70 /100 The Skinny Pancake -BTV (Bar) 1200 AIRPORT DR Killin' time. Small place with about 12 seats around the bar. Pretty good list for an airport, with prices as expected. Didn't try the food. |
70 /100 80 ETHAN ALLEN DRIVE, SUITE 2 Stopped in right from the airport, which it is conveniently next to. Arrived about 15 minutes before close, but they were totally laid back. As mentioned, all of their products are ginger beers of one sort or another. I ordered a couple of 5 oz tasters and was pleasantly surprised - both had a healthy ginger bite, but drank like adult beverages rather than sodas. The place itself is tiny in an industrial area, but homey nonetheless. Super friendly service. Worth a visit! |
70 /100 80 ETHAN ALLEN DRIVE, SUITE 2 This is a ginger beer brewery located in a space that used to house the Farnham brewery which has moved just next door. Brewer Kenny is doing very creative things with ginger beer, including barrel ageing and ginger beer cocktails. He has an interesting story and is a good conversationalist. The taproom is small, just a four stool bar and some tables in an industrial space. His beers are tasty and creative. |
68 /100 Gracey’s Deli and Store (Beer Store) 1333 WILLISTON ROAD For a convenience store, one might be surprised what they have in here. Caldera’s Mogli for $10, and the cheapest I’ve seen in this area of Vermont, plus the other normal Vermont offerings and distributed beers. Not exactly one of the cleanest, but their "beer guy" tries to keep "age-able" beers stocked somewhat properly (lower light, good temps). On the downside, don’t eat their deli, the chef doesn’t give a hoot and their breakfast sandwiches sit there way too long. |
62 /100 Cheese And Wine Traders (Grocery Store) 1186 WILLISTON ROAD Figured on adding this in here, because one can’t be deceived by the name. In the basement, there’s a decent selection of chilled and warm beer. Huge amount of Heady Topper just sitting there and a fair amount of other Vermont breweries. There seemed to be a huge amount of Southern Tier beers there. All the bottles seemed fairly clean and nothing looked too aged. And to all of the wine connoseuirs that like beer too, you may be impressed with this place, worthy of going back to when in the area, especially since I’m huge into beer and cheese pairing. Pricing seemed reasonable. |
68 /100 Healthy Living (Grocery Store) 222 DORSET ST. Grocery store setting, pretty clean and now that Growler Garage moved to downtown Burlington, well, this isn’t a bad place to go to for bottles. Well balanced between Vermont beers and outside of New England breweries. Easy going atmosphere, but only going back if I’m in the area. |
76 /100 The Skinny Pancake -BTV (Bar) 1200 AIRPORT DR Only bar in the airport. And my first place I ever had Focal Banger. Service is always good, at both locations. One on pre-TSA check in side and the other on the inside upstairs. Food is always great. Never a raw deal here. |
76 /100 The Skinny Pancake -BTV (Bar) 1200 AIRPORT DR This is the only bar in the quiet Burlington airport, and you get to drink Heady, or Lost Nation on tap. The crepes are just fine too; Skinny Pancake is a pretty nice local mini-chain and one could do much worse for food in an American airport. |
74 /100 The Skinny Pancake -BTV (Bar) 1200 AIRPORT DR Airport bar located by the US Airways and United hats up stairs. Has about 10 local beers on tap. Cans are also locals including heady topper. Decent selection. Food looks good too, but airport prices apply. Not a bad spot if faced with flight delays. |
62 /100 Healthy Living (Grocery Store) 222 DORSET ST. Healthy Living sits across Trader Joe’s, but offers a good microcosm of Vermont available beer. Not the best star in driving distance, but a reasonable choice when between Winooski and Waterbury. No singles but the beer manager can make some recommendations. |
