“Nice re-use of a corner shop in an old mill. The rest of the mill contains lots of tiny artists shops, most of which were closed when I visited on a Sunday. Very limited hours, except for Sunday. Brewer/owner was serving the beers and said that Sunday (a.k.a. Sunday Funday) was mostly for locals, and a local caterer or chef sets up shop as well, whereas it's mainly food trucks on other days. The day I stopped by it was a Southern cooking chef, very tasty stuff in huge portions. Half a dozen beers on offer in a variety of styles including one smoke beer. Everything I had was tasty, and no adjuncts or lactose. No flights or small pours, brewer said small pours makes it hard to appreciate the beers, but then offered 2 ounce pours of anything. And all beers are served in small versions of shaker pint glasses, a glass style that shows off a beer's characteristics the least. Anyway, a solid stop.“

TreMonte Pizzeria (Restaurant)

“This is a chain pizza place; I enjoyed their Tynesborough location so I figured I'd check this one out after visiting the Mill museum. Lots of taps, but very much dominated by macros, mostly InBev. No flights, just 16 ounce shakers, no half pours, no smaller pours for hi abv beers. Even the pizza was mediocre. Easily skipped.“

“Out of the way, on the south side of town, but worth seeking out. You almost need a high clearance vehicle because of the poor roads around the brewery. It's in a non-descript warehouse like all old skool breweries used to be, and it doesn't look like a brewery from the outside, except for a small sign. You enter through a second door to reveal a large warehouse space, small bar and some old living room furniture on the left, copper-jacketed brewhouse to the right. Barman was friendly enough. Beers were all tasty, with my favorite being an amber ale that had a nicely balance hoppiness to it. 12 taps total though three were blank.Flights of four for $13. No food, but nearby places deliver. Well worth a stop.“

“I stopped in here a few weeks back on an early Saturday afternoon after a beer run to Mass. In the middle of downtown Lowell in a building that could have been a small hotel in a previous life. No off street parking but the shopping center down the street seem to work. Rectangular bar on the right wall as you walk in with more seating off to the left and around a corner wall. I had the bar to myself an except for the small party around the corner the bartenders undivided attention. the tap list is maybe 12 deep with some bottles. There was nothing earth shattering on tap, some macros as well, but certainly something new for me to try. The menu had some pub grub and I had heard great things about the grilled cheese so thats the direction I went and was not disappointed. Service was good but how could it not be. Pricing seemed reasonable for the quality. I would go back if in the area, but wouldn’t make a special trip.“

“My buddy brought me here on a slow Sunday afternoon. So now idea how they operate when the place is full. But today the service was fine. It happens to be the only place in Lowell that has a solid craft menu. Great draft and bottle beer selection here. You can also get 10 oz. mugs which are slightly cheaper. Draft list was focused around Massachusetts. Mayflower, Enlightenment Ales, Rapscallion and Jacks Abbey. But they also had Allagash, Bear Republic and Goose Island. The food menu is limited to Pizzas, Burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. My burger was above average and my buddy enjoyed his as well. They have an outside seating area for when the weather is warm. Over after my tasty burger and the draft list, I would for sure go back. The only respectable place for craft beer anywhere in the city of Lowell. “

L&S Liquor Store (Beer Store)

“When I moved to Lowell I was jones’n for a place to buy some good beer near my house. I live in downtown Lowell and a "quality" store is hard to find. I’ve been traveling around to a couple of different places and yet to find a decent selection, except (Olive that & More) which is really good and the best in Lowell. This place was no different, the regulars crew was in "full effect"(BMC). The place is small, and meant to be a place to buy a quick sixer I suppose. It is clean and well lighted, and they had some Guiness, and some Sam Adams ad the regular malternatives. It is funny that I thought there would be more places to buy quality beer within earshot since Lowell is a pretty big city and has a great brewery in Concord right downtown. “
