“Went there for the first time last week late in the afternoon. They’ve been open for three years. Used to be a German resto/pub. Owner’s English. I was the only customer and the owner, Clyde, chatted with me the entire time; good guy. Have a nice variety of beers on the bar side which is around to the back. Victory an unincorporated burg, is actually seperate from De Soto. I had the "dusted" fish which was quite good and not greasy with fries, malt vinegar, mayo, and tartar sauce. I took a take-out of the shepards’ pie and that wasn’t so good. They list a large selection of of other British choices as well as American and Indian foods. However, the place is at the historic (but not honorable) place of Victory (check out the last battle of the Blackhawk War) and the view of the Mississippi River is outstanding. And it’s pretty sleepy except for the highway out front. I’ll definitely return.“
