“Really a restaurant that also does beer. On a very busy road, large parking lot, can get crowded. Patio overlooks the parking lot and busy road but was pleasant enough. Friendly servers seemed overworked. Tasty burgers. Decent beer.“

“Big restaurant in downtown Taos. There are two parking lots, with ample space. The interior is maze-like and comfortable. The bartenders are overworked and seemed uninterested in conversation. There are a lot of taps, with some reasonably tasty stuff. This is a fun stop, and the best beer stop in Taos.“

“Yep, gotta hit this when in Taos ... pizza was pretty good. Beers average with one or two above. My family loved the food which was a big plus ...“

“This is a big restaurant with plenty of bar seating. There's a few separate rooms inside and a foosball and pool table. Plenty of TV's are around with an array of sports. The draft list is pretty extensive here. They had far more of their own offerings at this location than at the Mothership. Some regional guest taps were also on. The food menu is a little more extensive as well. They took advantage of the opportunity to have a more comprehensive pub experience in town when this location opened.“

“Decent enough place. They server burgers now. Not sure how long that’s been a thing. It’s order at the counter and take a number. I tried the house IPL. Nothing special, but certainly not bad. Pretty good tap selection, including guest taps. Burgers were so-so.“

“Located in downtown Taos, this place isn’t much to look at from the outside, but you will be glad if you decide to go inside. The atmosphere is pretty cool, and they have live music regularly, along with a full menu and a solid lineup of their own fine brews.“

“Weird place, the crowd is, um, local? Paid $5 cover on Friday night to listen to an irish folk band (decent). The construction was ongoing, and there were some building materials and random decorations piled in the back. The service was good enough, the selection is only OK, they’re not using all their taps, and there are only regional selections, with not a lot of variety. Value is OK. Their imperial IPA was not a quality product.“

“In Taos for a conference and this place was a 2 minute walk from our house... very convenient location. However, the first time I tried to go was in the afternoon on a weekday. Apparently, this place is only open 4-9 during the week! Made it back though and I’m very glad I did. Friendly, small town feel with good, cheap beer and better food. My fatty burrito was awesome. 8 beers on tap plus 1 guest. I haven’t had much beer from New Mexico, but this was a bit better than your standard brewpub fare and plenty of variety. Service was excellent... the food was prepped and served in about 3 minutes flat and the place has a cozy, friendly feel. Definitely recommend if in the area, though probably not worth going too far out of your way for.“

“Very friendly place right off the main drag. Had a couple outdoor seating areas, two indoor rooms and a small bar. Food was ok - we came in on sushi night and it was surprisingly good. The beer was pretty average, but the staff made up for that. very cool and comfortable adobe building and I would not hesitate to come back.“

“Pretty cool place, good to have an addition to the NM scene. Modern interior with a DIY look. Good prices. The only drawback was that all of the house beers, which sounded (and looked!) promising, had the same type of infection. But they do have decent guest taps until that gets sorted out.“

“Beer isn’t the best, highlight is their chili beer. Still, its in an old adobe building in the center of Taos. I’ve been there on multiple occasions, always in the summer. Great for a post dinner drink.“

“Friendly vibe like drinking in someone’s living room. But the beers aren’t very good. I thought the Senor Fumar in bottles was their finest brew by far - the others range from mediocre to downright sketchy.“

“Much friendlier than expected and totally unpretentious. Felt like a local. Sat at the tiny bar, which has all of 3 or 4 seats. Staff very friendly and chatty but it was also off-hours and easy to do that. Lots of options for seating, especially with the addition of patio in summer. The beers were largely disappointing but alright, and the chili beer was actually pretty good. Worth a visit when in Taos. Had 6 house plus 4 guest taps.“

“I ate here with five others... I doubt we could have fit inside, but the large patio dining area was very pleasant. Our lunches were all hearty, filling and delicious. Their own beers encompass a mishmash of dissimilar styles... I had a "Mr. Personality" American strong ale, which tasted English; malty-estery with banana and boozy notes. Drinkable but not especially good. So, while I wouldn’t make Eske’s a beer destination, it’s a nice little hippie eatery to escape from the tourist trap bustle for a while.“

