“Pretty large place which was packed in the evening. Seems very popular as a dinner establishment and I've barely managed to find a place for me. Was standing up for a while. Pretty nice selection of around 20 taps, different styles and good to very good quality from what I've tried. Service was efficient considering very crowded bar. Would prefer visiting on a more quiet day, but definitely worth checking out.“

“Medium sized place, patio with fire pits outside. Nice combo between cozy and industrial inside. 12 taps of their beers, solid range of styles. Good quality of beer. Some more beer in fridges, but those seemed like 4/6 packs to go.“

“Smallish taproom inside a barrel facility. We were welcomed by Paul who showed us great hospitality and gave us a private tour. 6 beers on tap and more in bottles. I'm a big fan of the brewery so loved all of the beers. A must visit if you're in town.“

“Rather small, somewhat cozy, kind of cramped and quite busy establishment in the city center. They had only several beers by the Porter brewing including Red Ale on cask which was good. Service is a bit slow since once person is preparing the food and serving the drinks. OK just for the quick stop, but nothing more.“

“Pretty simple taproom in the city center with bar on the one side of the room. Wooden interior with brick walls. They had about 15 taps, different styles. The quality of beer was good to very good. Nothing spectacular, but definitely worth stopping by.“

“Stopped in here as we were leaving Bend to check them out. Rustic log cabin style building. Good selection of beers and decent food though nothing memorable.“

“Went here a number of years ago and toured the brewery and visited the tasting room. Nice experience and a small group for the tour. If I remember correctly, it was about a dozen people. Large selection of beer for sale. In fact, I think I might still have 1 or 2 in my beer cellar. “

“Can't believe I haven't rated this yet. I visited back in 2015. The way they used the old schoool to house a hotel, restaurant and taproom is ingenious. This was my first McMenaimn's experience, and got me into what they were doing with historic structures. Definitely worth a visit.“

“I was there shortly after they opened and there was a TV crew filming their opening. The facility is beautiful, and the long bar is also great. When I was there the service was great, though not a large crowd. Found out that the owner is a big fan of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and when they demolished the State Mental Hospital he went to the site and salvaged a lot of material to build the brewery. I really like their brews and the food was decent.“

“I was hauled in here as my friend stated they had the best fried chicken ever. Best? Maybe not, but it was really good, especially after a day in the car. Dive bar interior, pool tables and video games, long bar, multiple tables. Quite noisy, boisterous crowd. Taps run the gamut between macro lagers and local craft. Great service.“

“finally made it to the original location! Looks like a huntin lodge (kind of) with an odd layout. Bar is located in the back of the place. Busy for a Sunday night. Actually had less taps than the Boise location. Food available, but I did not eat. Service was OK, but that may be due to the crowd. Beer, as always, was pretty good.“

“Nice location in an idustrial park on the periphery of Bend. Lots of outdoor space for sitting and activities. Indoor space has an industrial vibe. Nice selection of beers with a supoer helpful staff. Place really gets buzzing on a nice weekend. Definitely worth a stop“

“Huge space, lots of merch, very very good beer (as you'd expect). Flights of four, good selection, bunch of stuff you see elsewhere, bunch of what appear to be taproom exclusives. Everything very good for style, as you'd expect. Well worth a stop, this place is great.“

“Really nice food, good atmosphere, friendly staff, barely a beer bar. Their house IPA is damn tasty, but nothing else here is all that hard to find (although since most of it is local, it's very good).“

“Although not actually a cellar, it certainly resembles one when you walk in. Dimly lit, dark wood and naugahyde, looks like a classic, staid English pub. Small s lection of handles, all cask, favoring the English styles. No flights s, but taster pours were available. Fun , quiet place.“

“First stop in Bend. Nice layout here with a taproom, nice sized patio and about four semi-permanent food trucks. Flights available, had the brewer select mine for me. Beer ranged from good to very good. Food I ordered was really good. Disc golf theme throughout. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Nice place. Big outside seating, three food carts on a Saturday. Some kind of frisbee golf thing going on. Service was excellent. They had about 12 beers on tap. Nothing like Berko noticed in terms of strong infections. I really liked this place.“

