| 50 /100 112-328 7 ST E “Used to be called Newell Brewing, now rebranded as Canadian Beaver Brewing with the taproom apparently called VK's Taproom. Located around the corner from the much better Piston Broke Company, this is a pretty pedestrian brewery. 6 beers on tap, 2 of which were IPAs but the very under-hopped, mild kinds. Sampler of 6 for $15, rather pricey for the stuff you get. Friendly service. Cute little rural feel to the taproom, but far from a beer geek's place. If you only have time for one stop in Brooks, skip this one.“ |
| 74 /100 350 9 ST E “About 2 hours east of Calgary and 1 hour west of Medicine Hat, we stopped here on the drive between. IndustrialX garage-like fee but very comfortable and homey, with a nice patio. 4 core beers plus another 4 seasonal. Flights of any 4 for $7.75 incl tax. Beer quality was solid, with everything on my flight being dialled in well. Their Smokestack Black IPA was particularly impressive. Definitely worth a stop when passing through this area.“ |
