“We visited here on the way into LA. Fairly intimate interior but with plenty of seating, plus a great little patio out back. Mostly house beers, with a few guests. Flights / small pours available (about $3 per taster). House beers were solid -- I especially liked their biere de garde. Very friendly and astute service. Worth a stop if you have time when leaving or entering the big city.“

“Great local liquor store with a growing selection of rare and specialty beers. Fair pricing and no hoarding! Ask for Al and he’ll take good care of you.“

“Nice looking place, with lots of outdoor and indoor seating, surrounded by trees. Plenty of parking available. Large bar in the center with a floor-to ceiling island in the middle. Taplist was pretty nice, with good guest beers and several of their own brews on tap. Flights of four available, and you can mix in guest beers. Service was kinda disinterested for the most part. Food specials were decent; I had two meat-packed short rib tacos for $6. I actually thought the beers were no worse than so-so, and did not get any apple, so hopefully they have taken care of that little issue. Oh, and its now called Twisted Oak (still Lab Brewing though). All in all, not a bad place..“

“First stop of the tour. No issues with parking in the large lot. Place was fairly empty on a Tuesday afternoon. Service was friendly, but really slow overall. Beers available in taster sizes, so I ended up trying several. I was in general impressed with the beers that I tried. Prices reasonable. Did not try the food.“

“Stopped by while heading back up the 101, second time here. Cool place right off the freeway. Service was excellent, food was good. Had the session IPA which was average, but then sampled a porter and the 6th Anniversary, both very good. Friendly attentive staff!“

“Difficile de fournir un compte rendu honnête mais des 6 échantillons de leurs bières maison, seul la scotch ale m’a impressionné. Le reste était au mieux acceptable, disons que la table est resté garnie à notre départ. L’assiette d’humus était excellente et les assiettes avaient l’air très solide, probablement une force de la place cette cuisine. Le choix de décor médiévo-industriel et le visuel ésotérique me laisse perplexe dès le départ....Ça n’a sûrement pas aidé. À revisiter.“

“Visited my brother who was staying just up the street from this place at a nice Sheraton. What a nice surprise to find! Lots of interesting beer and two guest taps (typically they have three I think). Food was very good. Only complaint is that the place did not actually open until 11:30 (this was on a Tuesday, so maybe 11:00 on the weekends?). I’ll see if I can fix that up.“

“I’m not sure what all the fuss is about the beer at Ladyface. I tried three beers and all were good, not great. I might just not love the yeast they use or something like that. Lori was left equally happy but equally not excited to trek back out this way. It’s in a strip center which was a little odd, but once inside it’s a nice place with a cool veranda if you can get over the freeway murmur in the background.“

“The ambiance is middle-aged strip mall, but who cares when Ladyface can crank out killer food and beer? Great beer. Surprisingly good food. The bar is comfy and everyone at it seemed to be beer-smart. The bartenders were helpful. The prices were reasonable. Everything you could want in a brewpub... in a kind of weird location.“

“Wow, how refreshing it was to visit Ladyface. This establishment has everything down to a perfect science: beautiful scenery, gorgeous ambiance inside and on the patio, a vast assortment of their high quality house beers, good selection of guest taps, quick/efficient/friendly/knowledgeable staff, and high end gastropub level food. Their own house beers are excellent, way above average quality with an affinity for saisons. Our food was incredible: the olive medley, pretzel, jalapeno mac n cheese, fries, pork belly BLT. Even the cole slaw with the BLT was boss, some of the best I’ve ever had. Prices were decent, but for the quality of food and beer the prices are excellent. Really deserving of its 5-star status here. Can’t wait to see this brewery hone its saisons and sours down. My only qualm here is that their house yeast is extremely attenuating and gets all of their beers bone dry to the point on the hoppy stuff that it was overpowering.“

“Great place! Staff was very friendly and even gave me tips on bars to check out near where I was staying in LA. House beers ranged from good to great. I tried eight of eleven house taps, including three barrel aged beers. Even the ones that didn’t quite work were interesting and worth tasting.“

“Stopped in on the way north on 101. Superbowl Sunday at noon, and there were only three other people in the place. In fact, the bartender said that they would be closing at 3pm, since business had been so poor on the Superbowl days in each of the previous two years. Place has been open three years (as of January 20). Very pleasant decor: a mix of country-industrial and the Art Nouveau beer label artwork on the wall. Seating for maybe 180 people, 12 at the bar, and some tables outside. Big fermenting tanks dominating the space along one wall. 15 taps, with some guest selections. Growler sales (I bought one of Chesbro IPA to take to friends in San Luis Obispo) and guest bottle sales -- but no Ladyface bottle sales. Food wasn’t available that day, since they were closing so early. Had samplers of three brews, two of which were great and one which wasn’t so good. Very friendly, fast-talking server. If I lived anywhere near the place, I’d probably be a regular, since there doesn’t seem to be much else for craft beer around here. I really liked the place.“