“This gets the prize for worst brewery visit in Bend. We visited on a Thursday evening when it was somewhat busy. They do flights of 5 (mine was $11). Lots of cool styles available. Unfortunately, almost everything on our flight was infected -- mostly with diacetyl. I haven't had this atrocious a flight in a long time. Nothing was pleasant or even drinkable; it's a wonder they're in business. Goes to show that apparently even people in Bend don't know what passable beer is supposed to taste like. Avoid this brewery like the plague. Awful stop.“

“I don't know what these previous reviewers are thinking. Yeah, they do Belgian beers, but they really don't know what they're doing. They do flights of 4 ($10) or 8 ($20) of any beers you want. My wife & I tried a flight of 8 and weren't happy with a single beer on the flight. They just don't know how to control the Belgian yeast, like most North American breweries who attempt Belgian beer styles. Most beers were estery, floral and alcoholic, with little complexity. They do not deserve any high status in the scene. They just don't really know how to brew proper Belgian ales. I wouldn't return and certainly wouldn't recommend a visit for beer quality. The place itself is nice and the service is friendly and astute.“

“Right next to Boss Rambler and Sunriver, the original location is right here. Cool spot, with an extensive taplist. Preset flight of 10 available for $12, which is a ridiculous deal. No custom flights, but bartenders will give you generous free tastes of anything. Wasn't too impressed with most beers I tried, but maybe that was luck of the draw; I've liked many of their beers in the past. Friendly service, and a comfy patio area. Worth a look when in Bend.“

“Right next to Sunriver and 10 Barrel, this is a cool stop. They had a bunch of hop-forward beers on tap with little else. 5 oz pours of anything, usually for $3. Wasn't too enthused with their beers; their hop profiles just weren't too invigorating. Competent beers, but not anywhere close to top of the city. Wouldn't really recommend a stop.“

“Right next to Boss Rambler and 10 Barrel, this is a nice little brewpub. 12 taps, with custom flights of 6 for $12. But their taplist wasn't all that special when I visited; they didn't have any of their BA or wild ales available. Their beers are competent and all, but the taplist left something to be desired. Astute, friendly and helpful service. Worth checking out when in Bend.“

“Located a block from GoodLife, this is a cool spot. I love a lot about what they're doing: farmhouse/wild beers, beer geek themed, beautiful tasting room, small pours of everything available. But their beer just isn't up to snuff. I tried 3 of their beers on tap; but I've tried many of their beers prior. Their yeast / funk profile is often off-based -- often big time. One of their beers was served on cask and was pure vinegar -- I don't know how you can serve such crap. Service was friendly and helpful. Worth a stop; just don't expect top-quality beers.“

“Great spot, right next to The Ale Apothecary, on a big plot of land. Cozy tasting room, with plenty of outside seating. Flights of 6 available for $12 or so, but they won't do flights if you sit outside -- then you just get shitty plastic cups. Beer quality is extremely high. I enjoyed all 6 of the beers I had, which is unusual. They nailed the big stouts, west coast IPA, and wine BA saisons/wild ales. Very friendly service. This was one of our top spots in Bend. Highly recommended.“

“Cool spot, with a spacious, fairly modern, high-ceilinged interior. When I visited, there was only outside/patio service for some reason. So no flights, just 8 or 16 oz pours in shitty plastic cups. The bartender was still nice enough to give me some tastes. Decent but small beer selection, with a couple of interesting offerings. All 3 beers I tried were good quality. Not the biggest highlight in this beer town, but if you have time, it's worth a stop. Solid place.“

