“We loved this place. It's a small brewery with about 10 of their beers on offer, no guest beers. All the basic styles are represented, and represented well. We liked or love all that we tasted. Warning: there is a two pint and a taster limit on on-premises consumption so pick carefully. Some beers are canned, and growlers (not crowlers) are available for takeaway. There are a few tables indoors, but everyone sat outside due to the Covid. There is a firepit for colder days. Food is available at times from trucks. We were there for Between the Buns, and their outstanding hot dogs. We hope to get back there someday.“

“Hey!!!!! BBQ!!!! Southern style BBQ in sports bar that has live music. BBQ was good, expectations were low and they exceded what I thought it would be. Service was good at the bar. 18 taps, mostly AK stuff. Had an old Elysian IPA on tap. Oh well. The MS beers were fresh however. Server was really nice and gave me a 20th anniversary MS glass. Thank you very much. Solid food and a good range of beers on tap is always a winner“

“Industrial vide in an industrial part of Fairbanks. Excellent outdoor seating. Food truck next to brewery. Decent range of beers on tap and Tusk was available in bottles. NEIPA was awful, IPA was so so. Had enough after those. Real nice set up and vibe however.“

“Nice modern warehouse vibe with a pleasant outdoor area. There hours are limited, it was hard to get here during their hours with our travel schedule. Service was fine. They were out of two of their seven taps. Prices seemed on the high side of average. I thought their beer was much better than silver gulch, but they lost points with the hours and being out of stuff.“

“It was crowded the Saturday night I was there, but the line at the counter went fast. They had five of their beers on tap and one in a 24 oz bottle. It was a barrel aged version of their Tusk barley wine for $28. I bought one anyway. Food truck, swag, hipsters. I liked it and if I go back through Fairbanks, I’ll go again. I came away with a good impression of their beer.“

“Nice little brewery I a light industrial area near the center of town. Quite busy on a Fruday afternoon. Six of their own beers on draft, no food served (but there was a food truck) and plenty of outdoor seating. Decent beers and a friendly vibe.“

“I visited 13 breweries or craftbeer bars while in Alaska recently...and Hoodoo (for me at least) was by far one of the best...second only to Midnight Sun. I totally loved the vibe here especially outside on a warm Friday evening in early September with the sun low in the sky. Their beers may not be numerous...but "all" are great...which is saying something. I especially loved the IPA and the Saison...but the Belgium Strong and the Kolsch were great too. There was a very good food truck...and a great group of people to hang out with. We talked to a lot of locals and everyone was very approachable and fun to drink with. This is one of the few places in Alaska where I spent more time talking to the clientele then the staff (which is usually the opposite of what I do given the beer nerd I am). Hoodoo was just a really fun place to hang out...and probably the best place to drink craft beer in the northern most area of the commonly drivable parts of the state. To miss Hoodoo would be to miss a significant part of Alaskan craftbeer culture.“

“Given the lack of good beer bars in downtown Fairbanks, this BBQ place-cum-sports-bar was the best I could find. Hence this review. It did sport an impressive 18 taps, with 12 qualifying as craft beer, when I was there. Eight of these were from the state (three from Alaskan Brewing, two from Silver Gulch, two from Glacier Brewing and one from Denali Brewing). The food ranged from pretty horrible (a dry chicken I had the first night) to decent (the Cowboy Sundae). The atmosphere is typical for sports bars, with locals hanging out in the bar to watch the many TV screens on the walls, but there are also many tables along the walls where parents bring kids along for dinner. So, if you’re in downtown Fairbanks this is probably your best bet for some good craft beer. Visited: 2014-08-01 and 2014-08-02.“

“HooDoo is located a couple of miles outside downtown Fairbanks in the Railway district towards the airport, so you need a car to get there or about 30-35 minutes of brisk walk. Once you get there you’ll find the taproom pretty full of locals who actually consumes most of the beer as HooDoo distributes very little. From the taproom you have a good view of the brewery and along one wall you can view and purchase the various HooDoo merchandise. When I visited they had 4 different beers on tap, all decent beers, and though I found nowhere to sit I enjoyed standing outside in their beer garden, where you could buy food from a street vendor. All in all this is the best place in Fairbanks when it comes to fresh draught beer. Visited: 2014-08-02.“

“Stopped by here before I left town. Its in an industrial area, which could confuse some folks as they question GPS. Very decent prices on growlers with decent varieties. Staff was helpful in every way and allowed me to get a few samples to decide what to buy. Well worth the time if your in the area.“

“Located in a strip mall next to Joann Fabrics. Very nice liquor store with a decent beer selection, mostly 6 packs but a few cooler doors of bombers and import bottles. They just installed a growler bar which is really cool. They have about 24 different beers on tap, great selection of Alaska beers, US micro and a few imports. They fill 32oz and 64oz growlers. Price are pretty good all around. Good service. Best place in Fairbanks for beer, especially now with the growler bar.“

“Gavoras is the best place to stop for beer in Fairbanks that I’ve found so far. They have a great selection of West Coast, Alaska, and some European beers you wouldn’t expect to find in AK. The staff is friendly, open to suggestions, and keeps the store very clean and organized. I really can’t think of anything negative to say about this place.“

“This is an excellent oasis by many liquor store’s standards. In addition to a large selection on Midnight Sun beers, they have plenty of Belgians and English ales to choose from. There seems to be a nice wine selection, but I really would not know. The owner really is passionate about beer, and the cooler speaks to that.“

“I won’t say that Fairbanks is a beer wasteland, but there really aren’t that many places selling anything much more than the everyday BMC and Alaskan Brewing products. This place has a nice selection of Alaskan beers, Midnight Sun, Silver Gulch and some nice US Micro-brews (Avery, Elesian etc). They have a small but nice selection of Belgian. Rodenbach & Rochefort. The sales person when I was there seemed very interested in adding to their inventory. Asked what kind of beer I would want to see there etc. Worth a stop if in the area.“
