“Just a liquor store for the feel, nothing special. No service to speak of. Selection is decent for the location, but really nothing to talk about. A few good area micros, but most surprising was the handful of trappist ales. Value is decent, maybe 30% mark up from what prices are back in CO. Overall, allowed me to sock up on some good beers for the week, and the best place around, but I think the Cash Wise in Watford may have a larger micro selection.“

“Very big place with a ritzy sports pub feel. The service was very nice, but not very attentive and their knowledge was limited on their stock. Best selection I have seen on this side of the state; close to fifty taps, and atleast as many bottles. Their two brews are nothing amazing, but they have some good beers on tap and in stock. Got pizza and it was decent. Value was the worst part, although I did get ten dollars off due to happy hour, was still paying $4 a beer for non specialty micros. Overall, nice place, oasis of selection for the location, and livable prices during happy hour.“

“Had lunch today and a couple pints, really an upscale place for Williston, ND. Menu is concise, but lots of good looking items. I had the California chicken sandwich and it was pretty tasty. Grilled asparagus for a side was a nice choice and it really hit the spot. Better selection of craft brews that most places in town and a few bottles. Can’t say that the prices were all that great, but most places in town are high… thank you oil boom. Service was better than average, so that was nice. The best part was the company and it was basically my going away lunch. Tomorrow I say good bye to Williston and fire up the moving truck!“

“An odd place because of it’s location in an oil/gas boomtown. Very expensive but that comes with the territory. It’s about half macro, half craft on the taps. Most of the bottles are nothing exciting. They probably do the best they can with the limited ND distribution of beer. Only have two of their contract brews on tap and both were solid. I’ve been here four times and tried everything local. Impressed with the Beaver Creek and Fargo beers I’ve had. The crowd is always different depending on the time of day but the place is huge so it’s easy to get away from unwanted company.“

“Small establishment with great highway exposure from the main drag through town. However, access is rather inconvenient… possibly why the prior three eateries in this very spot failed in the five years I’ve lived here. Also why it took me so long to stop in and check things out. Small scale remodel inside, looks fresh, but fairly plain. Definitely done in a budget minded way. Burger was great, but way overpriced. ½ Pound specialty burger = $13. Menu basically consists of all burgers, all of the mainstream variety. Beer selection was good, 6-7 taps and 15-20 bottles. Not sure of the price, since it was lunch we didn’t partake. Service was friendly, good in fact. Unfortunate only one waitstaff (and probably only one cooking too) made it a little slow. With enough new places opening Williston I would think they’ll have a tough time making this work.“

“An impressive remodeling job done at the El Rancho Hotel has pretty well become the nicest eatery in town. Modern and tasteful. Lunch menu was pretty basic, but expensive. $15 for a bacon cheeseburger… one of the cheaper options and it was very good quality. Beer menu runs 40 taps deep with a comparable bottle list. $5 pint for most craft is actually less than I thought it would be. I hear they’ve been plenty busy since they opened and today was no exception. Our service was fast and friendly and it looked like no one had to wait much to be seated. Beer is contract brewed (somewhere in MN, but I couldn’t get any more info) and both house taps were blown. Overall I think I’ll be a semi-regular at WBC for beer, but probably won’t cough up the cash to eat very often.“

“This the the old Elks building, remodeled with a boutique hotel being part. Very nice food, top of the mark for Williston. Prices are on the higher side, but the meals are very fine. As of April ’13 no taps, but a bottle list of 20+ micro and imports. Was told taps are coming soon. Happy hour prices in the lounge a pretty fair. Excellent service. Rating is based on the beer aspect, otherwise it would be much higher.“

“From the time we moved here in ’09 through late ’12, J-Dubs was easily the best bar/grill/restaurant in Williston. But, the huge oil boom has brought forth competition and options a greater. Service is still good and the menu is solid. Decent food, decent prices – the pizza here is solid. Beer selection is minimal; typical macros and 6-8 micros on tap. Fun atmosphere.“

“Sixteen cooler doors to choose from with damn near any macro and a few micros. Sightings from England, Scotland, Ireland, China, Japan, and Mexico. The new owner has really done a nice job remodeling and improving inventory. There are only a few micro lines carried, but that is slowly growing. There aren’t many craftbeer drinkers in the area, but with the oil boom that is changing and thus improving the beer selection. **Edit, 11/24/13. Many of the new lines in this distribution area are brought in, but not all. Stock does have the tendency to sit around for a while and anything not in the coolers is right under the lights. Prices tend to be a bit higher here than the competition across town and service is average at best.“

“**Update 11/22/12** after living in Williston for nearly 4 years now I have seen this place grow considerably in the micro dept. Remodled liquor store and an increased selection. Still nothing crazy here, but at least I can get some decent brews consistently now. Finally a singles shelf, specialty/seasonals, and some bombers have hit town. **Update 4/13/13** The increase in craft beer has continued to improve. The store manager does his best to get everything new that he can. Hopslamn made it this year, New Belgium LoF series, the Rochefort line... prices are a little better than the other store in town. For western ND, this has really become an oasis in a beer wasteland.“