“Awesome spot, very close to many other breweries, but tucked away on a big plot of land next to an elevated part of the freeway. Expansive, modern interior, with an equally expansive outside seating area. Large taplist, with flights of 4 available. They had 4 BA beers on when I visited, which can be included on the flight for an upcharge -- my flight was still super reasonably priced though given that. Excellent beer quality, as I've come to expect from Crux over the yeast. Very friendly, helpful service. Mandatory visit when in Bend.“

“The original Deschutes, right in downtown Bend. The interior is homey and inviting, almost a bit tired feeling at the bar. Huge space though with many sections to the place. It gets busy -- was only standing room at the bar on a Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. Decent selection of taps, but it was actually a bit underwhelming when I visited -- no real specialty brews available. Small pours available of anything. I guess I've been spoiled by the Portland location, as this one didn't seem all that exciting. But it's probably still worth a look when in Bend -- big part of Oregon modern craft beer history right here.“

“Don't overlook this place when in Bend. Fairly large operation in downtown Bend, with a big heated tent outside and a massive, pretty lawn area where dogs are friendly. I grabbed a flight of 6 ($15), and enjoyed every single beer on their. Lots of west coast IPAs available (no bullshit hazies here), dialed in exactly right. Friendly, efficient service. Excellent stop in this very beer-focused city.“

“Convenient location in central Bend, with plenty of parking and close to other breweries. Sort of modern, moderately-sized interior. You order at the bar; they bring food out to the table if you want some. 4 oz pours of everything available. What to say about their beer? Classic Oregon brewery and you'll likely find some of their specialty beers on here (Notorious, a BA Suge Knite and Wooden Femur were all on when I went). Very friendly, quick and helpful service. Mandatory visit when in Bend.“

“This is a gem of a beer store. Many singles available, both local and more distant, all stored in a cooler! When I was there a few days ago they had beers from Weldwerks (CO), Aslin and Adroit Theory (VA), Drekker (ND), and Double Nickel (NJ), among many others. They have a very knowledgeable person (maybe the owner) who really know his beers and breweries. If you are in the vicinity of Bend, OR, this place is a must visit.“

“This place was an awesome location to hang out and stay. An old catholic school that was turned into multiple bars and wings of a hotel, a big restaurant at the front, a theater, and the soaking pool of all soaking pools. As others have said, the beer and food were solid, but nothing exceptional. There were plenty to choose from, lots of house made beers and even house made spirits. The service was great though, and it felt nice to be inside. A cool spot in a cool beer town.“

“A large brewpub with somewhat cramped bar seating but with a to-go counter and ample traditional restaurant seating. They offer flights of either their core beers or their seasonal offerings, 6 beers in a flight. I had the Brussels Sprouts appetizer which had Kung Pao seasoning and pork belly - it was very good. The beers were all solid and the service really good.“

“In the heart of downtown Bend, with loads of indoor and outdoor seating, with a visible upstairs brewhouse and a very typical brewpub feel. Service was good, but a little inattentive and likely didn't know the beer that great, probably just there for a job. Selection was decent, variable styles and everything I tried was pretty solid. An old school vibe, but its been there a while, so it has charm.“

“The spot is very cool, woodsy and almost hillbilly of the northwest vibe, with multiple different seating areas. Service was good, friendly and knew the beer pretty well. Selection was large and varied, withe the beer being middle of the road, not great but not horrible. It's another brewery in Bend that you may not have been to yet.“

“The new pub with actual seating, a couple bars, a great patio, and a kitchen to boot. It follows what you would expect from the Boneyard aesthetic, lots of metal and concrete with some motorcycle and tattoo type art. Service is solid, but its counter style then bring the number to your table, so makes you feels pressured. Selection is solid, lots of taps that run all the styles, plus guest selections and even CBD colas. Great that they have a place you can actually hang out now!“

