“Kinda between Kognisjon and Blackrocks, so we stopped in. Mainly a kombucha forward place, but, they do serve a few beers and meads that they do make in house. Casual inside. Prices fine. Four small pours for $17. Cashier (seemed more like a cashier than a bartender) was friendly. Beers were solid. Mead not so much. Overall worth stopping by since its so close to the other breweries. Nice, cheap pizza place directly across the street.“

“Smallish place, but a large outdoor area. Live music pretty early on a Friday afternoon was nice. Service was solid. Prices decent. My friend Adam D. reports they visited a while ago and there were ten beers on tap. Only four today. Crowded out by seltzers, wines, beer mixes, and other stuff. Clearly chasing trends. Tried a flight of their four beers. The witbeer was nice. The other three (golden ale, saison, Irish stout) were just okay. Worth stopping by on a deep dive of Marquette, but the other breweries in town are better.“

“My last beer stop yesterday. Apparently this has only been open a couple weeks. They do brew here. Big place. Busy when I was there. Decent service. Lots of taps. Lots of styles. I tried 8 and all were good. Didn't see any sign of food but I wasn't looking. Seems to be the west end of a nice little beer walk. From east to west Ore Dock to Blackrocks was a 10 minute walk and then Blackrocks to Kognisjon was an 8 minute walk. And Vierling is a little over a block from Ore Dock. Recommended.“

“I love this place. RIGHT on the road and their sign is small so I missed it. Parking right off the street but it's not a busy road so that was no problem. The only knock on this place is they don't do flights, but they are happy to give lots of small tastes. Overall, I loved it here. This will be a high place rating. The place itself is awesome. A supper club that opened in 1933 and closed several years before b&b took over. Small bar area, huge room lined with barrels that could easily be an event space, a mezzanine with some seating, and a large outdoor beer patio that seemed to be dog friendly. They described other areas in the works including a beer garden behind the place. Customer service was awesome. Friendly, helpful, and, they even gave me a sample of some of the food which was being presented to educate a new employee. That was a soy ginger root vegetable salad which was nice. The whole menu looked good but I didn't try anything else. Beer quality good across the board. You won't love this place if you don't like sour or wild beers, but they did have their first lager on tap as well as two ciders and a mead. Prices solid. 2 13 ounce pours, 4 small tastes, 8 singles, and my total including tax and tip was $54. HIGHLY recommended stop. My new favorite UP brewery (though Cognition is a close 2nd) and quite possibly my favorite in all of Michigan.“

“This is my 3rd visit to a Tadych's location, and, it blew the others away. Nice little grocery store. Large beer selection, and I easily filled 3 BYO sixers and could have kept going. Selection of BYO was full and a 6 pack runs $9.99. Small but good selection of large format bottles. Staff friendly. Must stop if in Marquette and you want ticks.“

“Located in a small house. Cool vibe. Tiny brew kit behind the bar, and they have a production brewery elsewhere. Staff were laid back and friendly. Good service. Nice vibe... large patio, sunlight streaming into the place. 8 beers on tap, a variety of styles, lots of playing with adjuncts, very well executed. 2x 4x4oz. flights ran $14. Easy parking and it was fairly busy. Best brewery in Marquette proper.“

“Big place over the harbor. Feels small inside with different rooms. Busy when I went around dinnertime Saturday. Nice view of Lake Superior out the windows. Did not eat here. Ten beers on tap.In general, mediocre, and a couple with minor flaws. Flights for a buck per sample. Customer service was friendly but passive. They clearly fell into a rut 10+ years ago and are happy to remain there.“

“Looks like it used to be a mechanic shop. Narrow and long with a garage door leading to an outside patio. Darkly lit inside but a bright vibe. Brewery visible in the back. Free popcorn, food truck outside. Moderately busy on a Saturday evening. 9 beers on tap + a cask. Beers of mixed quality. No apparent off flavors but often thin and recipes need more work. Saison and IPA were solid. Got 2 flights of 5 x 4 oz. for 12 bucks. Nirvana is playing right now, so cool. Decent stop if you’re in Marquette.“

“Good store in the downtown area. About 80% of the beer that is here is Michigan which is a good thing. Reasonable prices and service. Would definitely go back if I lived in the area.“

“For a grocery store, this place is pretty good for beer selection. Easy to do a mix and match 6 pack for a pretty good price and still be able to find some new beer ticks. I recommend when you’re in Marquette to go here.“

“Beautiful large taproom with outdoor seating, frequent food trucks, a popcorn machine and regular live music and other various events. Usually have a decent selection of beers on but seem to be very hit or miss. For the most part, their seaonals are fairly safe choices. Thebrewery likes to make a variety of styles but seem to lean towards Belgian style beers.“

“Very interesting taproom where it feels like you are drinking at someone’s house party. Very fun and home-like atmosphere. Outdoor seating and regular music at the taproom. Food trucks are there often as well plus there are many near by restaurants. The beers on tap are their flagships seasonals and usually a couple one offs. There beer here seems to be getting better and better and holds its own against anything being made in the Midwest.“

“Reviewed from notes. Been here several times when I lived in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Been on both floors, nice and quaint, always had good service. Free popcorn. The selection is their beers. Value is consistent with the downtown Marquette economy, good and if I still lived close by in this part of Michigan I would be visiting more often.“

“For a grocery store they had an amazing selection of single bottles, 6-packs and bombers. Mix and match 6-pack $9.49 and the selection is really good. Much better than in your typical Meijer store. Local, Michigan and rest of the US. Much better selection than in White’s Party Store in downtown.“

