“On the main drag. Shop front styles, production brewery in the back. Long bar and restaurant tables plus a few more on the sidewalk patio, including a table with its own firepit. Beers are hit or miss, pretty tasty when they're on point. You can order food from the restaurant next door at the bar. The restaurant usually has a unique Spearfish beer that they commission, though, so you might want to go there. Helpful friendly staff.“

“Looks nothing like the picture here. Modern strip mall location at the edge of town with unlimited parking. Inside has a small serving bar and some restaurant tables plus a deck out back on the river. Beers are tasty and creative. Pizza from the wood fired oven is pretty good to. Staff are helpful and friendly. Worth a stop even if just passing by.“

“Modern minimalist space in the main strip. We arrived close to closing team, but managed a few small pours and a crowler to take home. Beer quality was pretty good.“

“Nice modern building with a comfy family restaurant feel inside. Beers were of pretty high quality generally. Food looked good (large pizza oven), but they were so busy the snack we ordered never arrived. Server was very apologetic, and also very helpful with the beers. No flights, but small pours available so you can basically build your own. An excellent place, but maybe try and go when it's quieter if you want to try the pizza. Beers to go included a mixed IPA four pack which was also solid.“

“Old West style vibe inside and out, with a lovely outdoor balcony. No flights any more, but samples are offered. Beer quality was pretty mixed.“

“I stopped on a quiet early Tuesday afternoon in November and sampled the 12 beers they had on draft. It’s a pleasant spot with some decent beers. The owner and brewer, who was not the server, volunteered to answer any questions I had about the beers. Good guy, solid beers.“

“Had dinner next door at Farmhouse bistro and stopped for a beer after. Great location, the deck faces west overlooking the Spearfish creek and watching the setting sun. Had a couple of really good imperial stouts. What a way to end an evening.“

“Great looking place. The weather was perfect so we decided to enjoy our beers outside. There is also a balcony with nice views. No food. 10 beers on tap + 1 guest beer (Odell this time). Flights of 4 served. Wifi worked.“

“Came in like 5 minutes to closing after a very long but awesome day. Luckily the rowdy crowd had no intention of leaving so despite closing at 10 we stayed until almost 11 drinking and hanging out and place still packed. Cool lodge feel obviously bartender was quite nice and laid back. Bunch of beers on tap that were decent. Great spot“

“Had dinner here with Erica, Chris and Patty. Very nice selection of beers. No printed list for us to have at the table. If sitting close by the chalk board, you can see it there or ask the waitress, she’ll give you a peak at her list. The food was very well done and enjoyable.“

“A very nice new looking lodge. Good bar area with friendly Bar maid. Saturday night and a band was playing inside where the good old boys were and us. The hipsters were sitting outside.“

“Very nice ambiance, slightly rustic feel, but not unkept. Service at the bar was good, bartender knew the beers on tap well and was loose with a couple of tasters. Selection is amazing for this neck of the woods, taps were heavy with Odell’s, Boulevard, NBB, and Deschuttes, but even had a sour on tap. Food was very good, though a bit pricey. Beer prices were reasonable to cheep. Overall, very nice place, worth stopping in at if you are traveling though.“

“Not much to note for ambiance. Service was very good, friendly and knowledgable of the few beers they have. Selection is small, but they carry a good bit of regional and local brews, and some interesting imports too. Also sell some solo cans/bottles. Finally, Taps! I have never seen growler sales at a liquor store (from CO)! Very cool. Values was surprisingly good. Overall, if you are in the town and Crow Peak does not satisfy, has a few beers you may not have tried if you are not from the are.“

“Good ambiance, kind of a lodge feel, but really nothing special or unique. Service was good, but only bar service. Bartender was willing to sell me single cans too. Selection is good, about ten of their own beers on tap. Prices were alright, 6 bucks for four tasters I believe. Overall, very good beer, but the establishment is nothing amazing.“

“The building is spectacular and it’s right off the interstate. It’s a bit of a tight turn. They had 5-6 on tap. I didn’t see any guest taps. Prices were reasonable and pints are $1 off during happy hour. The beers were ok but nothing came close to knocking my socks off which dampers my enthusiasm for the place.“

“I purposely picked my hotel so I could visit this brewery, and I was not disappointed. The place is spacious and airy and the people there are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I sat at the bar and spent most of my time talking with Matt who was bartending and is also the assistant brewer. They had six of their beers on tap but it looks like they have taps for eight all together. Stopping here was one of the highlights of my trip and I cannot recommend enough stopping by if you are in the area.“

“This place opened up for two out of state motorcyclists thirsty to sample a craft brew 4 hours before they were officially open, and regaled us with Redwater ale and other fine stouts and such, the service was beyond expectation and the beer is now my new favorite, everywhere I went in SD I could find CP brews I could not get enough of the stuff! Great local brewery very friendly and welcoming, if your on your way to the usual South Dakota vacation stops dont forget about Crow Peak its worth the drive!“

“This place is a Philips 66 now, but the principle is the same. It has a large liquor store annex with a solid beer selection, including more singles than any other place in the region that I tried. And, the porn is conveniently located right next to the beer ;-)“

“The most mellow and friendly biker bar I have ever been to. 9 of the 12 taps are micro, including seasonals from New Belgium and Shiners. One of the regualrs is Smokey, a friendly dog. Definitely woth a look while in Spearfish.“

“Fantastic place. Five of their own beers on draft, plus a couple of guest beers, and a cider. Their seasonal beers last four to six weeks - it was a decent chili pepper ale when I was there. Food is limited to popcorn and pizzas from a nearby pizza place. Barman Eric was very enthusiastic, extremely friendly, and made me feel at home. Definitely THE place to drink beer in Spearfish.“

“Basically a liquor store with a decent beer selection. However, they had only one local beer and no regional stuff. Third store of the day with limited local stuff, I’m not sure why. Very friendly and helpful service.“

“Best Beer i have Ever Drank, and such a wide selection to choose from ----- LOOKOUT LAGER: This straw colored, medium-bodied lager is dominated by a dry maltiness. Hop bitterness is very low, however, a mild note of hops lingers on the tongue. SPEARBEER: This is a light copper-colored English style Pale Ale with a malty character and just a hint of fruitiness balanced by medium hop bitterness. The ale finishes with a pleasant hop flavor and aroma. 11th HOUR IPA: Hop aroma and flavor dominate this IPA. However, the malt character of this deep amber colored ale nicely balances the hop component thus avoiding a harsh bitterness. A truly quaffable beverage! BEAR BUTTE BROWN: This deep brown colored ale has a strong malt character with a hint of roasted barley. There is a slightly detectable hop bitterness, but no hop flavor or aroma. I am Sure that if you Contact Jeff at the Phone number posted on this page he would send you a big ol’ Growler of the beer of your choice.“

“For a gas station liquor store, this is probably the second best one I have come across. A pretty good selection of beer at good prices. Plus they have a pretty good selection of singles. A pretty good place to buy beer, if passing through or staying in Spearfish.“

“Yes it is a BP gas station with a liquor store attached. It is right off of exit 14 in Spearfish. The reason I entered this is they sell singles. Boulevard, O’Dells, Redhook, Yellowstone, etc. Each bottle sells for $1.49 each. This had a better selection of any liquor store I visited in either Rapid City or Sioux Falls. Had the same selection as the Dark Horse steak and brew in Custer,SD. So stop for gas and beer off of I-90.“
