“Was pretty empty when we went visited (afternoon). Beers were just OK. A lot of names for similarly tasting beer. The food was good. Need to go back and see if they have upped their game.“

“Drank in the empty Italian bar on a Saturday lunchtime. Guess I was a bit off season. Nice place with views of the inland sea. Four beer flight is available and decent value. Basic pub food was nice. There’s a Japanese restaurant here too, but I went with the Italian bar. Bit of a trek, but worth it if you are in the area. Bottles available to take away downstairs.“

“Large restaurant and souvenir shop along the Inland Sea. Closest train Station is Eigashima on the Sanyo line. Two restaurant areas, one Japanese and one Italian themed (the latter also has a buffet). There is also an upstairs dining area, overlooking the large parking lot, which has a sort of view of the ocean. Slightly pricey food menu, with pasta, fish, and burgers. Five beers on tap: 400ml for ¥550, and there is a four-beer tasting set for ¥1,000. Bottles also available in the souvenir shop. Prices do not include tax. The brewery’s pils goes by several names/labels, and some are slightly different in their hop additions, so it’s not exactly easy to know which pils is which. The brewer was on hand to explain the differences. Recommend the basic pils and the weizen. We were lucky to get an impromptu brewery tour and a couple of samples from the tank.“

“15 minute walk SW towards the sea from Eigashima Station. There is a Japanese restaurant and an Italian one, both serve the beers. The Italian has a buffet with lunch that was ok, and on the second floor there is a view across the Inland Sea. 5 beers on tap were not the same as listed on the menu (which never changes, it seems), so you had better ask what they really have. There are 2-3 other beers available in bottles for take out. Our trip was significantly improved by the fact that we got to speak with the head brewer and got a tour of the brewery. Don’t know if that is possible without Japanese ability or on a busy day. Great German style beers, though, ¥550 for 400ml.“

“To get to Akashi Brewery by train I took JR to Akashi station and then switched to a local train on the Sanyo line going towards Himeji & Aboshi for 9 minutes. A short walk towards the coast brings you to what looks like a highway rest stop complex that houses the brewery & restaurant complex. 1000¥ tasting set of 4 includes a Schwarz, Brown Ale, Weizen & Pilsner. They have a variety of other beers including Himeji (Alt) and a variety of pilsners but it can be confusing as the labels differ but lack stylistic information. So they make maybe 6-8 brews. Lunch choices were either Italian with a salad bar(1400¥) or burgers(8-850¥). Service was pretty slow though. Prices were tax excluded so my Eigashima burger and tasting set came up to 1950¥. Very quiet on a Thursday at lunch but a nice spot somewhat of a walk from the nearest station.“

“More of a tour bus stop for people visiting the beach/fishing village nearby. Still, it does have all malt beer they make on the premises. Nothing exciting, but most is drinkable. Not a bad place to go if you want a beer after some time on the beach. Also in walking distance to the famous Eigashima Sake brewery/distillery, who also make White Oak whiskey.“