“This place is really well put together, with lots of wood inside and accents to make you feel like you are in an authentic Belgian brasserie, including Gregorian chants in the bathroom. A great view of the river from the back porch is gonna make this place amazing in the summer time. Service was great, a little flustered as they had just opened and the computer system was still out of sorts, but nice and there with suggestions. Food was awesome, authentic to Europe, not necessarily Belgium all the way though. Beer was all great, well done and ran the gambit on the Belgian styles. This place is up there as one of the best in Bend, in my opinion.“

“This super small tasting room and barrelstore is located just outside the main town centre area, but close to the cool locals hangouts like Cascade West. I called in after dropping off my rented mountain bike over the road. Hidden a little behind some units, but its a cosy place with a handful of sour / mixed ferm enthusiasts sipping away. 4 beers on draft, plus one rare 10.4% El Cuatro on cask conditioned hand-pull and two 75cl bottles opened for samples. Lady serving was super talkative and helpful. Beers were great, but the 75cls for takeout were a little out of my price range. Definitely a must-visit for sour heads in the area.“

“Smart looking place in the centre of Bend that seems as much of a family restaurant / bar as a brewpub tap, certainly a couple of mid-30s birthdays and suited-up groups on the back lawn taking advantage of the wine and cocktails list as much as the outdoor bar serving six Bend beers. Nice sunny day for it, and this outdoor area overlooking the river is big draw especially for dog owners. We found a table on the patio running along the outside of the bar and made it for happy hour half-price apps, so got some very nice sweet potato waffle fries, a flight of 6 and a glass of Californian champagne, bizarrely served in a large stemless wine glass. Overall, I like the feel of this place, its quite heavy on their modern branding which is splashed everywhere, but merch is high quality, food is good and beer is decent, though nothing too adventurous or high strength.“

“Yeah I can see why this is the top place in Bend. I wasn't sure at first as only really their unexciting core range gets distributed in the UK. But the rarer stuff here doesn't half get the blood going. As mentioned by others, it's as much a restaurant / business lunch venue option as it is a brewpub.. certainly the menu caters to both, and on entering it would seem the staff are keen to guide you to the area that suits, the smart dining tables, or the divey, sports-TV brewpub room which we felt more comfortable in. Not even midday on our visit and was already pumpin in here. I got a few brandy glass 4 oz pours, and all were decent. The bottle list had some choice barrel-aged rarities, all with a fair price. I didn't actually realise Deschutes made cider, so got a bottle of their wild-fermented Piquante Pomme, which was super wild, funky and complex. Also check out their hand-pulled cask conditioned bitter, often with various infusions, such as Juniper this time. Service spot on, and quick. If I'd had another day in Bend I'd probably call in here again.“

“Big modern looking place that sticks out in the middle of an otherwise drab industrial warehouse area outside the main town centre. First thing that struck me was the sheer amount of people in the lawn out front, lots of families, lots of 20-somethings gathered around picnic tables, large queue for the taco stand (we were told these were excellent but couldn't stay). By the sounds of it this huge crowd is normal here. Definitely wish we'd called by here earlier and spent an hour working through the tap list. Unfortunately I could only grab a couple of take-outs from the fridge, the price point for the tempting wax-sealed brett BA options were unfortunately not an option, so I got a couple of their standard range. Yeah, this is a popular place, enough to rival Bend Brewing Co in town.“

“In a strip mall kind of place called the box factory. Everything in this place looks like it was built about a week ago. The bar and seating area are fine with a nice roll up window that was open to let the breeze in. Very sterile chain restaurant environment. About 15 beers on tap and I got a sampler of 5 with 5oz each for $10 which is not bad. I had the fish and chips which were pretty good. 2 big pieces of cod and fries that were not too greasy. The beers were kind of plain and nothing really stood out. Of the 5 I had only 1 is listed on this site and I don't feel like adding the others.“

“Small place for Bend but they do have a nice lawn that goes right down to the Deschutes. There was a band setting up to play when I got there and it looked like this was a place for locals instead of tourist as there were many families with kids and a ton of dogs. Only 4 beers on tap which was kind of odd. The one beer I had here was just o.k. but the view made up for it.“
