“In the middle of downtown Whitewater, lots of college aged people in the area. Lots of beer to select from, and I even brought some home with me. The food was surprisingly good, and the restaurant was full with people. Fun, exciting place to enjoy some food and a beer or three“

“First visit, November 2016. Older building in the downtown area, right on the river with a nice looking patio on that side. We sat in the pub/bar area which is rather drab compared to the restaurant room (which wasn’t open). I’ll give the whole place an average ambiance score but there’s a big difference IMO between different sections. Anyway, a dozen beers on tap - 7 of their own including a nitro; I had 5 samples which were mostly average or slightly above for the (boring) styles - exception being a really fine IPA. They do Sunday brunch and we had brunch items - crabcack/asparagus benedict was quite solid. Efficient enough and friendly service; loud room overall even though it wasn’t full. Not blown away and it’s a 45 minute drive for me but decent enough that I’ll likely check it out again at some point.“

“First (and almost certainly last) visit, August 2016. Was out for a drive and ended up in the Whitewater area; being one of those benighted luddites who doesn’t have a smartphone, and remembering only that there was a brewpub in town and that the number 12 was involved, I ended up at this place (E. Milwaukee is US 12 here) instead of Second Salem, which is the place I’d actually had in mind. Turns out this used to be "Randy’s Fun Hunters" and my guess is that when the new owners took over, they decided to keep brewing because, hell, they already had the equipment, and how hard can it be? You see where I’m going...all four samples I had were sour and probably infected, watery, and basically undrinkable. And they were the standards - IPA, Wheat, Amber, Stout - and I don’t think they get much more creative than that. Food was tolerable - huge portions, but BBQ sauce that was too sweet, bread/buns that fell apart quickly, and cream of asparagus soup that was obviously made from canned or frozen veggies. I will say that the service was efficient and friendly enough, and it’s not a bad looking place inside, if rather generic. Very clean, which is more than can be said for the beer. Just misses my Top 5 Worst Brewpubs list - AVOID!“

“Just off the main drag, in the middle of downtown in college-town Whitewater. Had samples of their porter, IPA and scotch ale ("wee barley"). All very good, reasonably priced, relatively high octane, yet not bitter. Paid $5 for a delicious 10 ounce wee barley. Six of their brews on tap, stout is nitro, and four guest taps. Beers all have spooky names. You can sit at the main bar and watch the brewmaster at work, making up small batches. Growlers ($14-15 fills) and half growlers ("howlers") available for takeout. Food available for table dine-in or at the bar. Large venue (renovated restaurant) with patio seating overlooking the railroad and the lake. A seating area has an old cigar store display case with logoed t-shirts etc displayed. It could be a nifty case to display local beer history or further develop their spooky beer stories with old newspaper articles and artifacts... just a thought. Overall, well worth a visit.“
