“Was there twice. Nice joint. Kind of a rustic dive bar. Easy to find off the highway and near Denali National Park. First night service was terrible, second service was excellent. I suppose what happens when you hire staff from the lower 48 for peak season. Good range of food, and spirits. Beers were solid. Had crowlers available. Since it was a restaurant/ bar it was not apart of the silly 36 oz thing that breweries get. Would go back to easily“

“Stopped in our way from Fairbanks to Denali. Great place! Sat around a gas fireplace and had a great lunch and some finely crafted beers. Worth going out of your way for this atmospheric place.“

“How can you not love this place as a visitor? I’m guessing it "might" grow old on a local...but I mean it’s not like there are a ton of choices in Alaska...especially outside of Anchorage. 49th has a lot of character...feels like what an Alaska brewery outside of Anchorage should feel like...country (as in backwoods) without the corporate. And then there’s the bus...a bit morbid some might say...but somehow it seems to work in Alaska. There are many "spaces" at this place...inside and out...with tons of things to keep your eyes busy. Love the inside fire pi by the way!! The food is good for out in the country...and the staff is pretty accommodating. The beers are numerous and noteworthy. There is something here for everyone and then some. You really need to stop here on any drive to Denali or Fairbanks.“

“Stayed in an apartment above the brewery for the last three nights. Alas, it isn’t the mecca that Josh and Sunshine made it out to be, but perhaps things have changed in a year, or perhaps I’m just too picky. The beer was solid but nothing special, mid-3s quality across the board (there are 12 to choose from, and I found 3 more up at Prospector’s...those latter 3 were the worst of the lot, maybe they give that restaurant things they aren’t particularly proud of?), and the staff was amusingly poor in some cases (the hostess especially)...but hey, this is middle of nowhere Alaska, so some leeway must be given for not quite knowing how to handle customers/guests properly. The firepit seating has some attraction but it’s a gas fire and the rest of the indoor seating is pretty standard brewpub ambiance. The tent just outside reeked of wort and less enticing odors, which was not much fun to walk through when coming and going (was shocked to see people out there eating one day, it was so bad I held my breath while walking through there, but admittedly I have an overly sensitive schnozz). So...um...yeah...a decent enough place but at least based on this 3-day sampling, it’s not really worth going out of your way for. If you’re going to Denali park, then obviously this place is a given.“

“Are you freakin kidding me? I want to adopt this place. My new favorite beer destination in the USA! Their German beers kick ass. Bamberger-style rauchbier, and even the hefeweizen kicks ass?! But wait, they also know how to make a proper dry saison that doesn’t taste like soapy tea? My disbelief soon turned to deep respect, as we went back again and again just to make sure we weren’t dreaming...and it was true. They really know how to brew on an elite level. It must be the water and the cold weather as well as mad skills. All the servers and hosts who work here are from around the world, are cheerful, and located in a premier outdoorsy destination. The ambiance is kick ass, the old bus outside was used in a movie, it’s like a huge hippie camp in the woods. They even have tempeh on the menu (but sadly they were all out when I was there, as it was end of season). The only things wrong with this place are that it’s only open for a few months of the year and that it isn’t in my backyard.“

“Oh, now this place kicks ass. First of all, as a beer lover I love their work. They nailed a lot of styles, types of beer that quite frankly are almost never made well in America (vienna, smoked marzen, Berliner weisse, etc). They have a massive list of beer, too, so you can pretty much come here every night all summer and never get bored. Food is good. Staff are all from somewhere else but they are well-trained and enthusiastic, a sign of good management. Things like disc golf and cornhole in the front yard, and everyone is having a great time. It’s a rare pleasure to experience a brewpub this awesome.“

“Finally made it here after being on my list to do for the past two summers. It did not fail to impress. Rather large facility in a wooded setting, there is an RV & Camping right next door, large outdoor are with stage. Inside reminds me of some of the old German restaurants I visited in Europe with a huge center of the room fire place, large bar, and plenty of seating. They have a gift shop and you can see their equipment on the way to the restrooms. I tried the 5 beer sampler and bought a bottled beer along with growler to go. Price is the same as most places in Alaska. Service was very prompt, knowledgeable for only her 4th day (which surprised me), and kept us happy. The beer was rather good with tons of choices and the food was not only larger portions than I am use to but tasted very good. I hope to get back here a few more times, if I can manage the 5 to 6 hr drive.“

“The place to be in Healy! Awesome craftbeers, good food and they have a fun "beergarden" where you can drink, eat, stand next to a fire or even play disc golf.“

“Great food! Our party had massive steaks, burgers the side of your head, snow crab, and a pulled pork sandwhich that was a show stopper. they smoke local pork every week. holy macanoli! When it came to beer we couldn’t be happier. several of us had flights. some got hooked into one or the other. you gotta try it!“

“Unique place. This was an absolute dream come true for someone who spent the previous week camping in Denali. As a first stop after 7 days of hot dogs and freeze drieds, great beer and huge food was simply heaven. Bacon wrapped buffalo meatloaf with smashed potatoes and onion straws was fantastic. My wife has bacon and carmelized onion mac and cheese that was equally delicious. Portions were huge, which defintely made it feel like value was there. In in area where a loaf of bead cost $6, a bag of potato chips $8, and a gallon of gas $4.68, $18 for my meatloaf and $14 for the mac and cheese seemed like a bargain. The beers were all execellent as well, which came as an even bigger surprise. I had the smoked, black IPA, IPA, pale, and dunkel, with the smoked being one of the better smokeds I’ve ever had. They also had Firestone Walker Union Jack as a guest tap too! Absolutely loved this place!!“

“This is a very interesting place. A big warehouse set in the woods next to a campground/rv park. Big outdoor area with tables and tents. Inside there is a big bar, hightop bar tables, fireplace and regular seating. Service is decent but not very keen on the beers. Good selection of house brewed beers as well as other great craft beers from around the US, most beers are available in pitchers. You can get 32oz and 64oz growler fills on most of the house beers to go. Food is hit and miss, stick to the regular brewpub style food, portions are huge. Value on beer is good, not so good on the food. They just got up and running on a bigger system so they have 5-6 beers available and hopefully more in the future. I will definitely stop by again for the beer.“
