“What’s Åsele; a settlement in a northern swedish forest, in the middle of nowhere. Not a place to visit if you are interested in beers. Municipality of Åsele has 2500 inhabitants, the village 1500 - plus 300 foreigners/refugees. Since 1960s, 2/3 of the original population has fled from this awkward place in Sweden. The remaining population are the most fat people in all of Sweden and make about no children at all. In politics, the leading party is Åselepartiet, an original independent organisation. In supermarkets you may find beers up to 3.5% abv, and Systembolaget has apx 90 different beers, which makes this place the weirdest place to go to as beer-tourist.“
