“We visited on Friday 23rd May 2013, we arrived quite late, just after 9pm, but they were still serving food. Big thanks to the excellent and never be without Tim Webb publication ’Good Beer Guide to Belgium’ a great help when trying to find a spot later on the evening to stop for something to eat. Beer choice was pretty decent with most of the Trappists and and reasonably decent offering of others, though the tap choice was not so interesting as I recall. The tavern can be found close to the attractive Sint-Audomaruskerk (church) in the centre of the village, we managed to park close to the church entrance and stop there for the evening in the camper. The food was pretty damn good, we had salmon and white asparagus and we drank Orval in memory of the late, great Mr Simon Johnson. Surprisingly the place was very quite and aside from an elderly couple we were the only others in here though the bar across the street looked pretty busy. The bar is straight in front of you when you enter and I noted that this place seemed to be laid out for diners only, however I am sure that they would happily let you just have a beer if you didn’t wish to eat. The service was good, and overall another great find which takes some of the pressure off of Hilda and her excellent De Vlaasschard which is our regular stop usually.“
