a lot of Stone,Two brothers, clown shoes, founders, and quite a few good ones for the small size it is.Pretty good rotation as well as some nice aged belgians/barleywines and english beers.Currently seems to have a higher turnover as well as new releases or seasonals. ONe knowlagable staff/homebrewer but otherwise a Light beer drive though place. You dont know what they have unless you go inside though. For the size it has a good selection of good random breweries, some good local stuff as well. Great selection for its size, lots of bombers, tons of imperials if your into those as well.“

“Interesting place. Used to be a small auto dealership so has a drive-though lane running through the center of the building. One half of the building is the store and the other storage. Anyway it looks like a pretty typical small town liquor store until you hit the import and craft aisle. There are several Belgians, a few Germans, and a decent selection of Midwest craft beers with Founders, Bell’s, Goose Island, Left Hand, etc. Also a shelf of high end bombers like Lost Abbey as well as a few FFF. Prices middle of the road, they aren’t giving the stuff away. One member of the staff extremely knowledgeable, the rest are friendly and helpful but not into craft beers. Worth a stop.“

“At first this place seems like a typical liquor store with a drive through. Walk in at first and there is the typical soft drink, macro, and liquor fare. On the far side of the store is the micro-brewed stuff. The selection is better than it seems because almost every bottle or pack only takes up one slot on the shelves. This is the best place that I know of in my area of Clinton, Iowa, save John’s Grocery (a 100 mile drive 1 way) to find harder to find American and European micro, and I guess macro stuff as well. A good smattering of Belgians and occasional rare/aged brews (their selection here seems to be getting better) can keep me and my wallet busy, though prices seem about on par or a little better than any normal liquor store. Service is good, they don’t jump on you the second you pop in, but are friendly and seem ready to help you find something if you need it. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this place, though it could use a better selction and a mix and match 6 pack section, great place to check out if you are in the area and like good beer. Their wine, and liquor selection seems decent.“
