46 /100 Galera's Rock Bar (Bar) AV. BENJAMIN CONSTANT, 714 Basically, this place is a basement with a bar, a stage, and two separate patios. But, dingy as it is, it makes for a cool hang out spot, and there’s live music just about every night. The beer selection isn’t much to write home about, but they have a handful of good, craft beers, plus one with their own name on it (rating will soon follow).
UPDATE: Their beer, "Galera’s Strong Ale," was actually homebrewed and bottled (in the neighboring town of Estrela) for the bar. Although I can’t technically Add this beer, I can say it was pretty darn good, definitely worth a taste! |
48 /100 Supermercado STR (Grocery Store) AV. BENTO GONÇALVES, 639 Even with over 100 different beers to choose from, there aren’t many craft/artisanal brands. They do, however, have beers from not one but two different breweries representative of the town. They offer many macros and several imports as well. |
62 /100 R. MAL. DEODORO, 252 This place is spectacular, large, with a loft, and a very comfortable outside section. Dimly lit, very fancy, nothing but Salva on draught (which I have recently discovered is very good liquid). I didn’t see a bottle selection, but I have a suspicion that one exists. The pizza looks and tastes amazing. Great spot! |
58 /100 Imec Supermercado (Grocery Store) RUA JÚLIO DE CASTILHOS NO. 1157 CENTRO A seemingly average grocery store. There are many 12pks, 6pks, and singles to choose from; some macro, some imported, and quite a bit of craft/artisanal. |
60 /100 Tombado (Restaurant) RUA BORGES DE MEDEIROS, 225 An elegant looking restaurant right across the street from the park in Centro. All street parking, but a good amount of it. The service was a little sparse at times, but once we got a good waiter he stayed on top of it. The selection of beers is decent; there are many, but nothing is earth-shattering. They do carry a couple of Prost Biers (a local craft brewed about 20 minutes from the restaurant). There is also a pub located in another room inside the restaurant that has a great feel, and that night they had some great musical talent! |
86 /100 Bier Box Distribuidora - Prost Bier (Beer Store) RUA BORGES DE MEDEIROS, 475 There are many bottles here, all singles (no packages). Also, they carry already filled growlers of Prost Bier, which is located about 15 minutes away, though they do not do any filling themselves. The selection is awesome! Many Belgian beers, many Brasilian craft beers (which is what I came for), and then random other European stuff. They do sell all sorts of real deal glassware as well. A great spot if you find yourself in Lajeado, RS. |
74 /100 Pit Stop Conveniencia (Bar) RUA AVELINO TALINI, 268, SALA 02, BAIRRO UNIVERSITARIO A small place with quite a bit of Homer Simpson memorabilia, including much of the Duff logo as well. A lot of seating, most of it outside as 5-piece patio furnature. You don’t get much service at the table, but the cashiers are very good about things as you approach the desk. This is especially significant since I don’t speak very good Portuguese and I was purchasing several beers to take with me as I was leaving. Quite a fun show that was. Anyway, a very nice stop spot since Lajeado doesn’t have very much of them. I’ll probably be hitting this one up again before I return to the States. |
