72 /100 Art of the Table (Beer Store) 606 WEALTHY STREET SOUTHEAST Small place with lots of things stuffed into it, glassware, jams, cheese, meat, etc. Smaller selection of beer and wine, but what they have is good, both quality local and great beer from the rest of the world. Nice staff. |
62 /100 John Russo’s Wine Warehouse & Deli (Beer Store) 4301 KALAMAZOO SE New store, with smallish beer department. Narrow aisles. Somewhat limited selection, but good choice of craft beers, and lots of warm singles. Partner Greg Russo is very knowledgeable and helpful. Other staff members didnt know beer quite as well. Very reasonable prices. 10% off BYO 6-packs.
Their email list has constantly changing deals, which are among the best in the area. Gift cards are especially good value. Special orders encouraged.
Have tried the huge Torpedo and Sicilian sandwiches. They were delicious, and reasonably priced at $5.99 each.
5/19/14: Closed. and moved to another town.

68 /100 John Russo’s Wine Warehouse & Deli (Beer Store) 4301 KALAMAZOO SE Italian specialty market with wine and some beer. there are much better places to buy beer in GR. |
72 /100 John Russo’s Wine Warehouse & Deli (Beer Store) 4301 KALAMAZOO SE I love the smell of Italian stores, all the fresh herbs and spices, so shopping here was rather pleasant. The selection isn’t out of this world, but adequate. A single selection produced a mixer sixer of beers I hadn’t tried or found yet, and much of what they have is available singly. |
64 /100 Corez (Restaurant) 919 CHERRY STREET SOUTHEAST This is a wine bar. They have an excellent and creative bartender. Wines and cocktails are excellent here; beers are well-selected, but an afterthought. The food is often very creative, and always amazing. If you want great beer selection, and food to match it, go to Hopcat. This place offers decent beer, but it isn’t its focus. Go here for the food or cocktails/wine. |