“I had been wanting to come here for a while. The restaurant looked beautiful on the inside. Wood floors, beautiful art on the walls, fermentation tanks next to my table. But boy was this place noisy. My group went at 6:00 PM on a Thursday and the noise was almost overwhelming. I could never imagine coming here during peak hours. The beer selection was great. Lots of different beers of theirs on tap in many different styles. They ranged in quality from good (RIS, cherry brown ale) to amazing (IPA, Biere De Garde). Everyone in our party ordered a cheeseburger. Mine had bacon and gruyere on brioche. It came with butter lettuce, pickled red onions, and tomatoes that seemed very fresh. The meat was juicy and cooked just right. With a side of so-so fries, the whole thing came to $15, which was just on the right side of a good value. We all got to share three desserts: a beer float, a chocolate porter torte, and bread pudding. All three were good to great. Dinner for three people with plenty of beer and dessert came to $95 with tip. I was very pleased with my experience here and will come back again if I’m in the area.“

“Visited once in the summer of 2012.

They’ve got a decent amount of house beers on at any given time, so thats good for ticking efficiency, and they have some good guest beers on, but over all the place didnt impress me. The house beers were mostly appley, as in fermented poorly. This of couse could be fixed in subsequent batches so I’ll give it another try the next time I’m at Ladyface.

Service was a bit slow as there was one bartender and she spent most of her time talking to what I assume were regulars at the bar.

Samples were expensive but at least they will include guest beers in the flights. As I said, I’ll give it one more try. Hopefully it gets better.“

“Visited a half a dozen times since they opened.

Not much has changed over the years aside from the amount of beers available. The house beers are pretty good, and every time I’ve been there I’ve found at least one or two new beers to try. They also do casks every week.

Service is always fast and attentive. Food is really good. If you eat there try anything that has the pretzel bun. They have a little bit of everything but what gets me every time is the smoking woodchip aroma; makes me want to buy some pulled pork.

They hooked us up for RBSG ’12 as well. Great people, great beer, great food, and a scenic area. Oh, and if you need more ticks go down the street (literally, just a mile further) and check out Lab.“

“In a little strip mall. Beers are awful for the most part, only a couple of half drinkable ones. The house beers are your best bet. Place is pretty pricey, especially considering the quality of the beer. It was $10 for a sampler with 4 beers! Won’t bother to come back.“

“I’ve gone here a couple times as I sometimes work relatively close by. Very cool place, despite its location in a little strip mall. Well decorated, friendly staff, half-decent prices, and fairly good beers. The food is supposed to be great, but I’ve never eaten here.“

“I spent a glorious afternoon and evening out in Agora! I never thought I’d say that. Really nice place that was very easy to find, right off the 101. Welcoming staff and knowledgable bartender. The space is very nice and there is a great looking patio. Looking forward to going back and trying even more of their beers.“

“Stopped by for a long lunch and a sampler tray. Very bright, open, and clean place, staff were friendly and had a decent grasp on the beers. They had quite a few house brews on tap, enough that the sampler gave me a bit of a buzz, and several guest beers. Food was tasty, would definitely go back.“

“Visited for a late lunch. They have been open for about a week now. Easy parking (lot adjacent, plenty of room). Nice looking place. Sit down restaurant and a slightly separate bar area with a few tables as well. 2 HD tvs at the corners. Full bar. Brewing system is a good looking 14 bbl (apparently) Pub brewing system (which means a nice copper coating). Service was friendly and attentive. They do have sampling flights. 5 house beers on tap as well as quite a few guest taps (all craft, but nothing very special or even particularly local). Sampling flights are 4 beers and $12 (which seems to me to be on the pricy side of things). Food was good, and reasonably priced for the area. House beers were decent overall, but still have some room to dial them in (carbonation and hop utilization wise). Nothing undrinkable in the slightest and I am very confident they will improve quite soon. Worthy stop inbetween Ladyface and Wades. I’ll be back.“

“Had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Sat outside on the patio on a clear, sunny day which was very nice with views of the surrounding hills. Got the beer sampler which had 8 different beers from a blonde to a porter. All were good to very good and I’m looking forward to going back and trying more! The food was excellent as was the service. Had the pomme frites with red ale ketchup and blue cheese fondue, autumn salad and croque monsieur with ham and egg, all delicious. Very laid back and friendly atmosphere and staff, nice interior/exterior design, and a nice location. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the Agoura Hills area.“

“I have been here twice. One time was incredible. One time the food ruined everything, so if you find something you like, stick with it. Menu exploration will get you hosed. The beer they make here is above average in my opinion. Fresh IPA done right, some really good moves into barleywine and BA offerings as well. Belgians a bit worse but not swill. As I implied, lots of menu items are rad (the tartare, the mussels, probably anything involving meat) and a few are not (their bread is tough to find a home for). About 40 min west of Hollywood and if you’re in the mood for something different a good stop.“

