“It was a beautiful summer night so the patio was hopping. We decided to opt for indoor seating on the "quiet" side, as opposed to the pub side. Service was slow, but it was in a languid kind of way, where people stroll to get to their next destination as opposed to run (hey this NOVA right?), but its more like how you aren’t going to guzzle that beer while you chat with your friends kind of way. I was fine with it, so while I chatted with family and nursed an Oktoberfest beer labeled from Munich, I checked out the decor. Old, dark wood, local art on the walls. Medium lighting. Very relaxing. When we received our food, I realized it was definitely worth waiting for this deliciousness. My group ordered an appetizer of bangers, and for dinner it was Beef Stew, Calf Liver and Beef Stroganoff. Honestly, and I’ve said it before, if it wasn’t rude to lick the plate, I probably would have. We will definitely be going back!“

“Surprisingly good beer list -- nothing rare, but a good selection of craft beers. both on tap and in bottles. We were there during a Washington Redskins game. While most of the patrons were clearly Redskins fans and the game was on the TV screens, it was a pretty polite crowd. The servers were extremely efficient and pleasant.“

“ Ambience: Typical Irish pub, with uncomfortable wooden furniture, some stuff on the walls, and a nice patio. Service: Solid, unprepossessing and friendly without being annoying. Selection: Average, in this age of large draft and bottle lists. However, this is the only place in the DC area I’ve found that has Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen ON TAP, which is even more delicious than in a bottle. Just be sure to order it without fruit, and for Pete’s sake, order the 22oz for just $7. They also have Delirium Tremens and a number of other US/UK craft beers on tap in addition to the venerable Guinness. They also have ’Firkin Fridays’, where they tap a microbrewery sixtel (40 pints). Food: Typical Irish pub fare, with some surprising additions (tacos?). The Guinness beef pie entree is incredible, as are the banger rolls appetizer. The bread pudding is criminally average for an Irish pub. Value: Two guys, five beers, a split app, two entrees and two desserts, and the check split right at $40. That’s a great value for this area. Overall: A great place to go if you’re in the neighborhood, if for no other reason than the on-tap Weihenstephaner.“