“Tiny little old-fashioned style adobe building, I guess as they all are in Taos, set back from the main road. Outdoor seating of I think 8 picnic tables much more spacious than the interior, pleasantly shaded, gravel sort of ground. Service was friendly and prompt and knew the offerings well enough. Pretty short list, but a good variety. The guest taps offered were solid "major" crafts, and though I don’t generally care whether or not a brewpub offers guest beers, if they do take the effort, I’d rather see more local selection. Not a huge deal though. Beer itself was pretty good, on the good side of average, and the Black Cat was quite tasty and interesting. Food was marvelous, mostly vegetarian (robust vegetarian, nothing meek) but often with the option to add ground turkey. I got some burrito something or other, massive serving size, but all great, healthy stuff so after downing the whole thing I was stuffed but didn’t feel disgusting. Though the beer itself perhaps is not destination worthy, everything else is just so right.“

“Went to Eske’s on a pretty low key day and had great service and had a great chat with the owner and founder. Tasted several of teir brews and was overall impressed but definitely not amazed. I had a beef brisket and it was one of the best i have had in a while so big props. I’ll definitely eat there again!“

“This is a cozy little brewpub in the touristy town of Taos, NM. Very limited indoor seating including 4-5 seats at the "bar" (the indoors resembles a Mexican/southwestern pub) but there are a bunch of tables outside. Very nice outdoor seating with pretty trees providing plenty of shade. A very chill, friendly place. They had 6 beers on tap including some interesting styles (imperial stout, green chile ale, schwarzbier). Beers available in pints, 10 oz, and 4 oz samplers. The beers were mediocre to good, mostly good. Also they have a few guest taps (nothing crazy - a Stone, New Belgium, and something else), and a couple bottles. The food menu is short, but the food is outstanding. I got the "fatty" which was a tortilla filled with mashed potatoes, ground turkey, beans, green chili, and cheese on top. It was HUGE and so good!! Reasonable pricing. Definitely a great place to stop, don’t forget to try the green chili ale.“

“My kind of joint, off the beaten path, good beer, good food, nice people. Another reviewer used the term "bohemian joint" perfectly. I enjoyed my visit, you should too.“

“Great setting, a beautiful bbuilding with the interior that has the look and feel of an old English pub. Great food and very good beers. I don’t generally like chili beers (they’re palette killers) but theirs is the best I’ve ever had, with good chili flavor that’s more subtle and never overpowering. The brewer also brought out his Saison, which was excellent with nice peppery notes.“

“Kind of a crowded small house with an outdoor area for music and other festivities. Service was unattentive...I had to track down my waitress to pay the bill. Average to above average brews, best chile beer I’ve had to date. Nice SW food selection.“

“I visited here in 2000, traveling from Denver to NM to pick up Rt. 66 on the way home. Still before I got serious about beer, but being a lifelong Midwesterner, I was charmed by being able to sit at a picnic table in an adobe courtyard and enjoy a beer. All I had was the Green Chile Beer, which may be very low on most RBer’s lists, but it started me on my quest to make chile and beer live together. Best enjoyed for the atmosphere; a little beer haven in an overpriced artsy tourist trap.“

“April 2004 was most recent visit (been there a few times). Cool little bohemian joint in the touristy Taos. If you can avoid a crowd, you stand to score some good beers and good food here.“

“I like this place... good black bean and green chili burrito... crowded seating but it adds to the atmosphere. Had a small band playing when we arrived, and we sat at the bar, which is really just 3-4 seats on a small window to the kitchen. Beer was interesting, and they had a few guest taps, Blue Corn Oatmeal Stout and some New Belgium. Visited in March 2003.“

“Good and interesting SW food. Cool very little place. Good service. One drawback...their beers are horrible. The place can’t keep a brewer and the only beers I have had there that are passable are the porter and the stout which have enough dark malts to cover the abundant off-flavors that ussually accompany their beers. They do have guest taps though and last time I was there they had the Il Viccino IPA. WOHOO.“

“Not near enough space here to tell one of my oddest moments leading up to having a beer ... will gladly share over a pint if you want to listen. Funny now, but wasn’t then.“