“Lunch on a Friday. Place was maybe half full. 8 of their beers (2 special) along with maybe 8 or more guest taps and some sour bottles. Growlers and bottles available to go. Service was spot on (water right away, quick with beer and food delivery) and knowledgeable of the house beers (didn’t try anything else). Food was very good and reasonable (most things were 10-13) and the beer was decent. Great space inside with the brew equipment, smells of a brewery and tasty food, not too mention a great patio, Overall would be more then happy to spend an evening or day there anytime.“

“Cool place a bit away from most other good places. Vibe is upscale yuppie, but it’s California so it is pretty casual, really. Service was very good but it wasn’t busy on this day for early lunch. Food was good, maybe they try a bit hard to present it as fine dining... other than that it was fine. Beer is what I was really impressed with. I only had the IPA and IIPA, but they were both great... especially the IPA. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Small little place with a coffee porter and 4 Belgian styles of there own on tap. Decent selection of guest brews on tap including RR Blind Pig. Small but great bottle selection. Burger was was so-so and expensive. Frites were great. Nice place but unsure if I would go out of my way to go here. Then again there is not a whole lot in the area.“

“There aren’t too many places in the valley so when this place popped up I rushed and it did not disappoint. Beautiful place just off the freeway with a great patio looking out to the hills. Dave brews all the beer right on site and they have a bunch of guest taps too. Food is great and has a very unique vibe. I usually go to Tony’s in Burbank or Boneyard in Sherman Oaks but on a nice day, i drive to Agoura and chill out here. I love it!!!“

“Finally, an American brewpub that doesn’t try to emulate its competitors! This place is full of personality, from the paintings on the wall, to the terrace overlooking the hills, the Belgian and French-style house brews and the overall vibe. Guest brews were very well chosen too, but the house beers were good enough for me to forget about the other taps. Their Bière de Garde (Dérailleur) was stunningly authentic and I hope they make it a regular. This is a wonderful stop near the highway north of LA. These guys deserve more recognition amongst craft beer lover circles.“

“Located immediately off the interstate, Ladyface is very easy to find. The location is simply beautiful - surrounded by mountains. The building is new, as is everything in this area. Inside, there is low lighting, a couple long tables, other tables and long L-shaped bar. In addition, seating is offered outside on the patio with shade umbrellas for those who want to enjoy the spectacular view. The food menu is small, moderately priced, and everything sounded delicious. The pomme frites are delicious and you get a huge serving of them for $5 (and everyone was ordering them along with a sausage plate it seemed). Everything we ordered was really tasty. The beer selection was great- plenty of Ladyface offerings. Samples available but range in price from $1.50-$3.00 depending on the beer. All prices were clearly marked on the board. In addition to the beer, they appear to offer a nice selection of wine too.“

“A nice selection of house brews made with a bit of a light touch for my taste but they were out of the Barleywine and the porter when I was there. Good list of guest brews on tap. Food is a bit pretentious and it does get really loud/ crowded but that just means people are having a good time right? A bit overpriced on the food but the beers are a good value so that makes up for it.“

“andrew told me about this place... tucked out of the way in a modern building, ladyface has the feel of a european bistro once you go inside. Well laid out, good guest beer menu, and great beers brewed in house. I had a sampler, and they were all quality brews. Nice european feel, but still laid back.“

“A new place that has been designed perfectly to have a quaint old charm (amazing in light of its strip mall location). Beer is really well done, and they have a decent guest tap list as well. The food is great - if not a little pretentious. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a stop. Each beer can be sampled in $1.50 priced sample size.“

“Quite possibly one of my new favorite places to eat and drink. Went their for my birthday on vacation and we’re honestly driving back for the Tour de California again! The atmosphere, their beers, the carefully selected guest taps and the amazing food ABSOLUTELY reminded me of Gent or Brugge. If you are in the neighborhood, I can’t recommend it enough.“

“I’m surprised that I’ve missed reviewing Ladyface as I was there back in February when I was staying in the area for fire school. I visited once for dinner and a sampler, and then came back a couple nights later to meet a friend for a couple pints. Even though it’s located in a newish shopping center in the valley, Ladyface is a beautifully designed building that really has a nice Old World feel to it. They really do pull of the whole "brasserie" vibe. The beer is quite good, and even typically mundane styles like wit and blonde are done interestingly. I think that their wit was actually the beer of the trip for me, though their porter and IPA were also good. There were only four house beers when I was in, but they had a great selection of guest taps and Belgian beers in bottles. The food was good, though not incredibly veg-friendly, which is typical of Belgian-French cuisine. I love how they have one long wooden table running down the center of the dining room. The upcomong beers looked interesting as well, including some sour stuff. I’ll be back“
