80 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD Cozy little taproom and some solid beer. The staff is great and attentive. I’ve enjoyed most all of their beers. |
58 /100 Bass Lake Draft House (Restaurant) 124 BASS LAKE ROAD Came here on 19.5.2016. A commercial beer bar with some good draft beers mainly from the area. Food was ok. Not a bad place but nothing special. |
82 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD Came to this brewery, located in an Industrial estate, on 28.4.2016. Seems they brew here already since 1995 (4th oldest craft brewery in NC). Surprisingly large brewery visible behind a glass door. What I really liked is you can sit inside the brewery on beer benches enjoying your beer. Around 10 beers on tap. Every Friday they have one cask conditioned beer. I had a dark IPA, a bit whatery and the Hop Roar, a quite good West Coast IPA and a very good Belgium Oak Triple. Kathy the pub mananger was super nice and I had some good fun with the locals. I definitely will come back! |
78 /100 Bass Lake Draft House (Restaurant) 124 BASS LAKE ROAD Visited while on a trip to see the family in NC, they have a ton of beers on tap and bottles. I’d say about 40 or so. Food was great, and tons of TVs showing sports, kids could draw with crayons to keep busy. The service was good, what you’d expect from a nicer pub sports place. I’d go again when visiting again. |
92 /100 My Way Tavern (Restaurant) 301 W CENTER ST Big supporter of NC craft beer. Great food & service. Friendly atmosphere. Monthly food/beverage specials. Plenty of bar seats & tables. Live music & trivia nights. Several special events throughout the year. A great place to frequent frequently. |
66 /100 Bass Lake Draft House (Restaurant) 124 BASS LAKE ROAD Many a post-frisbee stop here in Holly Springs. It’s a conventionally appointed sports bar type of joint with a passable range of US and local craft micros along with more BMC than you usually see at an "ale house." Decent pub grub, good service, always specials worth trying in both potables and edibles. Worth a stop if in the neighborhood, though Tyler’s Apex is just a few minutes up the road. Just saying. |
82 /100 Bass Lake Draft House (Restaurant) 124 BASS LAKE ROAD About 35 beers on tap plus bottles. Good food, service was good, reasonably priced menu with pretty good selection. Solid sports bar. |
74 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD I’ve been by here a few times over the years for the Saturday afternoon brewery "tour." You walk in, there’s a little room that sells stuff...bottles, kegs, glasses, etc. Then you continue through to a big, wide-open warehouse filled with brewing equipment. Mixed in amongst the fermenters is a small bar, usually with a couple taps pouring (free) pints of beer. Around 1, 1:30, the taps are shut off for the tour part, which consists of the brewer standing up on a platform explaining how beer is made and answering questions. 10 minutes later, the tour’s over, the taps are reopened, and you can continue drinking for free for another hour or two. Basically, it’s the best brewery tour ever. Depending on the week, the crowds can be pretty thick and the lines slow, but you’re waiting for good free beer, so quit complaining. |
80 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD In town for the holidays, so a few of us went for the weekly tour. There was quite a crowd gathered when they opened the doors. Taps were opened while everyone got a beer, then shut down while the co-owner gave a nice talk about the beers, the process and the history, showing everyone around the equipment. The the taps were open again for another round. Nice friendly place and the beer was very good. |
68 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD quick fast service. good seasonal offerings.. |
86 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD Was a little worried by the dog greeting outside. Went to pick up their seasonals. Nothing offered like the others have mentioned, but then I was in and out. Service was still great. A bar at the location. Glasses and shirts all over the place. One for each of their beers. Tiny. |
86 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD April 2007 -- Stopped by during retail hours and was impressed with the friendly reception and yummy beers (our host gave us a glass and the taps!). I love seeing guys like this being successful and look forward to trying each of the beers I bought to take out. |
82 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD Went here expecting a few people.. boy was i wrong haha.. its a fairly small brewery but very nice on the inside.. they had some hop plants growing outside when i went.. they explain the process and answer your questions.. then turn on the taps! awsome.. but DONT go in the summer.. its extremly hot back there.. miserable. |
66 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD Great brewery, and well worth the time for a tour. The typical tour lasts around 2 hours, 1.5 of which you spend drinking. They are also free, and usually crowded. Brewers are great, and the beer is very good too. You might want to have a designated driver at this one though. |
80 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD There is nothing fancy about the weekly brew tour at CBC in Holly Springs, but there is not supposed to be. This brewtour is not for those who are expecting to be lead through hallways with glass windows only to be greeted with a 6 ounce taster at the end.
This brewtour is for true fans and friends of the Carolina Brewing Company. The owners of the Brewery show their true love of their work by personally leading the tour every saturday. When you arrive you are lead straight to the heart of the brewery where your fellow CBC lovers all gather in a big group to hear the presentaion on how the brewing process works. The staff is very patient and answers any and all questions. After a short (20 minute or so) presentation, glasses are handed out and the open tap tasting session begins.
The tasting session lasts about an hour and it is easy to make new friends amongst the many regulars who parttake in the tour weekly. It is truly a hidden gem in central NC. Thanks CBC! |
60 /100 140 THOMAS MILL ROAD This was just a beer tour of the facility, and the crew was very friendly and helpful. I like CBC. The way I see it, this was a fun tour, but the numerical categories do not apply. |