“Pretty decent selection for a liquor store in Marquette. The selection of singles was a bit limited. However I found a 6-pack full of new ticks. Single bottles are in cold.“

“Nice space downtown with two floors. Only saw the downstairs. Was there on a Sunday afternoon and they were kind out of a lot of their beers so selection was limited to some of my least favor styles. Had a nice mango sour. Guy serving said they were still trying to keep up with demand with bottling and keg accounts. Haha said he tells people if they’re out of the IPA its on all over town, a good problem to have. Did have the IPA elsewhere and it was solid.“

“Man I wish this place existed when I went to school here. Located on a main drag in a converted yellow home. Space is two floors and very open, small bar, but the open space and patio makes up for it. All the beers were very good. Easily the best stop in town. They had a three tierd beer menu of regular/seasonals, small system, and barrel aged, or something like that. Any way I’ll go anytime I’m back in town.“

“Stumbled in drunk coming from Black Rocks and came out with $80 worth of beer. Check dates on IPA’s. Found some fun Shorts and Odd Side one of the better selections in town located at the end of a main drag through town.“

“Man... this was a little bit of a disappointment and I’m a bit crushed about it. Maybe I hit it at a bad time, maybe I have crap luck, maybe... Anyhow, we were traveling through and I re-routed the gang past and we had to wait till 4:00 pm for the place to open. At 4:05 the place was pretty packed, so maybe hour should be expanded? Anyhow, it was a brewery /tasting room inside a house, which was kinda cool and kinda quirky. Tap list was a little weaker than expected... (bad timing on my part?) I expect at least one beer to be a "dang... can’t get that in bottles (cans)... and it sounds awesome. Glad I stopped by for this." This was not the case. Most of the beer was readily available minus a fruit beer, a spice beer, a mild and a session IPA at the time of my visit. Service was OK... prices were OK... but I was hoping for grand slam. Hope to be back soon... hope I just hit a bump in the road.“

“Nicest selection I have seen in a Upper Peninsula beer store, including an assortment of bombers--Belgians, Stones, etc.“

“A really cool space both downstairs and up. Free popcorn downstairs and huge open space upstairs. I believe they only serve their own beers so I can’t say the selection is great, but I think they had 8 on tap when I was there.“

“Once upon a time, during those heady college days of yore (circa 1991) we went here to buy a 1/2 barrel of Pabst. The clerk was NOT amused since we opted to pay the tab with returnables and a friends cashed out piggy bank (which was 99%) pennies. Good times. Screw ‘em I say, let them have BLATZ!“

“Try to eat here any time we are in Marquette. More upscale than your typical Yooper restaurant. Beer offerings include not just their own. Enjoy dining while you look out over Lake Superior. You can also see the dock where your fish came in.“

“Was basically passing through town and stumbled upon this place. Granted I was the only dude in the place, but the lady at the register came back and helped me out. She was very knowledgeable and spent at least 15 minutes chatting with me about Michigan craft brews. Selection was not huge and the craft was mainly the MI stuff like Bells, Founders, New Holland and Jolly Pumpkin, which was cool because it was my first chance to pick up something from JP.“

“When I looked at the beer list I saw a whole bunch of wheats and not much else, but 3 wheats later I was one happy camper. These beers were outstanding and paired with Thai green curry whitefish, well my friend, it was as good as it gets. Highly recommended.“

“Great selection of beers, for such a small area. The best in town by far. Usually find some interesting harder to find stuff from Founders there. Decent selection of liquor as well, including single malt scotch. Home brewing supplies, and wine if need be.“

“White’s was heaven-sent when I was living in more remote regions of the Upper Peninsula. They have a good selection of Michigan micros, many singles, and some interesting Belgians. Also, decent homebrew supplies. They have a cool wall of old Michigan bottles above the register. Prices are fair.“

“Very popular place in Marquette; my second attempt was successful. Make reservations if you’re planning on visiting on a summer weekend. I believe there were 7 beers on tap, all were decent, but nothing was mind-blowing, and the styles were the standards. The bar area is tiny and crowded, so opt for a table if you can. I had a very good curried whitefish sandwich, and the menu was a bit more diverse than the typical meat-eggs-potatoes UP restaurant. Service was so-so; the staff seemed overwhelmed by the 3/4 capacity crowd, and I waited 10 minutes for a table, even though several were open. Marquette’s a pretty cool place, and this is a stop worth making.“

“Lovely old charming bar with ancient bottles (some from breweries dead in the Prohibition era) lining the walls, a beautiful light wood bar, stained glass panes and historic prints, gray tin ceiling....service a bit slow at first (’cuz I was alone?) but improved quickly....food ok, a nice whitefish sandwich was fresh and well cooked but the fries were obviously frozen commercial crap....and the beer, alas, was pretty mediocre. Very cheap as are most brewpubs in the upper midwest, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.“

“Great atmosphere. We got there on a busy Saturday night. Were told we would have 1.5 hour wait, but waitress found us a place within a half hour. Gave us time to grab a couple of pints of some very good brew. Friendly patrons! Wonderful whitefish. They don’t over feed you with ridiculously large portions. Prompt service. Worth the wait.“

“Pretty standard brewpub. Nice old timey feel. Beers are decent and very drinkable, quite affordable too. Service was efficient. They have a good selection of local seafood (probably the best in town).“
